Interesting, i hadn’t realised it was missing so much. I did think there were fewer Avanti services but assumed i had overestimated.
The new timetable is being or has been developed by Fawx, they have previously made an October 24 TT for this route as a mod to go alongside the route enhancement pack. While the updated TT will be set in 2025, this mod likely gives us a glimpse into the sorts of services that will be implemented. Having run with it, I can assure you that it is significantly more densely packed than the vanilla TT (even after Liam partially updated it) and that's even with the lack of freight. There's also the mammoth OTS Winter 19 TT, although that is pre-COVID. Both mods really showcase just how much is missing in the vanilla TT, so there is a lot to look forward too (here's to hoping that consoles can run decently). Went on an 805 over Settle and Carlisle yesterday… very enjoyable journey, looking forward to driving this in the game.
last time I tried in Free roam on Birmingham Cross City, I could get it on electric, tho it was only slightly more powerful than on diesel... still struggled up that hill from Bromsgrove I think so overall I am still confused if this is really as weak IRL (both on diesel and electric) or if they underpowered it in-game (like Desiro Classic which is much more nimble IRL as far as I heard) it can get up to 125 mph which is nice, but then, if I want that speed, I rather choose 220 or 801, those can get to that speed much quicker (damn even tho HST is kinda similar in acceleration, there I am kinda forgiving since it is the "old" and this was supposed to be its successor? )
I’m 99% certain they will release a blog today detailing all the features, components, and the release date.
Here is the full article: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live...ticle/avanti-west-coast-class-805-coming-soon
From what I've seen in the article, I'm a bit disappointed that it doesn't look like there is going to be the 350 subclasses from Birmingham Crewe layering in.
What are you basing that conclusion on, then? I don’t see anything that says it isn’t the case… unless I missed something?
"West Midlands Railway continue to handle stopping and fast regional runs between Birmingham and Wolverhampton" Does that mean the stoppers will be a train in a WMR livery, or are we going to have to deal with white and green 350s still? I get the whole 'using what we've got' argument, but it's really jarring for me as a local, and its such an important part of the route.
In the 'Avanti Class 805 Coming Soon' article, it neither says there is or there isn't but in the images where there is a 350, it is always a /1 and it uses the darker green pis colour found on the WCMLS Class 350
Yeah, I don’t know. It’s possible, but nothing has been confirmed, so I’d say let’s just wait and see tomorrow. This, however, can be found in the text: " You will be sharing the route with Class 350s, Pendolinos, Overground and Underground services, and freight movements, all layered together to create a busy and believable main line network. Additional content is required to unlock some of these services."
I assume they primarily used the one included with WCMLs because if they focused on the Brum Crewe one and someone doesn't have that route they get barely any 350 services and the new timetable ends up being dead in terms of traffic. Of course having the Brum Crewe ones as a sub should maybe be a thing...
I think it would silly not include/layer on the better 350s and the sub class varieties from Birmingham to Crewe, as the original 350/1 from WCMLS one is still pretty p*** poor. I hope those who own Birmingham to Crewe will have the opportunity to have it layer onto the new WCMLS 805 timetable. It makes sense to keep the original for those who don't own Birmingham to Crewe, but those who do own it should get the chance to be able to utilise to superior model. Fingers crossed!
By default, all services should ideally be using the 350/1 included with WCMLS so all players should have access to the full 350 timetable without having to buy Birmingham to Crewe or Trent Valley. The other variants should sub in randomly if owned. What would be really annoying would be having services missing that would only be filled in if you own the other variants, meaning that you'd have to spend another £60 (for Birmingham Crewe and Trent Valley) to not have gaps in the class 350's services.
I was just looking at the price for this. £15 quid seems fair to me since I’m going to get a lot of entertainment value from it.
yup still waiting for the patch for it. I imagine once they get the train released they can shift focus back to the route and get it sorted.
Same here, a new train and two timetables for two of my favourite routes. Well worth £15 as far as I'm concerned.
Will the 805 only be usable between Stafford and Crewe? I thought all the North Wales services run via TV
"This is one of the most detailed and traffic heavy timetables ever introduced in Train Sim World, with over 2,000 total services and more than 1,000 driveable" I have to say as a console player this doesn't fill me with hope. This might be a see what the feedback says on release for me. I hope they can prove me wrong though
Got to admit I'm very disappointed that the Class 90 won't layer onto any of Birmingham - Crewe, Milton Keynes - Crewe and the 805 WCMLS timetable, really wish All Aboard would get over their issues with ATS and add them to the timetable.
I enjoyed the stream, it looks and sounds good, will be getting it, they have done a good job in my opinion. I was disappointed though that the class 90 will not appear in the timetable for the 805 or on the upcoming route and also I wonder why the cargo line packs were used on Birmingham to Crewe but seemingly not the WCML South route.
Damn, I only bought them to add traffic to the WCMLS. So if I choose the 805 timetable, it will only show the original WCMLS freight then ?
Well it will use presumably whatever was on the route originally, I can't remember exactly what that was but there were plenty of class 66's around Willesden and they passed one freight train at least. I assume the services will be taken from the 2025 WTT not the original WCML South timetable.
Well the issues may well go both ways. It would certainly be better for all concerned, including us users if they could work together. Will the class 90 get another new timetable on WCML South (presumably without the AAB stock) or will it somehow be part of the original. Definiately a shame it won't appear on the new AAB route. Hopefully there is still room for some minds to be changed.
I was disappointed. The WCMLS timetable doesn't look as good as the OTS Winter 2019 timetable and I've uninstalled Birmingham Crewe as I find the way they implemented the timetable irritating (I like to lock the doors a bit early so I can leave on time but it makes me open them again - a small thing but it really bugs me). Add to that the fact it won't include the 90 and it's an easy pass from me. This is the problem with timetables each 3rd party makes their own and it takes modders to make timetables that pull everything together.
Presumably it'll just replace the 66 on some runs in the original timetable as well as adding a couple (DRS/DB workings most likely)
So there will be no need to buy everything for layers, you just choose what suits the timetable you're on. Less expenses, but less variety. I often see nuclear trains on WCMLS and I thought it was nice. If it's a different era, as for the 313 on ECW ok, but I don't like the idea of having to change timetables to enjoy the "full experience".
Yes that's most likely I guess. Hopefully something will be agreed maybe with some gentle cajoling from DTG. I definitely liked the 805 and the stream and will get it but there always seems to be something which sours the experience. I was more intrigued as to why they haven't used cargo line on the Euston route. Unless Skyhook wouldn't let them but that seems unlikely.
Genuinely shocked that the 90 won't layer into Trent Valley. It'll be the only non-class 66 freight loco and it won't be able to be used on one of it's primary routes!
