Screenshot (1103).png Screenshot (1104).png Screenshot (1102) edited.png Here are the items on sale for Xbox and TSW6 Windows. Most of them I own except for the following Class 170 XC Class 380 scotrail and Clinchfield RR. Since I have a poll enabled I'm asking the community which one is best to buy from the sale?

The Class 380 adds an extra train to both Cathcart and E-G. Gives two different driving experiences on Cathcart, (although brakes are powerful).

OTOH the XC Class 170 makes BCC more lively as it comes with a whole new timetable.

When I checked the polls I made it seems Class 380 is the winner here

If you’re a fan of BCC than the 170 enhancement pack is a must. The route feels less like a ghost town and this pack includes more traffic, enough said.

The 170 and 380 both bring previously fairly dead routes to life in a big way. If you have Cross-City and Cathcart, definitely worth it.

While i would agree that’s its worth more money, it’s such an old route that’s really starting to show its age with bare scenery and a sparse timetable (although realistic to the period). Clinchfield is so old route that i’m not even sure i would buy it today if i didn’t already own it. Don’t even play it that much anymore if i’m being honest..

If something from 2020 is "showing its age" then frankly it was pretty bad by 2020 standards. I read opinions on general gaming forums and there's constant heated debate on if even PS3 games need remasters. Lot of people hate The Last of Us Part I for that reason, it's a remake of something that frankly already looked fine. When Sony could've put the time into something where a remake is more needed, the Jak & Daxter games for example, sticking to something still from Naughty Dog.

Frankly the fact we see so many people begging for remasters for pretty much but a few third party efforts I take as a sign of how weak a lot of those efforts are. A actual decent looking title from five years ago shouldn't need to be reworked a ton to remain relevant, resolution and frame-rate boosts should be enough really for any other game.

(Sorry if that's long, but as someone that has always been critical of the route this sort of thing just irks me)

Also on the sparse timetable, worth noting that while it is supposed to be light, I believe Matt said at the time of release they did have gaps left in it for DLC. Really shows how bad of a idea "saving services for DLC" that isn't 100% gonna happen actually is, they should've either worked with what they had, or greenlit the loco DLC off the bat. Even with that in mind a lot of the services are actually unique, so much of the timetable's actually worth playing, which isn't necessarily true for lot of the other routes.

Really the biggest problem is just that a lot of the services bug out due to the single track + siding nature of the route. Plus those stupid stops right before red signals where you only have a 5 yard margin of error. If those didn't exist I'd have little issue recommending the route even with unpolished visuals and a underdeveloped timetable.
