I have TSW 3 installed on a PS5 and I have owned both for about 2 years. Both TSW and the PS5 have been used infrequently, and every so often I will load TSW with the intention of understanding how to operate and succeed in getting a train to move! However, every time, and today is another example, I get to a point that I reach frustration with performing or understanding the instruction given and I give up. For example, I loaded it up today and from the menu I went into the quick play section and chose the 30-minute option. Shortly after, I'm standing on the platform, and in the top left corner of the screen it says "WAIT". So I'm thinking that I'm waiting for the train, and I'll be able to get in the cab and drive it. No! After 15 minutes I'm still on the platform, having walked up and down to see if this prompts further instruction or gives me some indication on what I should do, but nothing happens and I exit the game. To be honest, if this is the gameplay, then it's very realistic, waiting around for a train with no one telling you when or if it's going to appear And then there are the controls. When I've managed to get into the cab, using the PS5 controller is extremely frustrating when trying to align the selection dot, it's akin to balancing a marble in the centre of a metal plate. And the joystick, if you move it up to instinctively look up, the image points down! Is there a way to reverse this? Please help me get to grips with this, as I see so many videos on YouTube showing some great routes and scenery, and would like to be part of this. Thanks.
Sorry that we missed this. Some services on some routes are bugged like this - instead of spawning you in the train ready for a service, you get teleported to some random location on the map with no train in sight. I believe this is because the train was in an unexpected location so the game panics and just spawns you in. It's for this reason I prefer to ignore quick play and use my own randomiser to pick my services. Sometimes scenarios have you wait for a train, but they usually have some instructions to go with it and never have you wait for 15 minutes + The controls do take a bit of getting used to - I'm not sure if there's a sensitivity slider but if there is then it might help. If you're trying to operate touchscreens then there is a setting that allows the camera to zoom into it so that you have more control. This may already be enabled though. Yes, there should be an option in the settings to 'invert y-axis'. If you can't find it play the camera tutorial in the Training Centre or if you have a pre-TSW3 DLC then play the route introduction for that. It will eventually give you an option to invert the y-axis. Failing that, it's just another quirk to get used to, I'm afraid.
aeronautic237 Thanks for your reply. I have now resolved the camera issue. Appreciate you giving some explanation to the quirks and, potentially, a bug I have encountered. It does seem that could be the issue as nothing is progressing other than numerous people walking by! I tried following some of them that were leaving the platform thinking this might be a clue, but I could only go so far and had to watch them walk off. I've now bought TSW6, so I'll see if they have made the gameplay any easier. Is this a game mostly played on a PC or is there a community of players using a PS5?
I believe it's a fairly even distribution of players between PC, PlayStation and Xbox so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding fellow PlayStation players. Have fun with TSW6!
