The demolition was typical of its time. Roads and brutalist architecture were seen as forward thinking and historic buildings were just in the way. I suspect brown envelopes of used bank notes helped in many cases. The was a saying in Birmingham, "what the Luftwaffe started, Frank Price and the city council finished". As well as Snow Hill, New Street was modernised and a Georgian crescent was one of many victims of "progress". Still Worcester faired even worse.
My personal favorite would be the 1970s Woodhead Line with CL506s and CL76s JT should really consider the mid-80s Furness/Cumbria Coast line or the North Wales Coast line Another modern-day route that DTG should consider is either the GEML to Ipswich or the West Anglia Main Line, with the branch to Stansted.
A late 70s Woodhead would be great, the TSC classic BR Blue version of the old Woodhead route was excellent. Also if we had the 506, that would make a good starting point for a 306 should an older GEML be made.
Harrogate Loop, York-Harrogate-Leeds, with the fast line in as well between York and Leeds, and also ECML Newcastle-Edinburgh
Brighton mainline remake with these changes: 1. Remove the diverted Southeastern services, only ai at Victoria. 2. Add class 700 Brighton to East Croydon 3. Move boundaries for access to depots 4. Add inaccessible stations on the map: Queenstown Road, Wandsworth Road, Streatham Hill, Streatham, reedham, Coulsdon town, Woodmansterne and Norwood Junction. 5. Add ai SWR and London overground services at Clapham Junction drivable to Queenstown Road and Wandsworth Road. 6. If an extension was possible extend to London Bridge including West Croydon.
Growing up on the BedPan line, I'd love that in game. Get the right year as well and you could have 319s, Electrostars and 700s on it. Make sure the Thameslink section runs through to Blackfriars though not cutting it off at St Pancras like the TSC one did.
Thinking farther afield I'd love to see Saarbrucken Trier in game, massive freight yard at Saarbrucken and a lovely scenic route once out of urbanisation heading to Trier.
I'm in the US so I don't know much about the route, but there's a trolly line in Blackpool I've seen on YT and TV that I would love to see in this game.
Not that long ago it was a mish mash of all sorts of Trams and railcar looking things. Some plastered in advertisements, some in classic liveries, some with open top roofs.. going along to see them lit up for the Blackpool Illuminations was always special! Development time for that would be immense!
Blackpool tramway would be great, probably before 2012 when the tramway was 'modernised' and most of the older trams retired, although I suppose you could argue the recent branch to Blackpool North station makes it a bit less of an A-B linear route.

I’d like SWR class 444 and 455 London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour via Woking and Guildford including the branch via hinchley wood and oxshott after surbiton that terminates at Guildford. If too long split it at Guildford.
Interestingly the oldham loop I thought was just dms by the early 80s but it turns out it still had parcels traffic from mumps and clegg St that was loco hauled and 08s doing the shunting. Found a photos of class 40 in 1982 at mumps
