I believe that's because at Crewe they change to diesel to go on the North Wales coast line.

The running sounds seem way too quiet to me. They were a great deal better on the GWR 802.

Doing timetable run on crewe and the rear lights are not switched on. Do I have to run down and switch them on or should they be on. Also going london bound and the front pantograph is not the rear is that correct.

It's definitely much busier on the passenger side but at the cost of basically no freight services. Swings and roundabouts I guess
I could have sworn there was talk of railtours on the WCML South timetable though.

It's a touch disappointing to have the 3 WCML South freight focused DLC and then not be able to reap their benefits with the 805, I know it's a very first world problem.

I can't understand why they weren't included unless Skyhook said no but I think they have used them on Birmingham to Crewe.

    Ps5 Pro.
A popping sound appears every now and then when applying power and braking. like an audible click. It seems to be random and not at specific speeds.

Unfortunately, blurry textures are back too, both on the Birmingham - Crewe and the line to Milton Keynes.

I think you have done a really nice job in general with the dlc, so I hope that an update can reduce/solve the problem.

Issue that I have found is that when changing the cab announcement setting, on the 805 it doesn't actually change in game (Xbox Series S)

Also is their no Class 710/3 on EMK 2025 Timetable? Not an issue but thought i might ask.

That was on the default timetable back when DTG were fixing it, this timetable was originally done by Fawx (a modder) I think

Been playing this a lot today on the ps5. Mostly the Euston to Milton Keynes route. Really enjoying it so far with the new improved timetable! Something minor that used to annoy me on the original TT was the southbound non stop Avantis at Milton Keynes always used to stop at a red signal but now they seem to go past at speed! :)

Seconded. Although I’ve noticed the ‘popping’ in normal running on both WCMLS and Birmingham-Crewe. Not as noticeable as the 802, however.

First drive of the 805 on my PC. Got it just past 1300 EST, which is 1000 PST, when Steam releases. Drove the 1B34, an up service from M- K to Euston and all was going great until I stopped at Euston. Opened doors to let the people off and when I got the "Lock Door" message did so and confirmed that the doors on train were closed, but the game would not recognize this so could not complete the service. I even tried moving the train closes to the bumper post.

I had similar issue but I had arrived a little early than the timetable so I had to wait until the time it was scheduled to arrive and it completed the journey

    Dampener on stock,

    Wcml - South

    1st service incorrect.

Holyhead / Blackpool - gained coaches at Crewe but doesn't call at Milton Keynes Central last stop Stafford then straight to Euston.

On screen note unlock doors, if it was a true thing then surely you would just set the train up & drive like former Great Western Express. Has you would be driving not picking up or dropping off passengers to symbolise running between Milton keynes Central & London. Same with upcoming Trent Valley arriving at Milton keynes Central I wouldn't be expecting to unlock doors.

I went back and came into Euston again from my last save. Once I got the "Lock Doors" message and I did so, I waited until the actual arrival time, and it still did not end. So, this tt service must be a bit bugged. I did get an "Objective Complete" when I stopped at the bumper post.

    Yeah that's a known issue they spotted too late to fix in time for launch;

I assume it'll be fixed at some point

Just had my first run on WCML South, and they are the same issues I’ve encountered on PC. Nice run on 1J32 1800 Euston to Chester, arriving +1 at Milton Keynes Central.

Apart from the above issues, the livery and the cab is excellent. I love the 80x class anyway so always a Day 1 purchase with the new timetables too.

Just a small one, the WCML:S timetable seems to have an internal date set as 2024 not 2025. The B2C one is set correctly as 2025.

    5D20, Series S.

Just ran this as my first service, on the Birmingham to Crewe route.

Started off having to quickly figure the cab out, and missed the additional AWS switch on the back until much later on. Already knew to raise the panto, which is an issue mentioned by others today. The train drove well, responded effectively (unlike the Voyager!) and made driving the 36 mile stretch a breeze. These trains are great! Approach to Crewe was met with anxiety though, and the old’ save save save save trick was utilised in case of any desktop crashing. Crewe was a little blurry, but didn’t stutter or jar the experience after such a smooth ride. However when the gong hit right at the end it did indeed crash to desktop. I reloaded the latest save, arrived patiently but the same happened again, despite loading a fresh Crewe. I tried again.. it happened again.. seems like the final instruction is glitched and it self destructs!

Just had a quick trip as passenger on a service I regularly travel on IRL (10:35 from Chester) which is the 10:53 from Crewe.

    A couple of things.

    • I could not sit down on some empty seats
    • No coach lettering on the outside PIS screens
    • Coach lettering inside is wrong, coach 'J' is not first class on a 5 car set, it's 'E'
    • Coach lettering on a 10 car set is wrong, all lettered A-J
    • The big screens at the end of the coaches just display the Avanti logo, these should be displaying calling points - I'm sure I saw these working in the demo stream!?!
    • The service was incorrectly in reverse formation
    • Reservation screens are not displaying 'Reservations are Unavailable' *
    * that's just a little joke, but in reality whenever I tend to travel, the reservation system has normally failed to download LOL - would be a nice little touch to have the failures displayed on screen

I will take it for a drive when I get some time on Thursday.

How come JT's 86 & 87 are missing? Did JT not give permission?

Apart from those little niggles, so far, very enjoyable. It was also nice not to have over tint on the windows, really bugs me when this happens as 11am could look like 11pm at night on some units (i.e. Class 390 for one)

    On PC

WCMLS 1A44 Chester to Euston, the pantograph was down, took me a minute or two to realise! I see that it seems to be an issue.

Apart from that it was very enjoyable. The sounds seem very well done and the route was busy, passed three freight trains, one pulling into Willesdon yard which was very immersive, it was busy round there too. Still not sure why the cargo line packs aren't on this timetable but it isn't a big deal. Having said that, I must have been lucky at that time as there are far fewer driveable freight workings than even the original timetable.

I do think the livery looks striking and suits the shape of the train, the modelling seems very well done.

A little disappointed that there are only I think three full length runs on Birmingham to Crewe but if that is reality then so be it.

    I will check that.

And when i was running 1A68 earlier the stops were Stafford and London Euston, and i saw on the timetable for WCMLS that you could run that same service, so i think there is an issue with announcements.

Does anyone else think the 2025 timetable on crewe. Feels quieter than the other one.

Despite my stated views I found myself hitting the buy button on this an hour or so ago, mainly because the overall feedback seems generally favourable (and trying to find a decent run on Simrail with Buzz Lightyear is a bit elusive at present).

Anyhow, not displeased, I mean we pretty much know what we are getting - it's an IET.
No major issues so far, just a couple of things to mention.
The vigilance in the cab is very quiet, to the point where I got zwanged a couple of times and brought to a stand, under clear signals. So I'm assuming I must have missed the vigilance.

As regards sounds, could consideration be given to removing the interlocking so we can run with the cab doors open? This is equally applicable to the 801 and 802 as well, but it would allow a bit more thrash to possibly drift into the cab.

The main issue I see with this release is that, just like the 390, it doesn't really get a chance to stretch its legs or challenge the driver before the 35 - 40 minute runs are over. Obviously that will change when Trent Valley comes out but, like many of the long distance trains in TSW, it's a bit wasted on our short routes.

On PC there are 540 services on the 2019 timetable and 541 on the 2025 timetable so it is pretty much the same in that respect. I don't know about X-Box/PS5.

Might have already been mentioned somewhere, but not only do you have to raise the pantograph and select electric - depending on what's going on, you may need to select the pantograph in the menu on the screen.

People like me enjoy this sort of thing and want it to be as complicated as possible (but ideally not through "discovery" like I had to, but instead a thick manual). Can understand others might not...

When doing the 350s from Wolverhampton to Birmingham new street why hell have we got to to wait 15 mins at new street for the job to end. Thats what turns a 25 min job into a 40 min job.

I agree to an extent. But I prefer a bit of realism. Starting a Chester to Euston service at Milton Keynes. The previous driver had shut the cab down, turned the headlights off and lowered the pantograph! Oh and shut the passengers in. That isn't particularly immersive for me personally.

That isn't a reflection on the 805 of course apart from maybe the pantograph.
