It won't be layering onto it.

No irony from me. You are just trying to stick your nose into someone else’s business which has nothing to do with you. Let’s keep it on topic

I am sure the community will make a timetable utilising the stock

Ok I'm just jumping in here at the end having skimmed through the thread and quite a lot of vitriol. Just to throw my tuppence in :)

I can understand why the 90 won't be subbing in on the route and the reasons for that, although I think it's bad form from both parties to not work together for the benefit of the user, gamer, customers. While I fully expect some angel to come and make an enhanced timetable which will include various treats alongside integrating the 90 into it, it will only benefit the PC user. Speaking as a PC gamer, that is great for us but I do feel sympathy for the console gamer here for a change as they will be missing out.

It is a pity that DTG couldn't "bang their heads together" and get them to play nice given it ultimately affects the image of their "flagship" product, TSW.

That said, I fully expect the 90 to come out AFTER the route specifically so that even if the route devs wanted to make a sub layer they couldn't :/

One final observation and this might be a bit controversial, since the 805 has just released this week and there is some other Hitachi thing coming as the included traction for the Trent Valley route, wouldn't it have made more sense to forgo the 805 (or the other Hitatchi thing) and add a freight loco like the 68? Especially since DRS are happy to license out for non-heritage stuff and you know the whole route going by DIRFT and Crewe B.H - two places quite known for 68s these days...

Just a personal opinion, but what a waste. Both parties missing out on some cross sales.
Kinda makes me not want the 90 pack nor the Crewe routes because what's the point? The routes needs the 90 and the 90 needs the routes.

It's a shame console users (Including myself) get the short end of the stick

I think it's a one way thing really. The routes wouldn't feel that different with/without the class 90 whereas the 90 will have no home in TSW aside from the WCML. Its ATS losing out more than anything

I agree with you both parties would miss out because some people see it as well if 90 doesn't layer then I dont the 90 or the routes.

Technically it ran on the east coast mainline but I’m not 100% sure about which parts and we would need mk4s

I believe the GNER service was from Kings Cross to Leeds or York.

I'm fairly certain that they went as far as York with RES on the postal trains, maybe further north too and no Mk4s required for that one ;)

They didn’t in 2020 (or whenever the only ECML route is set) though.

just to be clear. Are we saying there is a Class 90 in development and no route for it to go on?

Well, there was the above mentioned regular spot hire for the ECML between Kings Cross and Leeds that ended after there were sufficient Azumas in service. Class 90s also performed mail duties on the ECML in the 90s prior to the introduction of Class 325s.
    But also....
Great Eastern Mainline - London to Norwich 2003-2020
    Freight duties; 1989 onwards
Stratford to Ipswich. (GEML not in TSW yet)
    Stratford to Willesden (Mildmay Line)
Gospel Oak to Barking (Suffragette Line)
Barking to Thames Gateway Terminal (C2C not in TSW yet).

So along with any future WCML releases or new timetables between 1988 and 2005 (passenger)/modern day (freight),post 80s ECML, the two London Overground lines and two highly requested routes that aren't in TSW yet, there's no home for these poor lonely Class 90s.

Be nice if the two London Overground routes could have them. I think the last time I saw 90s working in real life (other than the LSL ones) was at Camden and Gospel Oak.

They're regulars on the Great Eastern freights these days if you're ever near that line between Stratford and Ipswich, some of them are still wearing their de-branded Greater Anglia colours.
