This is a reskin and is always the case with these things they’ve left the evidence there for us to see. Sometimes they don’t even try to hide it and that’s what gets me. Don’t remember which thread I posted it in now but if you spawn an 805 (oh for a 5-car you have to select a 390!) the computer shows a destination of Swindon.
I expected there is but its what interests you & not what other people think they are only giving there feed-back on it if they brought otherwise you not in position to criticise it.
For the record. I bought it. I foolishly thought it was going to be more than just a reskin and that it would be worthwhile. My honest advice is wait for it to be a tenner. As a matter of principle.
Ditto. There is really nothing about driving this that is anything special, if I want to take a Knotweed from Euston to MKC or Birmingham to Crewe I can just set up a run with the 801 or 802 in Scenario editor. One to rebuy in a deep sale only.
Just had my first crash on Xbox since the WCML(S) was first fixed (well, not fully fixed obvs) over a year ago whilst playing an 805 service. The game crashed with the out of video memory reason whilst on the approach to London Euston. Honestly, how are things still so bad?
I was of the understanding it's a new model that has a different interior, PIS screens, additional cab functionality and a new timetable that at last features a busy timetable for those not on PC. Is that not the case?
Yes. That’s all true. The interior has different moquette and different seat. But, this really isn’t a big deal. The screens show different destinations (does that count?) Additional can functions (you can run on diesel) There are a couple of additional trains BUT this seems to make the crashes more commonplace.
Well if it is just a "reskin" then I am happy with it, although it seems to be diminshing peoples efforts by calling it "just a reskin" especially when it comes with new timetables on two routes. Everytime there is a new release the same people buy it and then regret it, moan about it and then buy the next release and then regret it and then moan about it, rinse and repeat. There is plenty of research material before you press the buy button, stop "rewarding" developers with your money if you think their stuff is shoddy. I am going for a run up the WCML in an 805, as I think it is rather good.
Which doesn't make a lot of difference up front in the cab. Maybe aesthetics if doing conductor mode, which I avoid other than for monthly mastery anyway. If they had made a real effort to buff the sounds heard in the cab, or change things so you could run with the cab doors open then maybe it would be more than a rework (which is crediting slightly more effort than a reskin), but there was no way this was ever going to be built from scratch. It's a conversion and not worth £15 (IMHO).
Why did you buy it? Just out of interest, because you basically knew all this beforehand and even said it in posts!! *I totally agree with you though, just not sure why you would still give them the money?
Well, I'm happy with value for money, it's why I bought it. Even if some are underwhelmed, this pack would have required enough work to justify the price in my opinion. I'll finally have time to take it for a spin tomorrow.
Honestly people need to start with the price of DLC it is not cheap and if people keep buying content that they feel is not worth the price it is only going to get worse.
The two timetables you mention only comes beneficial to those who own BOTH routes. If you only own one of the routes the the other timetable is pointless really. Also to add I read in another comment that although you get two new timetables one of them has drastically cut freight right down from the previous timetable to only 8 freight service!! I know it has been mentioned they will look to reimplement those services but how often have we heard that in the community about things getting fixed and never do.
The All Aboard Simulations Class 805 “Evero” BMU Multiple Unit DLC for Train Sim World 6 is genuinely the best thing to hit the rails since sliced bread — a masterclass in realism, immersion, and craftsmanship. The audio alone, powered by SamTSound Mods, is nothing short of phenomenal, delivering rich, authentic soundscapes that make every throttle input, brake application, and power transition feel alive and visceral. Kezz’s work on the simulation side elevates the experience even further, with systems, handling, and operational detail that feel painstakingly researched and flawlessly implemented, turning every run into a deeply authentic driving experience rather than just a route run. And visually, the Evero is simply stunning — razor-sharp textures, immaculate cab detail, and exterior modelling that’s genuinely second to none, making it as beautiful to look at as it is to drive. It’s not just a DLC — it’s a benchmark for what premium Train Sim World content should be
We need a LOL emoji so bad on this forum after reading this. Did you seriously get AI to type that out for you LOL. Funny thing is you are saying how the exterior modelling is fantastic. You do realise this is not a brand new build model but a modification of the 80x we have in sim already so the modelling has got nothing to do with AABS lol
I did it, because I knew you'd have something to say about it, and it just proves my point further really.
I was giving my personal opinion. Calling it just a reskin is disingenuous. I am happy with the price it's worth it for me. Some need to work out if it's worth it for them and take some responsibility for their decisions.
been reading reviews on here and watching a few streams for me it is personally not worth the money for me in my opinion. IT is in my wishlist and i may pick it up at a later date in sale. Also just to highlight i didnt call it a reskin in my reply to you. I was referencing the timetables
After seeing the 805 I’ve realised maybe I just the db br 187 too hard /j this is just the blurry express and another boring 800 family member
Actually looking up the term it is kind of debatable, there is stuff labeled as "reskins" that do actual changes beyond texture and audio work. I came across this article from a localization company, which talks about "reskinning" of full video games. https://inlingogames.com/blog/what-...a-game-and-make-it-completely-unrecognizable/ One of the games it cites as a reskin is Super Mario Bros 2, which famously is a reskin of Doki Doki Panic. What's interesting about that though is that is the reskinning process for that game actually did come with actual changes to gameplay. The biggest one being that they added running, which notably wasn't a thing prior to it being redone as a Mario title. There's also changes made to things like hitboxes and jump heights, the SMB2 version didn't have a save function. And I think they even made the requirements for the ending less strict, I believe DDP required beating all the levels with all four characters, while SMB2 doesn't, but don't quote me on that. Being a "reskin" doesn't mean it has to have literally no chances beyond visual and audio. I can't remark on how much the 805 here and if it does or doesn't qualify, I frankly have not cared enough about it to really look at it. But certainly things like the minor reworks of the Class 66 or SD40-2 qualify as reskins if we're using Mario 2 as a example.
No I know you didn't but it's has been mentioned. I was one who mentioned the lack of freight services. It's disappointing but not a deal breaker for me as I'm not a huge fan of the class 66 and it's more for AI traffic for me. I am more interested in the passenger timetable.
It makes sense anyway rather than building a new model. I half expected it to be based on the existing model. I am not personally particularly interested in getting into the semantics of it.
If anyone wants to know what makes the 805 different I made a comparison video showcasing all the differences here.
Same as you more passenger style if what i like. The freight is always nice to see when passing by it as AI
I'll be more interested when the 90 is released and anything pre class 66 I'm interested in. Had a great run on Shap with a 31 and a train of hoppers the other day. But yes like you more interested in passenger trains.
honestly a new freight train gets a huge thumbs up from me Yes it is annoying AABS cant include it in the timetable BUT i am sure the community will have it included in a timetable with many other services in no time.
There were a few reports that said the sounds were better and that a recording trip had been made. Guess that was enough to make me decide to evaluate it, but the reality turned out - so far as the driving experience is concerned - identical to the 801 and 802. I will rebuy it when the sale price matches what it’s worth, i.e. £8 for a cloned reskin/rework and a new timetable. But passing it off as a new train at the higher end of the loco DLC price range is disengenuous at best. Now the CD 163 or, as we are affectionately calling it, Buzz Lightyear for SimRail is a completely new loco, body, cabs, interior engine room and even down to the aforementioned thyristor buzzing noise, new sounds. And all for £11, or £9.89 bought during the first two weeks. It is a sad situation, that for the UK at least, neither DTG or any of the 3P’s are capable of delivering an all new loco/trainset for the game. Even JT are recycling their 86 for the upcoming Preston to Crewe route.
And this is the problem simrail do not rush to get content out on a regular basis. They take time and produce quality. Look at the length of the route and the detail it comes with. Rolling stock looks, sounds and drives great. Simrail are doing it right less is more and more will sell that way.
I wonder if it’s because I’m younger I tend to like these more modern units. Maybe I like 805’s because I was glad to see the arse-end of 221’s on the WCML - I do think it is a good project overall, and having helped create the mod one in the first place it’s nice to see that we now have a proper one. A photo below of the lovely cab glow from the screens.
I do agree SimRail is great, and I have played quite a fair bit of it, the ETCS Functionality, and the way the EU07/EP08 sound is great, heck I even like driving the ED250, but there isn’t any British Content at the moment, and that’s why I think a lot of us stick with TSW. SimRail is what TSW should have been, multiplayer etc. Maybe once the British Content rolls in eventually, it will put TSW to bed.
Well you have changed your attitude from earlier which is nice to see. I reckon if more developers get onto Simrail TSW could be up against a strong competition. If Simrail were to release a UK and or German route a lot of people would start using it more I reckon.
I think the way they seem to be doing it is expanding outwards? Of course that’s going to take ages to get to the UK, but if that’s the way they do it then fine by me - I’d like to see some of the ETCS stuff they have done get used in the UK, maybe for example once the East Coast Signalling Programme has been finished or something like that, yes while modern units, ETCS is still very cool.
Simrail would be an alternative for me but not replace TSW unless it did everything better. It doesn't have a all day timetable so that is downside for me for a start.
Overpriced, but I wanted it since my jam is modern routes and traction. I've spend far more money on far worse/less. I'm not losing sleep over it and enjoy it. I'd spend the same $$ on a movie which would get me 2 hours of enjoyment. I'll get much more out of this.
Question…. WCML service 9G25. Euston - Watford with overhead disruption… which I think would be Watford and back to Euston. Just before arrival at Watford, with about 400 yards to stopping at the station, a muted warning buzzer sounded and was acknowledged as normal by pressing the DRS. This was not the normal DRS warning beep. The DRS recognition was ignored and the train stopped on its own about 300 yards from the station and would not move again. I changed from Electric to diesel and back again, reset the run controls by removing and replacing the key and reverser… the train pointed blank refused to move. The emergency brake was reset etc etc to no avail. After about 15 minutes of trying I gave up. I’ve had this buzzer sound on both other runs I’ve done to Euston from MK with the 805 pulling up short of the finish marker on the platform on its own. As it was effectively at the destination the game ended so there was chance to see if the train could be made to move again. All of the train warnings services have been set to NORMAL and have operated as expected. Any suggestions?
Might be a TPWS grid, can't remember if Euston has them or not. Try approaching the final 1000 yds (might be more) at 10-12mph
Definitely a TPWS grid. The ones into Euston platforms on WCMLS are very sensitive indeed. I think 10mph to be safe, as the brake demand trigger might be set at 12mph it I remember correctly.
