Textures on consoles are always blurry anyway. A little more, a little less, it doesn't matter, Just sit further away from the TV.

Apparently, I'm not a typical user. If there's a problem, I solve it. I wanted more services on BR140, so I downloaded the mod. I wanted BR294 on Maintalban, so it's there. If I'm not happy with something, I just don't play it. Why waste my nerves?

No, I have never said that at all! I have never ever suggested people shouldn't complain or bring up problems, so no need for the strawman argument. I have moaned myself plenty of times in the past about things that bother me.

And I fully sympathise with those on consoles having problems.

However, for me the sim is not "broken" if it was I would uninstall it and DTG would never get a penny from me again, I certainly wouldn't be wasting precious time on their forums.

It clearly isn't broken for many people and I think that, that message needs putting across too, otherwise there is a danger that newcomers will conclude it is broken as that what the hyperbole on the forum often suggests.

I will moan where I feel it is necessary, I will be positive where I feel it is warranted, you of course are free to take any stance you wish to.

A good developer will be happy receive positive and negative feedback feedback. Both help the developer out. If people don’t raise problems then as far as a developer is concerned everything is ok when it isn’t. Positive feedback also helps them just as much as negative as then they know where things are going well and what they do is appreciated. Not all negative feedback is giving in a bad way it can only help make something good better.

I was told I was being petty for complaining about blurry textures on Discord. That I should just enjoy the game and be happy with it for what it is.

I could always just play the game without glasses and wouldn't notice the blurry textures as it would all be blurry LOL.

The blur won't be as noticeable if you sit further away. I've seen a lot of screenshots from console versions. This is an upscale from low resolutions, motion blur.Seriously, all console games, not just this one, look like blurry garbage compared to the PC image. Personally, I don't see a problem with the blurry textures. At least judging by the screenshots, blurry textures are a birth defect of all consoles due to their low power.

I tried to run Bound for Edinburg senarios in laptop its amazing lagy at London Euston , 3 350 at Euston and 2 390 and when i am starting to run 390 and 350 coming to euston its my fps drop to 21 (I don't have Birmingham-Crewe and 710)

Honestly, it doesn't shock me that much. It's a bit like when you take a photo, the further you get from the focal point, the blurrier it is.

Those were from my own screenshots that just playing the game normally back then, also I was trying to highlight the whole blurry textures issue where it affects both the train and scenery

Ok so here is where i eat my words.

So purchased this after some of the comments left here were giving it good reviews and feedback members whom have bee around long enough so you know you can take their words for it.
Had a watch of a few youtube videos as well and decided to hit the buy button.

First impressions after doing the tutorial is really good lovely looking livery and model. Sounds i can see why others say the sounds are good they are REALLY good.
That tutorial to get you used to the trains and functions has got to be one of the best tutorial's for TSW ever made. VERY VERY detailed and should be how they are done for future content as that answers ALOT of questions people normally ask so to ABS big thumbs up from me so far. A very nice train indeed. If you have both the routes then honestly it is worth the money i can see why those who only own one route may be put off as it does seem a high price for just the one timetable if you only had the one route.

 

That's right. PC users took all the crisp textures and unnecessary services from the timetable so that console players wouldn't have enough.

I don't see any fundamental difference. Everything is blurry here too, especially the long shots. I don't see that in myself. Even the long shots are quite clear.

Had a look at the layers and these 2 are unticked but i cant seem to tick them despite owning the WCMLS ???

Those two missing layers are from the upcoming Trent route, which should be released in the next few months.

The layering is all in place ready and waiting for release.

I checked recently and my driving license doesn't say anything about me needing glasses/contact lenses. In any case, your screenshots are blurry in every way, even where you write that they are not blurry. The consoles don't even come close to achieving the image clarity how on PC. So I don't see any problem with the textures becoming a little bit fuzzier. A little more blurriness, a little less, you can simply ignore it.

 

Ditto here which is why I rebought it and decided to give it a second chance (and I’ve now gone past the two hour window on Steam anyway). Still not a huge fan of IET’s but AABS heart is in the right place and I wanted to support one of the few developers doing UK content, even if not my preferred era. As regards the pricing, got a feeling for 3P’s once Steam, DTG and VAT take their chunk of that £15 there’s probably less than 50% going back to be shared out amongst those who worked on it.

So happy to give them what is probably the value of two or three pints at Wetherspoons for the work put in, particularly on the timetables.

I've debated the whole blurry texture issue to death so won't be doing it any further back and forths in this thread. But for what it's worth the buck stops at DTG when it comes to blurring, as it is a core issue. In regards to blurring with the 805 I've noticed it more so on B2C. WCMLS does blur but not anywhere as badly as I anticipated and just rears it's ugly head in certain locations before going back to normal. In the long term I've regained confidence because of Decembers roadmap stream that it can be resolved... However, I think this is a long term strategy so unfortunately for us console players it's a matter of gritting out teeth. Personally I'm willing to give it a 6 month window before complaining more. But that's just me.

In terms of the 805, I agree with the OP, it's a lovely little add on with a superb unit. The sounds are some of the sharpest I've heard to date and the detail is equally superb. I don't buy the idea this is just a riskin, as I've said numerous times this the a sub class like any other Electrostar, Desiro, or Aventra unit. The shell is the same but that's probably as far as it goes. But a much appreciated add on, which adds a huge variety of playability for the unit itself and other traction. I done the Class 323 railtour yesterday, now that was satisfying!

But each to their own. I feel this is appreciated overall more by the anorak railway types like myself. I don't think it necessarily appeals in the same way to the casual gamer or 'passing interest' railway types.

 

Thing is the blurring texture is doing it in places it didn’t used to do it before when watching streams etc. Watford junction for example wasn’t a problem before but with the 805 timetable it is doing it at Watford junction think this issue is going to be around for a little while
Longer than we think for console players DTG will be shifting focus onto the next rendition of bundled routes we are so used to annually now aka TSW 7 blurred textures will be the least of the interest. Who knows what exciting new bugs and issues TSW 7 will bring us

 

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they do something with the class 91 for tsw 7 to fish us back in, like what they did with the class 220 and Rivera line

 

I think there’s more to it in the 805. There’s general pops on all stock but when the 805 goes over crossing noses there is the usual sound of the wheel hitting the nose, but in the 805 it turns all the sound off while it does it so the motors go silent.

 

My own theory although it hasn't been officially clarified, is the Rivet are producing DTGs UK content while DTG are working on the core and the new flagship game that will replace TSW in the background... If that is the case that means third party developers may be working on outsourced content whilst DTG work exclusively at the core, so it may not be aslong as you'd think. However, they are only really in the early stages of combatting this head on.

TSW7 is 8 - 9 months away, but I think it would be in DTGs interest, given that console users make up the majority of players, to improve the base game, before any future releases as we simply can not have this carrying over on any new edition of the game in the way that blurring currently is.

 

As an aside, have to say I'm also enjoying the new timetable on WCMLS. Seems packed with trains, Currently doing an early DC line run from Euston to Watford and the railway is starting to come to life. As I departed Stonebridge Park, a set of 1972 stock was just poking its nose out of the Depot onto the Up DC line.

 

Lovely drive on birmingham - crewe
