Gwe Remaster: Appreciation And Discussion Thread

Official confirmation now. A nice way to start the weekend! Look forward to some more information when it shows on the roadmap.

 

Hopefully Skyhook can complete the timetable as well.

 

So when is this remaster coming out?
It's like the Loch Ness Monster, a bit like the Tadami, the thing that's supposed to be released for TSW3 but actually for TSW9...

 

Sometime between now and the end of February from what I understand

No need to blow your horn Antony. After more than a year on the Roadmap, it's a legitimate question.

 

Its also a good to point out that its one person that has been doing the Remaster in his spare time as well as also creating assets and the timetable and everything else he needs to get done for it to release. Just a shame people often forget this.

 

It's also a question that has been asked over and over and over again. We were told 1-2 months in the pre-Christmas reveals, so it's coming across all "are we nearly there yet?".

 

Far as I can tell, no one's forgotten what Liam has accomplished and no-one is blaming him for the delay. Cool your jets, guys.

 

It's okay, don't get all worked up, buddy. I'm just asking, not demanding anything, and I know Liam is alone.
We were told the end of the year, then the beginning of January, so if we can't even ask a question without some hothead yelling at us...
Anyway, you get my drift!

most likely just the timetable. Gonna guess the journey will still use the old timetable

 

Can we have OHL done so we can here our train going over points. After sitting in a noise ridden diesel for 25 minutes puts me off. We have 801 802 357 etc in GWR livery nice and peaceful no noise just the sounds of track and points ( which could be a little louder in cab ) any how can't wait for the update

 

So people do we think we are gonna this remaster this week last week if January. Or is gonna be mid February. What do we reckon im praying for midd week next week.

I reckon before the 29th of Feb is best bet.

 

If we’re all saying February then it begs the question why a gameplay video was released for the remaster back in December.

 

Yeah i thought it would of released week after that video.

 

1) Because they were off for the last 2 weeks of December and first 2 weeks of January, so better to get it out as part of their December marketing campaign
2) Because if they don’t post an update, people start asking if it’s ever getting released based on the history of some routes that have been routinely delayed. So it’s a lose-lose situation for them if they post it early or later.

I’m personally just happy we’re getting it and in sometime in Q1 at that.

 

I firmly believe that good things come to those who wait.
Admittedly there are a few things I've been waiting to see in TSW and have waited fairly patiently for 9 years but I suspect the GWE Remaster will be out very soon and that it will be worth the wait.

 

Just wait for the release (update) date to be announced. It’s not that hard.

 

Take youre time. Maybe its an option to decide for every release date question to push the release 1 week further (evil i know) If you do it will be silence here for sure xD

 

My personal suggestion would be, just sit back and don't place expectations of a release date. Just know it's in reaching distance now! Otherwise the anticipation will kill you...

I'm only not keeping tabs on it because I'm that excited I'll get impatient. So I'm just sitting back and letting it arrive when it arrives and not paying to much attention for now because I'd be tapping my foot impatiently like a bratty child!

Good things come to those who wait... We are nearly there!

 

Will the 101 have the JT improvements?

 

I think the only thing we’ve heard of rn is the new horn so I’m not sure but I’m sure the JT one would substitute.

 

We have to be patient. I'm looking forward to see how it looks. Winter is the best time to play where I live. Feet of snow and freezing temps limit outdoor activities.

 

Ha! You must be living in my neighborhood! This morning it was minus 22°C.

 

After a week of temperatures of -30 and up to -37 at night, today's -22 in the morning seemed like a thaw to me.

This is Russia, Western Siberia. Although, according to forecasters, this was abnormally cold. It was 15-20 degrees below normal.

 

Our friends in the US are also having a very cold spell at the moment. I promise I do have a life but I did spend much of yesterday watching US Rail Cams, it's about as much snow as I'll see this winter living here in Costa Del Essex.

I dont think so as the JT one has its region specific destinations. I'd assume the DLoGW 101 will get suspension though. Maybe a few bug fixes too.

So are we getting platform announcements with the remaster and also has any scenery been updated? This is going to be absolutely fantastic!!!
