Rivet getting into everyone’s good graces, this a rare sight. I hope this a trend of things to come. Remasters will earn you kudos points “cha ching”.
    ….
    ….
I wonder if Rivet have their sights set on re-visiting the WCL at some point too, with Liam’s help?

I think the Arosa line needs it a lot more than WCL IMO.

I assume that the 377 guard mode is just a little gameplay thing - as far as I know, rail services in the South have no guards.

i can tell you that guards do exist on services out of Brighton. (excluding Thameslink). I am a Brighton local so I know.

The original timetable was set very early as well around 2010 I believe (feel free to correct me) when there were more guards than now I'm fairly certain! I'm a local further down on the West coast way route :)

I do miss seeing the 313s about in real life honestly adding some variety. I did also get on a 171 from Brighton down to Eastbourne on one occasion as well many moons ago. :D

North Transpennine urgently needs an update more than WCL, though apparently due to the way it was put together it's a nightmare to work on so will probably be left to rot :/

Being on PC there is an enhancement pack that someone made as a mod which really helps but it's still dead in terms of the timetable and has some areas that seriously need fixing (like Manchester Victoria and the missing subway and the weird open concourse).

Another old route getting a remaster. Good stuff.
By the way what is “Rail Singing” ???. Never heard of this.

I think it's the sound where, for example, if you're on a platform you'll hear the rails make a sort of high pitched noise as a train approaches, usually at speed.

Glad to see ECW get a remaster as a local route to me (although London Commuter is my actual local one, I used to live almost opposite one of the stations on it). Definitely justifies buying the upcoming Game Play pack.

Maybe it's that whistling sound when a train is approaching ?

My only caveat with ECW being remastered is this route would really have benefited from an extension to Hastings or Ore in exchange for an upgrade fee.

A part of me is holding out hope that the section between the BML and Lewes (via Plumpton) might get added to the remaster to connect the options to London with a route hop but happy to see this DLC get some well needed attention.

    Looking forward to the upgrade

Hmm, maybe. I prefer WCL more myself so I’d rather see that updated.
I’d prefer a remake though with the 802, 158 and extended to Plymouth. It’s better to have mainlines connected.

Yep, and perhaps even beyond as the 171 is in true home territory beyond Ore.

Still, can’t be upset at what is being done here. Rivet’s redemption arc is a beautiful thing to witness!

Absolutely incredible annoucement, East Coastway was one of my first favourites because it was a little more than end to end with some variety.

It’s a still a route I go back to a play the odd service, not only that it feels like a quality route, some lovely scenery in places and plenty going on. Definitely deserving of a remaster!

Interesting, I played this route for first time in a very long time yesterday.
Only because I was working at the Amex last weekend and couldn't remember what the stadium looked like in the sim.
Glad to see some work coming on the route. I also noticed the lack of services on the route using platforms 1 & 2 at Lewes, which would make for some nice short runs to/from Eastbourne.

Just FYI, East Coastway and The Class 313 are currently 70% off on Xbox, so if anyone is thinking of getting one or both before the upgrade now is your Time.

I sincerely hope Rivet go back and fix some of their sub standard routes, then I might forgive them fully.

at least i am really really sure that seaford and ore diagrams from brighton do still have guards i am for sure they do.
based on rivet's track record. Yea they are not fixing any bugs because they cant give a dafted.
and is why i am really concerned with Class 171 and 377/3. Its going to be filled with so much bugs and inaccuracy with sounds or what not. They tackle holes within the type of trains that are missing in certain rules, filling them in and making a bad product out of it.

Are you concerned about the quality of Riviera, the WMR/CC class 170 and the GWE remaster?

Fife Circle could have been one of the greatest routes in TSW, but there's so much that still needs sorting. None of the issues I raised back then were ever sorted. The invisible signal at Waverley and the lack of paths for Scenario editor are two that still irk me to this day and don't get me started on scenery! :D
If there's to be a Scotrail HST pack, they not only need to go back and fix them, but perhaps add a few miles to so you can have a realistic calling point for an HST/Azuma, and not fudged ones like Skyhook were forced to do to make them playable.

And the running sounds which were broken shortly after release only to remain broken for 18 months or whatever until rivet wanted to promote their BCC 170 dlc and promised Fife circle would get the same improvements.

Here we are many months after that was promised on a live stream and still no sign of the promised improvements.

Yes in the bad old days that’s how things were, now quality control seems to be improving slowly but surely. I think JT started that trend, let’s hope it continues across the board. Rivet should go back and address those old failures.

I dunno that it is improving that much!!

We are still getting things that are releasing broken, or buggy and then never getting fixed.

Maybe but many of his points can be quiet valid to the Scenery or loco at hand.. Lets be honest Rivets track record isn't great so lets wait and see!

Yes but by way of some compensation we’re getting free remasters. Also releases that are broken are getting fixed like Crewe to Brum. Since when did rivet ever fix any of their old routes?

without having to get into another argument. if yall disagree that is fine, but much like another creator like Train Sim Society have said, you'd be only harming the game than helping to improve it.

dont let the free remaster distract you from bugs and issues that are still unfixed.

Very happy to hear that Ecw is being remastered, this is gonna make an already good route into something great and I'll be gladly purchasing the 171 pack along side, while it is certainly true that Rivet have a chequered history in Tsw imo they did a brilliant job with the Bcc 170 pack and I don't expect this to be any different.

This is why I refuse to buy the BCC pack and will probably hold out on the 171 too. Rivet need to sort out their past mistakes and not put their heads in the sand, even if their recent work is to a slightly higher standard.

After ECW there will only be 6 UK routes that need upgrading to TOD 4

    Northern Transpennine

    Tees Valley Line

    Bakerloo Line

    Isle of Wight (both versions)

    Brighton Mainline

    West Cornwall Local

My main hope for this remaster of one of my all time favourite routes is that they give the 377/4 on ECW the AP sounds used on the version included with the BML route as it’s one of the things that stops me from driving the longer distance services on the route towards Eastbourne

Bakerloo seems unlikely as the tunnel sections look okay and DTG have claimed the amount of work needed originally for the light baking pushed the project way over budget. The main thing Bakerloo needs is the AP reigning in so you don't get 20k or more for a full run.

BML, DTG are scared of that route for some reason. They couldn't even go back in and do Reigate properly, add the missing track section at Redhill or address missing lineside fencing.

River have consistently ignored any feedback about their routes so remaster seems unlikely. They still can't put right the erroneous speed restriction after Carbis Bay heading back to St Erth.

From what I understand, off the top of my head, I seem to remember Tyler saying a few months back that any faults with the 170 from the BCC pack will be fixed when the 171 pack is released as they have an even more updated sound pack that will then be added to the existing Turbostars to improve their sound. So the BCC 170s and ScotRail 170 are due to have the updated sounds.

Fingers crossed it is rolled out on the same day the Class 171 pack.

It was the last route to release pre tod4 (aka tsw3) it doesn't have tod4 lighting itself but it does have other features that tsw3 launched with such as third rail electrical sparks.

I feel like Train Sim Society finds a middle ground. Just the truth. DC4260 is always negative. And there are many who are definitely suck ups as you said.
