Hate to be that guy when it comes to Rivet Games but ECW is doomed if Rivet has any involvement given their (pardon the pun...) Track Record of DLC for TSW over the years.

 

That ain't happening lol. As much that it deserves one, again its not happening, they ain't focusing on any US remaster like that lol

 

Europe is not the same as the EU. And I imagine the UK has been using DD/MM/YY format since before originally joining what was the Common Market.

Further to that it appears they were involved in the GWE remaster which looks great from last night's stream.

 

BML deserves a remaster as much as NY Trenton.

 

Clearly you don't have any idea the massive scope of Rivet's involvement with TSW. Yes they have released some absolute turd dlc over the years and have no community interaction, BUT they do deliver some quality work including the Class 170, Cardiff City Network and Riviera Line more recently. I'd go as far to say WCMLs could have been decent too (when released) but it was clear time ran out and DTG rushed it out the door with the timetable clearly being unfinished. It's likely that the UK Core Route for TSW7 will also be developed by Rivet Games. At this point in time Rivet seem to be doing a consistently decent job.

 

Historically you may have had a point, and I'd agree with their content of the past...

But can sincerely say, I think there has been a massive change in Rivet behind the scenes. I'm only speculating here, but it does feel as if they have taken on the necessary criticism and done something about it, like recruiting more staff and taking onboard more talent. As has already been pointed out Riveria Line was really good, as was the BCC Class 170 timetable.

I was always one of Rivets biggest critics in the past, but I'll happily change my opinion when I can see evidence they have changed for the better, and this is one of those cases. I acknowledge the past DLC and it's still a valid criticism, but going forward I'm happy to say I think they have changed. So as far as I'm concerned I'm wiping the slate clean...

ECW is also within reaching distance which is exciting and looking forward to the return of a modern upto date Southern Region route!

 

Rivet should remaster Arosaline to show if they have improved their ways!

 

I also think Harlem Line - NY to North White Plains deserves a remaster. The lighting is outdated and that route seems to have been forgotten about. I don't usually hear the devs mentioning that route at all. I don't believe ATC/PTC works properly on the AI trains and the scenery can also use a refresh. It should happen in conjunction with the highly anticipated New Haven line route

 

Is NYT really remaster-worthy? It is a TSW3 route with all of the features that brings.

There's features been brought since but I don't feel that justifies a remaster. There's a reason every remaster as yet has been a TSW2020/2 route.

Much bigger things to do before NYT, in my opinion.

What it really needs is a rework of its signals and safety systems. It also heavily reused assets from the older NEC route which could definitely use a refresh. We also now have the Arrow III and ALP45 that should be worked into a new timetable. Beyond all that, just comparing NYT to Morristown shows how far behind NYT is with NYC skyline and many other scenery assets, performance, etc. Of course not to mention suspension and announcements. Plus it has basically needed to be fixed since it originally came out. So I would say it is remaster-worthy.

But will it happen? No.

 

very unlikely. NY trenton is a good route which i do play from time to time but i think most tod3/2 routes are more likely to get a remaster

 

The one remaster we should get is Sherman Hill. A Sherman Hill Remaster needs the following, in addition to the new gameplay features:

I wouldn’t count it out. If you look at the update history for the route, it’s been receiving small updates every year since the route released. There were 9 updates for the route last year alone.

 

Yes, their track record isn’t good, but let’s not write them off just yet. They did an amazing job with the Wmr / Xc Class 170 pack and the Riviera line. Liam is also involved with the ECW remaster & loco pack so the quality control won’t go unchecked.

 

Worth noting here that the reason GWE:R is so delayed was because Liam had to rescue the mess that was WCMLS after release. So yes, a Rivet and Grump Dog combo should ensure quality.

I think Rivet have mainly turned things around since the corners cut with CCN, and I agree with your assessment of the DLC you mention.

 

I am not sure, If a "simple" remaster of that route would be enough. The way as the mountains look and builded - I have the feeling it would need a whole rebuilding. Plus replacing of these LOVE sounds of the rolling stocks with complete new ones.
So nice it would be, that will never happen.

 

Yes I fear you are correct here and it will never get done, just wishful thinking on my part. An absolutely stunning route in real life reduced to a caricature by Rivet!

 

l cringed when l saw that Rivet were involved and wasn’t going to make a comment. However l agree that they have an appalling record of sloppy and shoddy, inaccurate route releases ever and l have no confidence in their ability to produce anything decent. I will wait to see how this turns out as ECW wasn’t brilliant in the first place, but as for Rivet, they won’t ever appease me until WCL is corrected to make it look properly accurate.

If they have had a recent turn around, then this did not show in Cardiff City Network as it is full of basic scenery errors and there are flaws in the Riviera Line too, both l believe had Rivet involvement too.

They should spend their time correctly all their routes starting with WCL and Arosalinie.

 

I know I've changed my mind on Rivet, but I think your concerns are perfectly valid considering previous DLC. I'm hoping in time their improvements become more evident and bring other sceptical players onboard once they see the improvements.

Being the devils advocate, Rivet have got to understand it will take a little while for others to see the improvements. But equally I want to acknowledge the improvements I've noticed so their Devs can see that there work is paying off and being noticed.

To be positive, keep going Rivet your quality trajectory is going in the right direction!

 

ECW probably the low hanging fruit of their portfolio, so far as a remaster is concerned.
Arosa and WCL basically need starting over.
And TBH, with Arosa already driven numerous times in each direction I would prefer they either jog on and finish Bernina to St Moritz or do a section of the RhB we haven’t seen yet.

 

Awesome! I hope they can add the BR Class 455 into the game after/during the remastering... I would really like to try it on the East Coastway DLC,

This annoucement all seems a bit last minute, the website doesn't work very well, words missing on the bios of the included locos (Firefox on tablet).

well, if they had released the thomas dlcs tied to this game separately, it would have been much better
it was completely out of place to release the thomas dlcs tied to tsw
they have nothing to do with each other

 

I'm looking forward to Thomas - the Isle of Sodor should always have been in the plan - my train mad son is looking forward to it so much (much more than you would expect for a 10 year old).

 

Atleast this will be a game on its own platform specifically aimed at a particular market. I think this should of been how Thomas was released initially rather than being in TSW... So fair play to DTG here, they've created a separate game and the Island of Sodor. Not my cup of tea but good luck to those who like this type of thing (and the children too obviously!).
