How about giving us more variety with the Class 31, Class 33 and Class 45? Just make them Livery Designer compatible or, if this isn't possible, create 2 or 3 extra liveries to go with the ONE that we have at the moment. If the modders can make a couple of liveries for the existing models then I'm sure that DTG could do better?
The 37 is crying out for various versions and liveries - not least BR Blue and a 37/4 in Regional Railways livery. 33 and 40 both need the sounds improving and of course a Blue 33. (Also Blue 31 for that matter). HST we need a retro version with Paxman Valenta sounds.
They have. They just call it “Expert”. I hope we do get more expert loco’s down the road WITH updated more realistic sounds.
The base 31 is BR blue already I agree though, especially the 37 as it really is dated (even moreso than the 45) and while I'm not the biggest fan of 33s (scrap them all I say, usually very loudly whilst I'm squatting underneath one trying to hook the vac-bags together on buckeye stock) I do think the in-game one could do with a little refresh and a new coat of paint, ideally into something BR Blue. Defo right on the HST front too
Would love the 31, 45 and 47 to be updated to include working headcode boxes like on the 52. All could be used on DLoGW and NTP as well. I dont see older BR locos being covered right now with the boom in modern DLCs but maybe further down the line.
Unfortunately they usually just include the improved versions of locos in new DLCs and make you pay for it, instead of porting the fixes and improvements back to the original loco.
Yes to all of this. The Class 37 sounds and exhaust dynamics are so poor compared to the TSC Armstrong Powerhouse version. Ive said this before, but if DTG released that version I would pay £20-£30 for it no problem.
The most obvious one to remaster is the 66 surely? As "boring" as it is, it's been the basis of freight in this country since the early 00s until just about now. Although ngl I'd find the 37 much more fun.
I wasn't asking for an expert version I was just wondering if DTG could quickly make extra liveried versions of what we already have just to get more variety in the game. For example a green Peak. It doesn't have to be perfect. Just slap a green livery on it with the BR emblem and "bingo" we have something extra for Peak Forest. Ditto a green CL31 (or any of the many liveries these have carried). Or maybe a blue CL33? We can't easily add liveries to these locos........but DTG can.
I assume you were being facetious but in fact the BR101 Expert did start out as a remaster of sorts, but then it turned into a full fledged DLC with an extra vehicle and probably 2-3x the dev hours spent as compared to the original DLC (I wasn't involved with the original, but if I compare then time it has taken me in DLCs I did setup & Simugraph for, like the RP/FT Vectron, that seems about right). Point being, calling any Expert DLC a remaster might be stretching the definition of "remaster" a bit too far
I wasn’t being facetious lol. It’s just the way I kind of see it but I understand what you’re saying too. And I do agree with you. I do apologise if you felt I was being harsh. I wasn’t meaning to come across like that. Just my wording lol.
Most of the diesels are okay, I think the 31 and 40 for example have held up quite well. The sounds on the 45s aren't brilliant, sometimes at certain throttle positions I've noticed it goes almost silent. I'd love to see backdated versions of most of the BR diesels someday, I think it would be interesting to see the 86, 31 & 45 with their original headcode blinds for an early 70s look.
Especially the MK3s... TGS (both GWE and EMT) give us a guards interior for proper guard mode (the latter has the interior modeled but cant access it). And GWE's TF to have the one end's gangway doors to be openable (because i cant use it aside from having to place it in 1 end but cant do multiple at the same time without having the train to be fully walkthroughable).
The 37 needs competely re-doing. The sounds are awful and the exterior model (specifically the nose) is completely wrong.
Wouldn't the Class 101 be classed as remastered? JT updated it from the TVL/NTP version. That's what a remaster is, no? Updating old stuff to newer and/or better standards. The Class 47 as well could also count. JT updated this twice (once for BPO, once for P2C).
While we are waiting in anticipation to see and hear what Firefly have done with the Electrostars for MV, would be great if that could be ported over to the existing 377's and 387's.
That's true, JT are effectively remastering some of the Diesels. I'll be interested to hear more about the 20, possibly next week. If you're reading this discussion JT, the peak and 37 next please!
Reading through this thread, I'd love to see a 33 in BR Blue, Dutch Engineers and West Coast Railways liveries.
It would be great if DTG could add extra liveries to the existing models, and that should also include passenger and freight rolling stock (e.g. Southern Region Mk1's?). The European routes frequently use the same wagon designs, and adding extra liveries to them would be welcome. Especially when the number of repaints that you can have is strictly limited. This restriction is getting more ridiculous with each new route release.
i think that is called a gameplay pack. (i dont think they like free liveries and will always lock them behind paywall much like the TSC market place stuff.)
They should at least offer up the opportunity to pay for these if people want to tho. It just seems like a missed revenue stream for DTG as well.
the br187 needs a big remaster or even remake bc the loco rn is in such a bad state rn its not even funny anymore
i personally wont buy them. but i do agree that additional liveries should've been free. Unless you have a big pack like the HST farewell pack. Then i really dont see the warrant for a dedicated gameplay pack when you barely get anything to offer from just the livery. Dont even bother with scenarios.
