Saw in the latest newsletter AP are doing an enhancement pack for the jt 222. Nice surprise to read but ties in nicely with the MML extension to Corby
Valid point I wonder if it will be split into packs one focusing on the new extension to the mml and one for say ECML focusing on GC and Lumo
Why have they made such a big deal about the engine working like a genset and providing power to traction motors, isnt that the way 90% of modern diesel traction systems work, Im confused I think
Make it sound better when promoting it for sale. One things first sure. If AP are doing it you can gurantee the train will be like a brand new one. Any packs I have gotten from AP and there are lots basically everything has been worth the money.
In one sense it's just standard AP bollocksology, in another way they're saying the physics will be improved, which is useful functionality.
Tbh it’s the route extension to Corby I am looking forward to nice decent run with the 360 from ATS website
Isn't this explained? Firstly, it's unusual for a DMU (in the UK at least). Secondly, it changes the way the engine behaves at different speeds. Most diesels rev up at the same rate regardless of the speed they're going. Whether you find the explanation interesting or not is another matter of course... . AP are always going to nerd out about anything that affects the sound. You won't get that, it's set before electrification. Thank god too. Far more interesting with a much wider scope for scenarios over different eras.
It was the way they explained it instead of saying classes 220,221 and 222. It made it seem like the 222 was different to the Voyagers.
The information about the Corby Extension was given last year https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/ap-extending-mml.95518/ From APs Newsletter November 2025 "We are very pleased to announce that we are extending our MML: London to Bedford Enhancement Pack. Running from Bedford to Corby, stopping at Wellingborough and Kettering on the way, this extension offers 30 miles along a fascinating piece of railway with its split-level slow and fast lines. One minute the fasts are higher than the slows, and the next, vice versa! Set in the same era as the London to Bedford section, 2011 to 2019, this characterful route is captured before the arrival of the overheard wires."
Armstrong powerhouse have posted a few pictures showing this off over the weekend over on the Facebook page. Going to be another great release I reckon.
I will probably get it at some point, but given I don't have the MML Enhanced or any of the JT MML routes it'll have to wait.
