So what have you all got in the sales for the festival of rail,

picked up some german content myself as really enjoying that just now.

Tempted by the expert DB 101 but i think that is WAYYYY to advanced for me just now :D

Nothing at the moment. Mildmay and MIA not in my collection but not at just 20% off for city electric bus routes similar to those already owned. Saving my Steam Wallet for the big hitters like Medway Valley, JT Preston to Crewe and Trent Valley.

Nothing. Have stopped buying any TSW's DLC on sale since TSW5

That could be its redeeming feature. Also hanging on to my credit as the route extension for SimRail should drop in the next few weeks (hopefully).

I picked up the Stuttgart route though I'm not sure I'll keep it I hope the timetable is better than the scenarios.

I'll probably be spending a fair amount on TSC though. I've recently been getting into Steam Trains and preserved railways and Matrix Trains coaches seem very reasonably priced especially in the sale. I have most of the GWR stock so will take a look at what else is available.

The Matrix coaches are lovely. Got a fair few myself. Prices very pocket friendly too, even without a sale discount.

Surprised WCML Birmingham - Crewe is not 20% off on Steam given it is on the Xbox store. I would have bought that route along with the 805 Evero (not on sale) had it been so they've missed out on both the initial and the additional purchase there (if this feedback even gets noted).
So all I have bought this time is Stuttgart - Heilbronn, mainly for the DB BR 140. I am pleased to finally be able to use the substitution mod on trainsimcommunity to replace it with the DB BR 110 on freight for Linke Rheinstrecke. (I had been making do with using the DB BR 155 sub mod!)

Given that I haven't touched TSW for around a year now, I haven't gotten anything yet. I'm thinking about Salzburg - Rosenheim, since it's 90% off at the moment, but I need to check some gameplay videos from it first to see what's there.

I'll be probably installing TSW soon again to check the updated GWE, so I'll also think about any of the layers I'm missing, but that only if they are at least 50% off.

it’s a fabulous route for that price, the 111 is fun to drive, there’s good variety of gameplay and the scenery is nice

Just bought the TSW6 Standard Edition - not particularly fussed about the NY route but it did allow me to get Riviera at £17.99, so that was enough for me to push the button.

I didn't buy Riviera initially because I wasn't that interested in the 802, but for some amazing reason the 805 has got me interested in these IETs at last, and I've been itching to try the GWR version since. I don't know why the Azuma didn't grab my attention in the same way as the 805 - maybe that stretch of ECML? But anyhow, I'm finally a fan.

Well, apart from when I find that my seat all the way to Paddington IRL is little more than a supporting bar with a flat bit of knackered "cushion"... not such a fan then :D:D:D

Allegedly Mark Hopwood (GW MD) has conceded the current IET seats are unfit for purpose and there are plans to refurbish. Mind the creamy canvas type seats fitted to the initial build were even worse.

I just bought Salzburg-Rosenheim for €3.05 thanks to bundles for the TSW5 version on Steam. Couldn't resist such a discount

101 Expert is 30% off.... TSG stuff never seems to get any more than 15%-20% discount. It´s not getting any better than this. Also Frankfurt S-Bahn at 60% looks good.

20 euros for 3 routes, I'm very happy.

Niddertalbahn is 35% off. TSW3 version once was 40% off. Takes a lot more patience, but even TSG stuff eventually gets discounted.

Nothing, I'm waiting for a good price on Mildmay (and wait for the extension) because I don't think 20% is enough.

    Good stuff :)
I’m also waiting to pick up a steam bundle for TSW6. I have my eye on the deluxe edition, which I plan to buy sometime this weekend.
I own roughly 95% of all content on PlayStation, but I want to have a UK only collection on steam.

Got the cargo v4 military pack, 50% off - not really something of interest to me but completes all layers required on GWE:R that I own

Might get the S-bahn Frankfurt route next week as is 60% off, I don't mind travelling as a passenger on the German routes, rarely tend to drive, if I do, it's the ICE's

Agree about Birmingham Crewe. I would have gotten it at 20% off but no sale this time around.
Other than that, nothing of interest.

Well, I got the F59PH, since it was half off and everyone says how good it is. Disappointed there was no discount at all on Birmingham-Crewe.

I've been looking at the Salzburg-Rosenheim route which is currently 90% off, which is good. However reviews say it is quite bugged, which is bad.

Does anyone know if the bugged rescue mission has been fixed?

    I actually picked up Salzburg-Rosenheim. For $3.99 couldn't resist.
I also decided to bite the bullet and buy Birmingham Crewe. I already have the 805 so it seemed to make sense.

Is Salzburg-Rosenheim used in layers for any other routes? Because I'm not really interested in the route itself, but if it adds traffic to other german stuff, then I may get it.

Also what is worth getting for the GWE remaster? Which UK add-ons add the most noticeable traffic increase worth getting?

Picked up Diesel Legends for a few bucks.
    That's about it.
To be fair, I already have most of the TSW content I want.
The rest I'm not interested in at all.
I gave the Koln-Aachen another look given a remaster is coming but... nah.
Decided I still don't care for it, not even on sale.
Not every route is for every person.

bought the Bahnstrecke Salzburg - Rosenheim Route which was a steal at 90 percent off and must say this is one of the best bargains i bought lovely route really busy with the layers and stock is fantastic feel like i have stole it from dtg.

Still REALLY REALLY tempted by the expert 101 is it really complex to drive ?

I bought Salzburg - Rosenheim too, nice route, great scenery. I can't say the route is very busy, I'm missing some layers and maybe I drove at the wrong time of day. I do not own the 363 from RSN and also not Semmeringbahn for the Taurus. I saw the BR425 from Bremen - Oldenburg, the BR628 from Niddertalbahn and the BR101 do I miss other layers?

It's a perfect long route for driving the BR101 btw, with quite some stops. You only can't reach top speed, it's mostly driving between 110 and 130 kmp/h and on some small sections 140 or 160 km/h.

It is by far the most complex in game and once you know how you have to do things to get it moving, it is very rewarding.
The fault system of that thing is incredible and the amount of different faults seems to be infinite.
The cab car basically doubles the complexity and is at least the same quality as the 101.
For the timetables, be aware of the Frankfurt-Fulda one being a bit broken for some cargo services blocking the mainline. A rework is supposedly in the works.

If you ask me, this dlc is a reason why the Br 145 expert will be a first minute buy. (and because i buy all TSG stuff anyways)

Salzburg-Rosenheim is a great route. Scenic as heck with a nice combination of twisty and speed running. Brings with it the BR 111, which is a wonderful loco; synergises nicely with Semmeringbahn which has the OBB Taurus.

    Buggy? Not in my experience.

The only thing that tempts me is the Glossop Line at $11 Australian. Was looking at Birmingham to Crewe, but as an Xbox player, I have decided against it as the 'fixes' are just to play it with fewer layers. Seems like a raw deal even at sale price.

I play it without turning on expert mode (I don't like the glitches). The locomotive is magnificent. The sounds are simply amazing. The only difficulty if you play on consoles is - You need to fly along the entire train with your own eyes to see all the cars and enter the data into the calculator to calculate the train data. It's extremely difficult to determine whether a train is full. But these are just two services on the Bremen-Oldenburg route. There is a program available on the PC that shows all the cars on the train and whether they are loaded. This reduces the time required for calculations significantly and they can be done in pause mode. However, if you have a console, 99% of services can be done on standard data.Simply enable security systems, simply press the confirmation button and quickly configure the GSMR (or you don’t have to configure it).

    Layers:
DB BR 363 from Ruhr Sieg Nord
DB BR 101 from Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr
DB BR 103 from Linke Rheinstrecke
    DB BR 628 from Niddertalbahn
    ÖBB 1116 from Semmeringbahn

Those are the officially listed layers as of TSW5. I doubt it's been changed since TSW6.
