Is there a possibility for the blue 2+4 HST to be added as a substitute for the GWR version on the Riviera Line? I believe they used to run as 'classic sets' before the sliding door versions fully took over :)

Yeah I looked down all the listed 47 variants and it just came up with the Flying Scotsman Railtour ECS movements, no Night Riviera.

Well I’ve only just surfaced from playing it to say how good it is! Excellent work Liam.
To all devs this is how we want routes to look; BUSY.

Anyone else having an issue with layers not showing or have I missed something? Despite owning the content, London Underground services aren’t showing in the timetable. I’ve got layers enabled in both the settings and in the timetable itself

You know, to be honest I find it rather annoying. I was driving a 66 service yesterday and it was so loud I had to reduce the notches to subdue it.

it’s incredible isn’t it? I’ve just ran one of the 802 services to Paddington from Reading and it’s unbelievably dense. It takes the game to whole new level

Wanted to give an update here. Firstly, thank you all for the kind words. It's great to see a lot of people enjoying the remaster. I'm really happy with how it launched and the reception it has received, so thank you all :)

I have been reading through the threads on here and checking Discord for feedback. There's a few things issues or tweaks needed that I have noted down and will be looking to get into a patch as soon as I can.

I had this too, restoring license didnt solve it. Deleting mildmay did. Seems to be an issue that occurs when a certain amount of layer DLCs is installed. Luckily mildmay doesn't add too much except some hardly seen AI.

The audio improvements on this are impressive. I hope all the remasters have better audio included. I did notice that this varies a lot by route. Cardiff for example (as much as I find the gameplay limiting) has great track sounds and carriage rock, etc.

Hats off to Liam and to DTG, this free upgrade is everything you promised.

Paddington now feels properly busy, and when driving peak services you encounter a whole variety of traffic in both directions.

The visual upgrades are wonderful (the 166 in particular looks much better to me) and it runs smoothly on PS5 even with all layers enabled.

The icing on the cake is that passenger announcements on the HST and 166 now work on the Riviera line too.

Now I can’t wait for the remastered East Coastway …

Hi DTG Liam really enjoying the remaster thank you it’s incredible! Not sure if they are questions or already something you will fix in patch but 1) will Paddington be fully opened up so there is not the restricted static passenger area ? 2) will there be Waterloo services with midland 158 standing in as south western railway at Reading? Currently only 166 for the Gatwick and redhill on that side but it’s usually busy with Waterloo services too.

The London Waterloo services uses Electric Multiple Units in reality on this line. The most appropriate sub would to have a 'fake' Class 450 (a reskin from the Class 350). Although I'm not sure how this will impact layers and performance.

Quick survey: do folks familiar with the RL trains prefer the new HST and 166 soundsets, or It'sYa's very good but venerable soundmod?

Just done a night service in the 166. Very good, very atmospheric. Whether it's because everything is currently new and shiny but the lights from the oncoming trains just felt like they hit differently. Top quality work.

Not technically remaster related but what will the barrier coaches in the HST Farewell pack be able to couple to? Can't remember if I've asked before or not

They will have both hook and buckeye couplers

    1) Nothing more to Paddington
    2) No more services planned to be added

No date yet but hoping to get it out soon

I thought I heard the TSW6 tune when on foot at Reading Depot. Turned out to be the music festival mastery reward, where new music is playing. Nice addition :)

My opinion of TSW has been quite low for a while now, but credit where credit is due, the GWE remaster is really, really good.

Despite some bugs which i'm sure are core-related, I've been enjoying the remaster a ton- the timetable really is a vast improvement over the original, and it's quite busy now!

Just did a couple chained services driving a Class 66 loaded HOA train from Reading to Hayes and then unloading aggregates, and running around for the emptys to head back west. Not sure if it's a new one but the slower pace gave the opportunity to appreciate the scenery improvements (bridge reverb works hooray) and all the different passing traffic- great stuff all around!

Not strictly remaster-related, but have they improved the sounds of passing AI trains recently? In both this and the new Class 805 timetables, the passing traffic seems to have much clearer audio that is audible from farther away, but maybe i'm imagining things lol

Genuinely cannot understate how much I've been enjoying this remaster over the last few days. The new lighting alone does wonders for the route and coupling that with the significantly enhanced scenery, ridiculous attention to detail and timetable overhaul, the whole thing is exquisite and definitely brings the route up to a whole new standard. There are a few bugs here and there but most of them have been brought up elsewhere so I don't really need to repeat.

I think one of the only things I can think of that's a mild let-down is the lack colourful night lighting at Paddington station. With the lighting upgrade I was really looking forward to seeing this as it's one of the more unique features of Paddington among UK stations and it and feels a tad empty without it. Of course there's also the lack of a 387, but fingers crossed for something later down the line ;)

Anyway, fantastic job Liam. You knocked it out the park.

The original version of this route was the first time I'd played any kind of train sim since... well, I guess Southern Belle on the Speccy, which I had as it was on the freebie tape with Your Sinclair.

But playing the route again, albeit in a much improved form, five and a bit years on did give a bit of a Proustian rush.

DTG Liam you're a legend. Not only to those of us (most of us?) who'd stopped using an old route because it compared unfavourable with more modern DLC. But you're also a legend to your employers who, I hope, have privately rewarded you in some way for all the work you've done in your spare time.

If I was asked who I'd want producing my favourite routes in TSW, it's you Liam.

A 158 at Reading for SWT/SWR services? No chance, it's 3rd rail territory as already pointed out.
A better idea would be to fake up a 700 as an unbranded 707.
707s were testing to Reading then and came into service in the second half of the year after SWT lost the franchise.
A faked up 707 would also allow for some potential AI at Clapham on BML - that and London Overground is so needed - and as AI on the upcoming Richmond extension to Mildmay line.

Did you see my post where I sat in the driver's seat but became absorbed into the NPC driver's body, with eyeballs, mouth and hair freakily showing on the screen?

It happens in the early journey mode when you're asked to choose between three services. Great idea to have the choice, but either don't have a NPC driver already sitting in the driver's seat, or if there is the game needs to remove the NPC as soon as the player sits in the same seat (that might be a core thing).

    I know it's too late.

But I wholeheartedly apologise for being....well I can't swear but use whatever word you fancy, for my negativity.

It's absolutely fantastic, any errors I've found so far are either easily sortable or consistent with errors on other routes (Texture issues for example.)

Was it worth the wait? Yeah absolutely. Do I think it was announced way to early? In hindsight yeah.

It's an utter triumph and I hold my hands up and say I was wrong.

I second that! GWR ran 387/1s between Paddington and Hayes & Harlington throughout 2017, so it would be appropriate for the time period.

But I don’t want to seem greedy, what we have been given is wonderful in itself.

This graphics, sounds, and timetable are all very much improved. It's like getting to play and enjoy GWE for the first time all over again, but exponentially better in every way. To me, Liam has taken a route that was mostly forgotten and turned it into a must-play. He has received many accolades from others and they are all well-deserved. Congratulations sir, and thank you.

I had that too… weird.. reloading doesn’t solve the issue so it’s not really doable. And I’ve just done a service 1P51 and the driver/incab recording (not me) has a cold.. he keeps sneezing and sniffing…. I presume nobody has escaped the cold and flu ravaging the nation… lol…

AS a newbie, I have to say that this game keeps impressing me.. I’m sure there are issues .. well we know there are.. BUT the sheer volume of runs available is utterly immense.. sure you’re running up and down the same bits of track in different trains.. I’ve not had many interruptions on services (random events?) …

Interestingly I’ve found that by noting services you encounter via track view, you can run those and then run past other services you’ve driven… I’ve almost taken to waving at myself … lol.. ie.. take a 15:00 service from Reading and you’ll meet a 15:00 from Paddington.. do them both, and more, and you can have your own version of time travel :)

The more I get into this the more I think I’ve made a decent choice… I made a comment elsewhere about the braking element seeming the same on all trains… a bit more exploring has proved that to be mostly wrong.. I suggest not leaving the braking too late on a 166… pressing harder and harder on R2 doesn’t make it stop any quicker.. LOL

Just wanted to say, firstly, an absolutely amazing job - I certainly wish many older routes in TSW would get such treatment.

Anyway, regarding my feedback and/or suggestion, but I'd also love to see a GWE remaster featuring a separate 802 timetable. In my opinion, I'd even settle for a less realistic example of the route staying exactly the same i.e. with the OHLE not complete, but having the 802 run in diesel mode instead.

What frustrates me is that having the 802 in TSW, but can't go all the way to Paddington, arguably it's most important destination - especially when Riviera is in a slightly more modern time period etc. I like when routes which have services that link up, which means longer, more immersive gameplay rather than different eras.

Just to be clear, this is purely my opinion, and certainly doesn't mean having anything against the chosen era with the iconic HST timetable.

Moreover, one other thing I forget to mention above about probably my favourite thing of the remaster - the 484 representing London Underground services. They might be incredibly short, but they are really enjoyable and different!

    That is the slight frustration.

Would be nice to think behind the scenes this is a springboard for GWE 2.0, adding Oxford and/or Swindon plus the three outer TV branches (Henley, Marlow and Windsor). Basically similar to what was done with Dresden to Riesa last year.

One thing I have now seen is with the midland mainline hsts the power cars tend to pop in very noticeably close by when your driving another service
As for the unbranded rolling stock I've got no problem with it, the 350 looks identical to me from the 360,(Just watched a drivers eye view film from the route and passing 360s looked identical to the made up 350s in the game) ,yes you can nit pick the number on the unit if you want to
Gos the same for the underground stock it adds life to the route ,still had no problems with blurry textures and it runs pretty solid other than the hst bug as mentioned above,I'm on ps5

I was hoping to do PZ-Pad when I bought this game.. The 802 is the usual train on PadPz so it’d be nice to have that train but maybe the 802 didn’t exist back in 2017 or wasn’t on that route… I guess someone here will know more but as you say the HST is a nice piece of kit!

    Found a bug

    timetable 2016
    Class 52
    Timetable code 6V19

click get started and the timetable scenario just ends straight away because of passing a signal at danger but after several restarts it will work and after another restart will fail again because of a signal
