Out Now Great Western Express: Remastered - Out Now!

Yes that's normally the case across most/all routes, in this instance though there was no "end time" - possibly because I had finished one service then crossed the station and boarded another one - though unlike previous versions it did update the "in-cab" timetable rather than retaining n the old one. That said, I saved before exiting and upon reloading it does seem to trigger the end point however unfortunately it causes TSW6 to hang and due to some very bad coding it takes over the foreground so I can't even get task manager to kill it... Obviously some glitch with TSW there.

Anyway, been for another couple of spins, all good! Well done on a great job Liam

 

I keep getting crashes when running the 802 (I haven't had them on any other trains, though I haven't tried all of them). The message is:

I don't have much in the way of mods, except God Mode and JetWash's tweaks. Anyone else seeing this?

 

I don't know if I missed a memo or something (it's been a while since I actively followed news for this remaster), but wasn't there supposed to be a 387 layer for the Heathrow Express services? Or am I completely misremembering?

Either way, this is a stunning remaster. Seeing Paddington full of HSTs is very nostalgic. Love it.

 

Check for spikees cabcam mod - that caused it for me.

It doesn't work with some of the update (was a TSW5 mod).

 

So they can release dlc when steam staff are in office so in case any issues arise, they can be resolved quickly rather than release it early, nobody is in office and you have to wait several hours without staff in office over at steam.

 

Where I can find a good tutorial to switch power from electric to diesel in the 802?

 

I've had another couple of system crashes, I think it is down to loading a save. In this latest instance it was the class 66, it was running fine up until Maidenhead then TSW froze up. I rebooted the system, reloaded the save but went to the positionable camera (8 on keyboard) and moved it to Maidenhead station, the train passed through with no issue but the second I switched to the cab camera it locked up again.

I'm thinking it's some core issue that is being triggered by loading savegames. I will try and see if the same thing happens on another route.

what? they release DLC at 6pm UK time which is after the work day is over. if this was the case they would release it in the morning UK time

 

You've misunderstood the point here. DLC are released at 10am on the West Coast of the US which is when Steam techs are beginning the workday and are available to deal with any launch issues. Any earlier and Steam techs would not be available. 10am UK time is the dead of night in Washington State.

Somehow this isn't a problem for the hundreds of updates and game releases that happen every day at any conceivable time because Steam is a giant multi-billion dollar platform that operates all over the world. Releases have to be pre-approved by Steam (to ensure it isn't malware or whatever) but once that's done actual "go live" time is entirely up to the developers.

I'm confused what problem Dovetail could have that steam "techs" would fix. Dovetail is responsible for their own games, nobody from Valve is monkeying around with TSW6 in the Unreal editor to fix signaling issues or whatever.

Edit: also my original point was that I don't understand why they insist on such late releases, since obviously there's nothing stopping them from pushing updates early! The GWE update was done "in the dead of night in Washington State" as you say.

 

It was the Spikee cab cam mod (which I'd somehow convinced myself I hadn't installed on TSW6). I've removed it and all is now 100% with your fantastic remaster!

 

The culprit is Spikee's Cab Cam mod. Delete it; it's out of date anyway

Yes

 

Drivable, they are a stand-in for the 360s that worked Heathrow Connects.
Do you have WCML South, and if so, is it installed?
