Gwe Remaster: Appreciation And Discussion Thread

A feature I turned off as soon as the constant coughing and sniffing started. I get enough of that when travelling IRL (and they always sit by me or near by me) so couldn't be doing with that in a game. I was hopping for a mod which cut that out but there doesn't seem to be one

 

Oh we went one better than that the other week coming back from Reading to Swindon. It was a 5 car Cucumber vice a 9 car so we ended up sat at a table opposite a guy, who spent the entire journey dressing down his wayward daughter via a video conference call on his laptop. He went on and on at here about her failings, wrong choice of friends, you let me/your mother/your brother etc. down and poor core values in a voice loud enough half the coach could hear. More like a manager rollicking an employee than a father/child heart to heart!

When we got off the train, my missus turned to me and said, "No wonder his daughter's the way she is with a father like that!" Not the sort of talk you have remotely let alone in a train full of people.

 

I hate having to sit with a random person or people on public transit. At least last time I had to it was a 150 with 3+2 seating so the random person wasn't like right next to me.
(Just to be clear I have nothing against that person in particular I just like having my own personal space)

I actually have one major complaint that is ruining this remaster for me. The textures of the food in the cafe on the 2nd floor of Reading station are not anywhere near accurate enough. I should be able to smell them from my TV when playing, it’s pretty game breaking for me unfortunately…

 

I'm sorry, but how is it disrespectful for players to point out issues that they may have with the route? If a person is saying that they have blurry textures, that's not disrespectful. It just pointing out a clear issue. Are all bug reports all of a sudden disrespectful now because devs worked so hard to make the product?

I think it is you that should get a grip.

Honestly, there seems to be some in this forum that constantly try to dismiss any criticism of this product. I have no doubt alot of work went into the remaster given that the route is much busier and but that does not excuse the fact that the texture issue still plagues this game and players in a discussion thread have a right to point that out. These forums aren't here just to have heaps of praise all the time and no complaints on issue affecting the game. Criticism on legitimate issues in the game shouldn't be dismissed just because you don't like what you are hearing or because someone worked hard on the product

Console players make up the majority of the TSW player base. Without consoles TSW would not be what it is today and as such you wouldn't be able to enjoy remasters such as these.

 

It’s not that it’s disrespectful, it’s just already been answered in here that it has nothing to do with the route. It’s a core issue that is being worked on and we have threads dedicated to discussing and asking about it that would be better suited for those questions because it will get lost in this thread. If someone doesn’t know and is asking for the first time? Fine then we should direct them to those threads instead of talking about the topic in this thread because they should be focused on those threads so those at DTG have a central place to focus (and can’t say they missed it since it’s hidden in a separate thread).

Okay, let me elaborate.

Let’s say YOU are the person who has been working on this remaster for 12 months plus. It’s release day and you’re sat in the office excited for people to see you work. All of a sudden some random individual, who you don’t know, walks in and says “still got blurry textures” and then leaves.

I would love to know what your reaction to this would be.

So yes, it is disrespectful, and to be frank, completely inappropriate. Just because you’re sat behind a keyboard doesn’t mean you can treat people differently to how you would in person. If you’re going to criticise, at least try to be constructive.

 

Everyone is entitled to an opinion you may not like it. But still they are entitled to them. its great remaster still with a few problems that are core related and few that aren't im sure they being sorted as we speak. Let's wait for the HST pack to come out buy and support grumpdog. And if you dont like the remaster thats fine just dont play it simple as that.

 

For the record, if the blurry textures were caused by the pack, then they should absolutely be talked about in here. But if we’re trying to be better than a Discord server, we should at least try to keep the threads on topic and focused.

 

Honestly I would use this a development point and continue to work on making things better for the player,

you all think pointing out problems are bad but truth be told it’s a good thing since it shows people care enough about your product to point out flaws

Noting is perfect, it’s just best to use every development point that comes up as a opportunity to improve
