How would you ever enforce that on driving or flying simulators?
Make it so airplanes just bounce off the ground?
Can you still crash with train safety systems on?

on LIRR2 you can only go max of restricting speed if you free roam on any other route As far as being able to crash, It's not something I would try but I'm sure ,If there's a will there's probably a way.

I am interested in this route but will only buy if there are no blurry texture issues on PS5.

100%, their cab signalling is far simpler and pretty easy to follow

I have yet to watch for myself. Anyone other than Joe doing the timetable I do not consider to be good news. For Rivet, or whoever, just to reach the same level of detail that Joe usually achieves would be the best possible outcome. So, I don't see anyone else doing better, and it could be worse. I still remember the first timetable for NYT, and who saved that one?

I also note from the article that we are talking about collectibles and mastery tiles. When DTG starts focussing on the fluff is when things can start going sideways. This might be the last Northeast passenger DLC that we ever get for TSW, so understandably I want it to be as good as possible form the start. We seem to be getting closer to release but there are still a lot of questions.

The only part of the route that will have the NEC/LIRR signalling will be the Hell Gate Line from SHELL to NYP, but as of right now only Amtrak and the freight carriers use it, which can be run in game without safety systems.

I couldn't agree more. I'm not entirely getting warm and fuzzy feelings about this one.

Which is why MSFS doesn’t have crash animations anymore. Outside of a horrific event that’s spurned it, the Airline producers and carriers didn’t want to allow the users to see broken planes.

I am really hoping this is not the last Northeast route that we get for TSW. I would like to atleast see the highly anticipated Hudson line come to TSW at some point as that is Metro North's most scenic route east of the Hudson River. We definitely need Brandon to return at some point if possible. I think there will be more Northeast content eventually. Maybe even a Harlem Line remaster

I’d also selfishly like one more NJT route to Long Branch or Bay Head.

X Plane is even worse as you don’t even register a crash, the aircraft just bounces back into the air!

MSFS has that feature too if you turn off the setting to restart after crash. It’s hilarious to watch them jump right back up in the air like a basketball.

Me too! I live outside Philly, so practically my home territory lol.

There's still a ton to do in the NYC area, not to mention Boston. Hoping that maybe a freight-centric Northeastern route appears some day (maybe CSX around Selkirk NY, or a backdated NEC NY-Trenton when it had more freight traffic).

Still dream of getting Philly in the game someday- give me unbranded SEPTA i don't even care tbh. They've been doing quite a bit of unbranded UK stuff, so why not?

What do fellow US railroad players think? Yay or nay on unbranded content to get more cities/regions into the game?

I would love to get some CSX/NS/CP freight around the Selkirk/Albany area. I've frequently suggested essentially a clone of Run8's Selkirk Terminal map from Hudson up to Albany, with trackage up to Saratoga. Scratches several freight and passenger itches (and is my home territory.)

A modern Hartford Line with freight would be amazing as well.

As far as unbranded, I don't mind it so much in UK routes simply because there are so many TOC's, but here I think I'd prefer licensed content. First thing I did with the TSC commuter railroads (MARC, Tri-Rail, Coaster, Metra, and Metrolink) was mod their unbranded trains with the realistic branding.

I have faith in Rivet for this project. Especially considering DTG mentioned how GCT will now include both levels of the station. Making it one of the most complex in TSW.
I hope we get to see trains running different directions on different tracks. Instead of everything running one direction on the same tracks.

Obviously Septa from Trenton to 30th Street would be huge (can add Amtrak services between and route hop to NEC Trenton-NYC.

For freight, most of the freight around NEC in the NJ area seems to happen on the old Lehigh Valley line. So if they did the NJT Raritan Line, we’d get a bunch more freight routes between the line towards Easton/Bethlehem and across the Valley Bridge. Wouldn’t have to go into Jersey City across bridge there, but we’d at least have an NJT service and a freight service and leverage the existing Newark Penn.

Honestly the fact alone that we only got one screenshot of the route, especially after the roadmap stated that it's in it's final stages of development, is very worrying to me in my opinion. Considering we had more screenshots of how it looked during it's WIP stages, I would've expected a lot more images right now.

I could honestly care less about having the safety systems being always on during gameplay, never bothered me during LIRR2 even if I was initially skeptical of how it would fare out when I first bought it. Considering most people who play this game complain about how "unrealistic" TSW is, mandatory safety systems should really be the least of their complaints regarding the realism in this game.

As an X-Plane user, I have to say that's not correct. X-Plane has crash modeling and the planes will 'crash and burn'. X-Plane does lack building collisions, but good old terra firma will do the trick.

Oh i always play with them on, but when they're not working right, (like on Trenton, especially at launch) it's beyond frustrating.

Hopefully they've got it nailed down
