Going into photo mode and your character disappears from the cab

 

I understand scenery building is no easy feat, if it was we would all be doing it and the world of TSW would be massive! but a bugbear of mine are the small branch lines that get left off DLC or where other sections of track was laid ( in PC there is a file that allows us to see hidden track) which could add further variety, gameplay and a non-linear options yet gets completely left off..
Frankfurt - Fulda comes to mind with the additional track laid including the underground section for S-Bahn, the short St Albans branch on WCML STH (Which is only six miles), Toton yards on MML and nothing against our latest release/remaster but the short branch lines of the GWE....

 

I assumed that was a license issue the first time I saw that a CTX loco had spawned with a train entirely made up of CTX cars. The lack of weathering is also a license thing. Those license agreements must be quite something to read.

 

Here’s a few from me…

- Cloudy weather turning texturing into something from BVE4
- Poor fps with CC liveries
- Texture blurring on B2C and WCMLS (no patches on the horizon either, am I mistaken?)
- Tail light errors on 10 car Azumas and Class 66s

 

1. Unreadable layers list with dlc requirments. Could be more user friendly.
2. Passangers behaviour.

 

I hate that, especially when they're wrong too. I'm looking at you Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn.

 

The inability to use liveries you made in livery creator in the TSW editor.

I made a FGW Plain Blue 153 livery in the livery editor and wanted to use it on my timetable, however I cannot export the weathering shown in game too.

 

I agree with a lot of the points being made. Two of my biggest gripes are that headlights usually aren't strong enough and that the reflective boards were removed, making it way more difficult to drive at night.

To illustrate this, here is a comparison between Frankfurt S-bahn and Dresden-Chemnitz both at 4 AM and with the same 146.2:

 

Sound popping.

 

Sound popping and distortion especially on consoles. Also snow kick up flashing as you drive past other locos.

 

- Blurry textures on console
- General consistency throughout
- Most passengers wearing hats which most of the time doesn't match the rest of their outfit which simply looks ridiculous
- AI trains having passengers lights not switched on at night
- AI trains not switching to tail lights after ending a service

 

Apart from feeling like beeing a beta tester in general...

A) seeing disused or unused platforms (like on fast tracks in GB) having passengers on it.
B) seeing passengers on a platform where no train is scheduled to stop within half an hour or so.
C) probably be GB freight trains having flashing emergency light on (Bakerloo
D) AI trains always running at 100% speed and not following signalling rules (not even the obvious ones)
E) AI not stopping whipers in a covered station and not even after quitting service (like in London Victoria all whipers are on at the buffers...)

And yeah that one is annoying me too!

Actually, I'd say the opposite (people turning up late or after their train has left) would be more realistic. The amount of times I've had people ask me for a train they've just missed or have a few seconds to get is ridiculous.

 

OT I know but that reminds me of yesterday when I was on the bus and people kept trying to board as the driver was trying to leave. Twice he had to re-open the doors to let people on.
The other week someone tried to get on after the bus had started reversing. Driver leant out of the window and said "sorry I've left you're too late"

 

I am notoriously early for most forms of travel. Trains are at least half an hour... don't even get me started with flights... lol

 

Having to enable safety systems at the start of every service.

 

A toggle/quality of life feature that needs to be added in TSW7. I find this annoying too, not a quick task when you’re on console.

 

The layers list is a complete mess, no idea how they thought that was suitable.

But the biggest little thing is those micro stutters, you'd have thought we'd have gotten used to them by now...........

 

This is an additional memory training so as not to forget the place in each locomotive where they are included.

And sometimes, this demonstrates the "standardization" of locomotive cabs, which helps retrain drivers more quickly. But yes, it's annoying to have to turn them on every time. Especially if they're turned on in a different cab. And I'm too lazy to reach for the keyboard for fast movement

 

I'm from Switzerland, if I am half an hour early for my train I take the train half an hour earlier lmao!

But I agree for long distance / high speed trains with reserved seats: If I need to catch a TGV at Lyon I always plan to arrive with my connecting train at least half an hour before derparture, but at home I mostly arrive 10 to 5 minutes before departure (5 because for some tracks you need at least 4 minutes to get there).

 

Lack of livery substitution on freight cars, especially American ones. A US freight train is a multicolored jumble of paint schemes.

 

I’d compile and publish information on the layers for free if DTG gave me the exact info.

So frustrating that no documentation exists (for recent routes anyway) with definitive lists of what layers add what to the game

 

A new Timetable is needed every time a Train is released that cannot be set as a Substitute. This is because the game can only exchange trains with the same number of Carriages. For example, the Class 313 on East Coastway.

 

Based upon a couple of winter timetable runs on Frankfurt S-Bahn - Deciduous trees with all their leaves in place, covered in snow, in Winter scenarios/ timetables. The leaves fall off in Autumn DTG!!
The inconsistent nature of the invisible barriers. Sometimes you can walk out of a station, sometimes you can't get beyond the edge of the platform. In many cases the 3D artists have done a great job modelling the entire building and it's immediate surroundings, but you can't get to see it on foot. Plus not being able to access underpasses or overbridges between platforms.

 

The number of duplicate entries in the loco selection list, often with the same name and sometimes with different services. This is worse than the duplicate locos between DLCs, because at least those are labelled.

 

The Class 66 does this. The MAC one isn't even with the other 66s.

 

Apart from not fixing bugs, people on the Discord feed that ask when things are being released, what new dlc may or may not have or asking half a dozen stupid questions when they’re told to ask one.

 

Oh and freight trains running at 130 (or more) speed. Almost all European freight trains run vMax 100 km/h IRL, most freight cars are simply not allowed to go faster...

 

Absolutely.
And they even exceed the max permitted speed of the locomotive (at least they did).
It's been sorted out on certain routes (WCMLS for example), but I suspect it's not the case everywhere...

 

When half of the buttons in the locomotive cab are unusable (fake buttons).
I like having an air conditioning button that makes a ventilation noise for "roleplay".

 

"View Screen" mode blocking out all the keybinds, especially the alerter/Sifa button. Makes setting the GSM-R on German trains quite the timed challenge

 

UK themed Forza Horizon 4 from 2018 graphics/scenery/weather are better

 

Passengers waiting on a platform for a train that will never stop at.

I remember Matt mentioning in a roadmap a few years back (when diorama's were becoming a thing) that this was being looked into and will happen no more, but then again, Matt says a lot of things.

 

On the Northern Trans-Pennine route (with the Heavy Freight pack), the second Class 08 service is comedy gold as an AI service. It’s a light loco move from one depot to another and the driver is not hanging about. It can be clocked doing 40 mph, while the speed limit for the 08 is only 15 mph. I first noticed this years ago and estimated it was doing 40 but now you can hover over it on the map and see clearly the speed it’s doing. Vroom.

Okay, so there is now one major thing that is really annoying me the most - station announcements which either keep announcing the 'departure' of an arrived train at the end terminus as well as announcing the next station while being the station you're currently at. It so ruins the immersion and is very annoying - let's hope this gets sorted otherwise literally what's the entire point if not realistic?

 

In terms of non critical issues, this would be my number one (followed closely by AWS circuit breakers being flipped for 0 good reason on new trains).

If it wasn’t so annoying, it would amaze me to no end how long this issue has been left in the game & how much effort DTG puts into ignoring it.

 

Even better: the class 08 should cut out when going faster than 20
