Hello Staff at Train Sim World, I just wanted to added very positive feedback for the Q&A sessions we been recently having on discord, I wanted to share the positivity that the staff are hosting Q&A on discord. This has been really impactful for myself and the fanbase in general, We can all the questions that we need minus suggestions (which is completely valid for the streams). But what I must say, I hope these sessions keep carrying on a regular basis. As they really give an insight to players to whats' on the horizon. I also may add, if new members do join discord I think they should be in the discord server for at least 14-30 days to prevent trolling or anything like during the live streams. Just so it isn't ruined in any shape or form. This is the only thing that is worrying me a little bit so our live streams aren't compromised
Ironic to have a poll on the forums about the Discord, which is replacing the forums (at least wrt any dev interaction lol)
Especially regarding issues on Discord in the first place. If anything it’s about to go out of the window since they announced their age verification system, I’d be surprised if many devs are planning on further resource sink for that platform.
Thought it was rather ironic when the DTG Facebook feed announced they would be wheeling out the big hitters for the Discord Q&A. Meanwhile us plebs on the forum are lucky if any questions we ask for upcoming streams etc.get answered and the Feedback and Troubleshooting sections overflow with tech and content debt.
I did watch it yesterday and found the whole thing a bit of a waste of time. Despite asking people to ask one none speculative type question, all but two did so. The questions didn’t really add any insight into that much really and I think perhaps have someone filtering the questions or have several predefined areas for discussion would’ve helped.
I’d say all Q&A sessions, both on Discord and live streams are ruined by a seeming majority asking ignorant questions like, “when is x coming out” or “will you ever make a y route”. Also, “can you give is an update on the console problems”, like it hasn’t been addressed ad nauseam. My favorite was last week’s live stream when after an in-depth description of what DTG are doing to solve the issues from Matt the next question was, “can you give us an update on the blurry textures issue” gob-smacking! I think everyone at DTG does an amazing job to keep calm and stay good humored throughout, I genuinely admire it. To answer the question, pointless, new Discord users are unlikely to be any better, or worse than the existing people.
Incidentally, is there a recording of the Q&A session available somewhere, like there was for the previous ones? Due to time zone difference it's not possible for me to watch them live.
Thank you for your kind words azzax333 We've been enjoying these sessions because they feel more laid-back and organic. With Discord's Stage feature, we have the unique ability to engage in direct conversations with our community, which has been fantastic. Regarding your suggestion, we don't want to limit who can join us. So far, everyone has been polite and wonderful. Even if someone disruptive were to join, we have the ability to remove them from the stage or, in the worst-case scenario, from the server. Anyone is welcome to join us on stage to discuss any topic they like, as long as it isn't a suggestion or a question regarding potential upcoming content. We plan to make these sessions a regular occurrence, starting with a Metro Rivals-focused Q&A next Wednesday, followed by a more general session at a later date. Again, thank you for your kind words. All the best, Jan
@dtg_jan Why then do we not receive answers to truly relevant questions here in the forum? Such as this one, for example: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...1"]Br 194 / E94 Railtour Pack Feedback Thread
Hey there, Not something I'm personally aware of, but I've raised this internally to check. Will let you know once I get an answer. All the best, Jan
Thank you it means a lot that the staff do get involved with the community. But that's really good and helpful to hear from the team about this. I just didn't want our Q&A sessions to be ever terminated or spoiled by anyone. But that's really good news and thank you!
