And with the addition of Tyler, Rivet seem to have stepped up their game. High expectations here :)

Rivet did more than well enough with Riviera, so being in house has obviously done a lot in terms of their development.

I assume since Tyler already mentioned plans for further timetables back when the XC/WM 170 released, that this is one of them.

Would of course be nice to see Rivet go back & correct older content, but let’s not kid ourselves - most of that would require complete rebuilds.

I don’t see any reason to be concerned about this new content going off their last couple of releases.

l totally agree, l must have travelled that route thousands of times and know it better than the back of my wrist! Doesn’t bear any resemblance to the real life route at all. It’s more of a fantasy route and you get a better comparison if you play it at midnight with your eyes closed.

Needs someone who knows the area to remaster it. It is the worst route in the game by a long, long way!

Didnt Tyler create a timetable for TVL as well? If so, maybe all you TVL enjoyers have another remaster to look forward to?

Only thing mentioned in the articles is the addition of the RHTT. Don't know if there is much freight there IRL anyway besides the Newhaven aggregates services.

so will this be a GWE level of remaster or an SKA level of remaster?

Judging from the articles, somewhere in between :).

Edit: actually, it will certainly be bigger than SKA, given the mentioned scope. I'm just curious how close it (with the 377/170 pack) will come to the level of GWE...

I think it’s a few ‘test’ runs for diversions or something. Non-Stopping runs at least!

I am looking forward to this, I've been playing East Coastway, I bit the bullet and purchased TSW6 last week (not been interested since TSW2) and the East Coastway and Brighton mainline I can't get enough of.

I read that the 171 does Brighton to Ashford services. Has the route been extended to Ashford International? Most of the surrounding area has been build in the SEHS route.

No extra track, will only be playable Brighton to Eastbourne.
It's a free remaster of the route to accompany the 171/377 DLC, not an extension.

No it hasn't been extended, if it was I think it would probably have been mentioned by now.

The Class 171's used to operate services from Brighton to Ashford, but all trains heading for Hastings and Ashford have to reverse at Eastbourne and then run back through Hampden Park station to take a junction towards Hastings and then onto Ashford. So you'll drive just drive the train from Brighton to Eastbourne.

Worth a punt I guess ;) half expecting them to say on stream “guess what we have another surprise for you”. 99.9% probably not, still that 0.01% optimistic come 7pm :)

p.s- for some reason i got Thursday confused with Wednesday. 7pm tomorrow.

I do have to say, after looking at the screenshots in the new article and seeing Liam say this will be comparable to GWE in quality has actually got me quite excited for this one.

Although I will probably spend most/if not all of my time on the 313 timetable. We need that love for the 313s (not so fussed about the new 377 but I guess a new variant is always welcome)! It's nice to get the Thameslink and Gatwick AI even if its the wrong 700. I'd rather have them there.

The screenshot in Brighton looks very good to my eye :) Eagerly awaiting the preview.

Yup glad to see that seemingly the only difference will be if you see one more 377 subclass or the 313. I’ll take the 313 any day.

The 313 would be the most realistic choice for 2017/2018 as during that time all the 377/3s were working London Metro routes

Honestly instead of the 377 subclass I wish they did an official 313 201 BR livery to add to the pack and did like a 313 fair well tribute or something alongside the the 171. Have a rail tour scenario with 313 201.

It’s sad to me that I’ll never commute on a 313 ever again, they were a big part of my childhood when visiting coastal towns, especially Eastbourne.

So we're not expecting Eastbourne - Hampden Park section then. Assume these will be AI.

So is their No Gatwick Express at Brighton as AI?

I thought Class 700s would be Ai running from Brighton, maybe even back & forth like ECML, though unsure why they do this, is it real.

I'm sure they mentioned that the new timetable with the 171 and 377/3 pack will have Thameslink and Gatwick Express as AI at Brighton.
The base timetable and the 313 timetable don't though

Oh, I assumed the 377s pre-loaded would do this, until 171s are availble. I'll probabley have the answers once released. Due to availablity for section of track.

Another strange concept is between the 2x Brighton routes, 1x has Hove yet other doesn't. Ie London Commuter / East Coast Way. Assume London Commuter allows Victoria to Hove for Littlehampton services. Plus London Rd for Eastbourne services.

Bumps the amount of services up, whether driveable or AI.

    Remaster would have

    Newhaven Marine Station
    Class 66s
    Other traction.
    Class 377s

Timetable maybe same slightly with amends to include Newhaven Marine. Some of which we don't have.

    Eastbourne - Hastings / Ore / Ashford International - Class 171 assume.

    Brighton - Seaford - Class 377

*Brighton - Eastbourne / Eastbourne - Hampden Park (for Eastbourne - Hastings / Ore
    Peak time only.

Lewes - Eastbourne (for Victoria - Eastbourne) - Class 377

    Brighton - Eastbourne (Shorts)

    Brighton - Newhaven Marine

    Think that is it.

Sure it would have done the same back in 2018 or when set, as does todays.

    Off topic

Hopefully the Class 171s would layer in as Ai at Ashford International.

You can't go there yourself, but on Brighton Mainline route you already have all the East and West Coastway traffic as AI, the only really missing thing is the class 700 which was not in TSW back when the timetable was made. So making Hove playable would not change that much apart from giving us the ability to drive a service for like few minutes out of Brighton before it becomes AI only, too much work for such a little improvement.

It would require actually changing the Southeastern High Speed timetable, which while nice, I doubt it will ever happen as it will be just AI layer and not contain playable services. I suspect that priorities for such updates are really low considering we don't see much of backdating layers to older content.

You forgot Seaford / Brighton - Lewes (at least on current version pre - remasteter. Plus Newhaven Marine in remaster.

You meant them too I know.

Nope, class 171’s don’t serve that branch, just the electrostars & 313.

Whether purely coincidence or not, but this week actually marks the 175th anniversary of the Marshlink Line! :o So, a nice little nod to the Class 171 Ashford International services for East Coastway regardless.

Yes, a shame there's still no 700/1. However, the /0s are still very common at Brighton, so technically it's not actually wrong, but rather just less realistic.

As far as I'm aware, the 171's have never been used on the Seaford services, when the 313's arrived they worked those services (as well as the West Coastway lines).

The 171's have only worked the Marshlink and Uckfield lines I believe.

Will this remaster have train announcements added?
I only noticed platform announcements mentioned in the article.

So I was assuming the new timetable would also include the 313 services if you had the 313 pack but looking at the e-mail received yesterday there is no mention of the 313 layering in to the new 171/377 timetable?

There are 2 new timetables that are fundamentally the same, the only difference is one uses the 377 for Seaford runs and the other uses the 313.

I think it’s better to keep the 313 timetable separate. The 171’s will just over shadow the 313’s.

The 171s run different stopping patterns to the 313s. The 313s commonly went down to Seaford via Newhaven while the 171s did the run towards Eastbourne and Ashington etc.

The new 377 is the one that will do the run to Seaford and that would overshadow the 313s. But thankfully they've done two identical timetables one with the 377 to Seaford and one with the 313 to Seaford or at least that's what I got from reading the article.
