Great will be getting it tomorrow.

So DTG haven't "handled this poorly" and what was said was correct all along. Maybe this will stop some from jumping in with both feet first in future.....or maybe not!

Reminder for PC players: Check your UserContent/DLC folder before this comes out! For instance, Aran-ECW-Time-of-Day-Update-v1.0.pak

Well not until a sale and/or the sounds are backdated on to the FC 170.

I will be happily thrashing the EU07 or EN57 on the new route or seeing if I can fudge up in one of the signalboxes!

    • The prompt to switch to 'Immersion' mode during the introductions doesn't appear
What is immersion mode in the introductions.

Is everyone happy now? I won’t be buying it tomorrow as it clashes with my plans to yell at a cloud.

    Spot on there...

The way some were throwing their toys out the pram was somewhat shameful. I think they need to re evaluate their attitude going forward.

On a brighter note, very excited for tomorrow. Just about the watch The British Aces review on the route!

No. Definitely not buying this, even if the SimRail stuff wasn’t also coming out tomorrow. I just don’t have much faith the sounds will ever get back ported to the FC 170. Quite apart from anything else, I always found ECW a bit boring compared to BML.

This seems like a decent addon and I might buy it, but going off some of the videos of it that are already on YouTube there is definitely a lot of room for improvement, especially with the class 377.

Both the 377/3 and 377/4 have the old passenger information system where it doesn't scroll through all the calling points.

The class 377/4 has a working guard panel, but the 377/3 doesn't.

The class 377/3 and 171 have a different announcement voice which sounds a lot like the real announcements, but the 377/4 and 313 have the same GWR voice as Riviera Line.

My main interest in the pack is the 171 and the timetable. I have the 313 so will stick to the timetable which features that. I am not so interested in the 377/3.

It's good to read the 377/4 is getting new sounds. I had never noticed before as rarely drove it on this route, but comparing it to the BML one you can hear that the BML one has far better sounds.

Not yet! I'm not convinced yet they did not rush the release just to appease all the toddlers here. /s

From watching TBA preview, you can hear the updated cab running sounds they sound pretty good. Also the annoying loop that was happening at 85mph has also been resolved! I think the only fair criticism which he also noticed was the PIS screens not being like the 377/387 on BML which are active and running through the stations the train will be calling at. But overall, very impressive and another feather in the cap for Rivets continued quality improvements. Will give some proper feedback once I've actually played the 171 tomorrow myself... But from the preview, it's looking pretty darn good!

I may also go in for this day 1. I love ECW and it'll be nice to revisit it with the 171 and the timetable honestly.

I'm a little apprehensive with it being Rivet but surely they can't mess up ECW being so old?

I just a few jobs still really like it but its so bright in some places and yet so dark in other places. The remaster is gonna make this route 100 x better.

The biggest Rivet red flag for me was always the timetables, with Tyler onboard, it’s not a concern anymore, I’d say with him looking after that it gives others more time to focus on route building? Riviera Line is the jewel in their crown.

Just finished my final time on the original East Coastway ahead of tomorrow's remaster - while I'm so looking forward to it and timetable/rolling stock update (much needed and very deserved finally), in a way it does feel like the end of an era though and quite sad actually in a way to enjoy as it is one final time as the route has been like this since 2019 :o - that's a very long time in TSW history and many hours and memories.

Some pics from my final playthrough today:

Oh, and how ironic/coincidental the final service for me was to Seaford and back with 313/217:

It certainly seems to have weathered the march of time more than the other routes of the period.

I went on NTP the other day for the first time in ages and I ended up exiting it. The lighting is poor and Leeds had no other trains in it except a parked up 47 and some BG's. A shame as it would be a favourite remastered.

Yeah, some routes certainly are much worse than others. Regarding NTP, I'm like that with BML even though the route and timetable is my favourite overall - but it's just too dark to enjoy nowadays (and I don't like non-TOD 4 night lighting as it doesn't feel like night), plus the fact no 700 either really spoils the immersion.

Let's hope every older, original TSW route gets remastered eventually - especially many of the German ones which are crying out for some love.

Having watched some videos from the British Ace, I'm a bit confused as to why rivet chose to use the incorrect PIS for the 377/3 and why the updated 377/4 also uses the outdated PIS. The announcements on the 171 and 377/3 sounded almost identical to real life, but why use the GWR announcements for the updated stock? Other than that the remaster and DLC look really good and I'll probably buy it soon after release as I haven't played East Coastway in a long time.

So with the big day coming tommorow I took 313 201 in it's beautiful BR blue livery for one last jaunt down to Seaford. While I agree the route has definitely aged there is still just something about it which I love. I did enjoy my run down to Seaford and there's just something I love about the 313 it's a great EMU to drive! With a separate brake handle too! ;)

    The livery was by: James#3620

313 201 Departs from Brighton station headed towards Seaford for the final time before large scale engineering works are due to be completed across the whole Eastcoastway route.

That's what I noticed as well. Is it really too much to ask to have some consistency?

No, it was different for me on Xbox. For GWE I had to manually DL it, and It's labeled as a remaster. The other 2 just kinda showed up.... in an update I guess. They're not labeled remastered. it's the inconsistency that I found confusing. It's not a big deal, just sayin.

I'm glad they are bringing these routes back to life. I'd like to see more of the German routes with the lighting fix. Koln Aachen is enjoyable now for me.

I had never noticed the Bryan Ferry before...

I find it more funny and amusing because I'm a fan of the old Ricky Gervais Show on XFM from the early 2000s, and Karl Pilkington used this as one of his Rockbusters clues. I'm probably on my own in that regard though as I'm quite the saddo!
