[PS5] Given the 171 a couple of runs now (one for each subclass) & I’d like to start with the new sounds. There appears to be a new layer of traction motor noise which introduces the distinctive whine from these units, but it’s very subtle & could do with being louder. The new running sounds are…odd, I think if these will stay then they could be a little more subdued but overall it’s nice that we’re seeing overall improvements here, certainly better than the 170’s sounding like sprinters. I don’t know if it’s a route issue also, but some (not all) track joint sounds were missing, which is the biggest let down in this regard. I also noticed texturing in the cab looked better, it may be due to the previous units being on routes that have blur issues, but overall everything was sharper. Announcements on the 171 are great, really great & are definitely what all devs should be aiming for. PIS is the biggest let down, it looks really fake especially on the side screens. Internal screens aren’t too bad but the exterior displays need work, these are the exact opposite quality of the announcements. Also PIS doesn’t seem to work on AI, they all showed not in service on the 2 runs I did. Overall though it’s a nice pack & it’s nice to get the turbos onto another route they can stretch a little, rather than the shuttle type runs we got with the last pack & subsequent layering. The only letdown really is the PIS & the new sounds which, whilst not bad, could use tweaking a little.
Has anyone else noticed on the 377, how the DSD pedal and the AWS button are still both bound to the "q" key, so you are unable to individually press them?
Xbox Series S Announcements are heard on the Class 171 when completing a 'Go-Via' objective at a station. For me personally, I heard one at London Road when completing the objective of 'Go-Via London Road'
It is extremely annoying that this is still a thing being released. It takes away the immersion of people wanting to use a pedal and a separate button for the AWS cancel. I understand it for older DLC but not for releases in TSW6.
So I actually did day 1 this pack first time in ages and so far I'm impressed with what I've seen (although that in the grand scheme of things is very little). I've just had my first run on the pack albeit with a 313 so nothing too add regarding the 171 or new 377. The timetable for this really does make a world of difference. It's so nice to roll into Brighton (a station I've spent many hours at) and seeing the 700s and 387s. The performance has been great as well not much if any performance hitches. It would be nice to see Rivet put the announcements from the 171 and 377 onto the 313 and 377/4 though. I don't understand why they wouldn't. And it's a shame you can't run the 313 timetable in the journey mode to break up the electrostars a bit. But I do understand why they've had to do it that way.
Just drove the 1G58 service in a 171 towards Brighton. AWS seemed to be playing up a bit. Occasionally when passing the magnet before a green signal I would get two pings rather than the one, and then more worryingly, about 2 miles before Lewes I passed a single yellow but received no AWS warning (as if the magnet was not operational).
I drove the 171 into Eastbourne then waited for it to depart back out on an AI service, oddly it began to jettison passengers one by one as it went along (they just drop to the track then freeze for a few seconds before disappearing). I think the 171 is pretty good, only done the one run with it so far from Bristol to Eastbourne but it seemed ok and was nice to get up to a decent speed with it. The 377/3 on the other hand, I barely made it a mile out of Eastbourne before quitting and loading up the 377/4 from BML instead. The PIS on the cab ends are quite bad (I mean even "Brighton" doesn't fit) and the sounds are a little "off" which I believe is down to not using the AP soundset used on the BML unit, pity. I will give it another go soon I guess.
You haven't read the announcement that there will be a post update patch for the sounds then? Sometimes when you think this forum can't get any more baffling someone comes along a proves you wrong.
On PC, on the 313 timetable: I can't remember the service and it hasn't ticked it as complete, it was a Seaford to Brighton service around 11:15. The only issue I have noticed so far, and it might be a route issue, well probably is although I don't think I have seen it before. On driving a Seaford to Brighton service, the signal on the viaduct after London Road was showing amber but was green on the HUD. I did get the AWS warning horn.
Someone probably needs their ego massaging. I remember how the last petition went, that was a very sorry state of affairs.
Blurry textures on the 171 speedometer! Absolute garbage Again. Also can’t hear the horn at all. Who made this junk?
171/7 has a squished gangway whilst the 171/8 doesn't. When will this be fixed along with the 170/5 which also has this problem.
Great. Does anyone on PlayStation know how you go about getting a refund? I’m done with this bs game.
I’m once again deeply disappointed reading the feedback threads for this pack and the ECW remaster. My only solace is that I’m not an early buyer. I haven’t bought any TSW 6 content up to now, just got the free upgrade instead.
377/3 carriage numbers all wrong Power brake controller wouldn’t move into power with switch in neutral Cab door control buttons are wrong Mitrac (shows door status and destination information- screen on left hand side of cab) the white dot (represents leading end) is on the wrong side and the doors go red on release on the other side to that which you put the release up on. This was a fault on the original. So good to see they didn’t bother correcting. B button (Xbox X) doesn’t appear to cancel vigilance. Honestly, why do you do such a poor job?
So there are a decent number of issues primarily regarding the PIS on both the 377/3 and 171. 1: The side PIS font appears incorrect on the 171s, It is only a singular line when most footage I can find shows 2 lines (presumably listing stops like the 377s, I'm sure someone who travels on 171s can confirm if my assumption is correct). 2: The spacing between the centre 2 coaches of the 171/8 is too large and is missing cable connections unlike the connections to both driving cars. 3: The 377/3 is using the old ECW 377/4 PIS logic as opposed to the BML 377/4 and WCML 377/2, meaning the text on the front is too large ("Brighton" fits on the front of a 377/2 while it has to scroll on the 377/3) the scrolling is not continuous as it should be, scrolling and then popping back. 4: The side PIS on the 377/3 is missing the calling points on the second line (like the ECW 377/4). 5: The light indicators within the 377/3 show the incorrect colours for the headlights being all red rather than yellow/white. 6: The PIS on the 377/3 defaults to blank (the /4 also has this issue) as opposed to 'Not in Service' like the /2 and BML /4. 7: The internal PIS doesn't function unlike the 377/2. For a 'new' Class 377 it has a remarkable amount of shared issues with the now ancient ECW class 377s, even with them now having suspension I would still prefer the BML 377/4 or the WCML 377/2 as the PIS issues personally bother me. I have no clue why the BML 377 wasn't used as the base for both the upgraded ECW 377 and the 377/3 since it is the superior version, even if you have to swap the audio from the licensed BML audio.
The 377/3 also has an AC transformer on its TSO which it shouldn't have since it isn't equipped with a pantograph. The lack of said AC transformer is visible in this video. So is the 377/3 a weird hybrid of the 377/2 and ECW 377/4 model then?
Refund requested. There is poor quality and then there is. Also, going on past performance there’s no chance the problems will get fixed.
It’s time DTG and the 3P’s pulled their socks up. Reading the feedback vindicates my decision not to part with £12 for this hastily thrown together rework. In the meantime, £13 (via a release discount offer and bundle) has bought me a very passable 100km route extension in SimRail along with an all new EMU. If this is the best DTG working with Rivet can produce, then time they took a long hard look at where they are headed. Appreciate the feedback everyone.
Yeah if it came with a nice soundset and was up to current 377 standards (as established by the WCML 377/2) and the 171 didn't have the PIS and coach spacing issue, it would feel like an ok value with the timetable.
