East Coast Way Remaster Discussion Thread.

You were probably having issues with a conflict between the Windows Update and the out of date nVidia drivers.

 

Only thing that bugs me is the 313 still having rocket ship starts off the line

 

The route is definitely transformed, it looks so much better.

I was caught out by the four timetables. I was going to come on moaning about the lack of traffic and why was the 313 timetable using AI times. Then it occurred to me I had chosen the wrong timetable!

The 313 does seem to be quite twitchy, I have noticed in the past but it seemed more noticeable today. I do find the track joint sounds on the 313 do seem quite loud compared to the motor sounds.

 

I think it’s fine actually on acceleration curve, it’s just that it moves immediately and quickly as soon as you move into notch 1

 

Genuinely would prefer to see NTP get remastered, and not because I'm going to parade the whole "BR better, modern sux lol". I actually enjoy driving BML, even if it doesn't look the best (I play with the 700 timetable made by a modder). NTP is a route I would love to enjoy but I genuinely cannot even play for more than a few minutes with how poorly it has aged.

Loving the remaster and the 171 timetable(s) so far. No issues with blurries either. I have to say it did feel a bit strange running the 395 charity railtour service driving it somewhere other than SEHS. (And probably our character was wishing to be on SEHS with it whilst running at 10mph through Lewes...)

 

Same here...no announcements at all anywhere.

 

There are a very large amount of people running that particular set of Nvidia drivers as they have improved performance under Win11 and are one of the most well thought of releases in the past few years.

 

The night lighting really is something else! Lewes looks incredible. Let’s hope the night lighting improvements are a little taster for what’s to come in Medway Valley line too!

I rarely buy content on day one, but the pricing for the rolling stock and timetable pack seemed fair, and I wanted it to complement the remaster. I must say, I am positively surprised by this one. I really enjoyed my first drive from Brighton to Seaford. I would even go so far as to say that I prefer this over the GWE remaster. I generally favor non-linear routes, and I have always had a soft spot for East Coastway.

Well done. I am hoping for a remaster and extension of London–Brighton next. I would love to see not only London Bridge, as many have suggested, but the entire Thameslink core. King’s Cross would be a great place to hop if the routes to Peterborough, Cambridge, or Bedford are ever added to the game.

 

I’m surprised that I agree with this, it’s not even one of those ‘better than others & tolerable’ but actually a route I’ve enjoyed night running on.

Granted I’ve given the night runs a smidge of fog for the volumetric lighting, but I think this is by far the best night experience I’ve had in TSW.

 

Something is wrong with the glass surfaces on both the 395 and 375 for me post update, I've disabled all mods to no avail.

 

This is caused by the unintended patch for SEHS. Should be corrected soon.

 

Yes but I believe Microsoft fixed the issue in the Win11 update that the drivers were primarily released to combat.

 

There were still some issues. 591.44 Is still regarded as the most stable and better performing driver for the RTX40** cards and the best of the drivers that supports SM on 40** cards.

It was on Discord. They pushed another update at 10:00 today to fix it

 

Have I done something wrong? I own the easy Coastway, the download file has been installed but there's still only two routes under east Coastway (313 and 377), and if I go into those there's nothing different, no extra locos to use? Eg the only stock is 377/4, 66 and 377/2? Or is that it?

I thought 700 was in there?

 

The remaster & new timetable are separate. You need the 171 pack for the new timetable.

Only get the other timetables if you buy the 171 dlc pack. And they have all the extra services.

I personally think £12.99 for 2 trains and 2 timetables is a bit of steal to be honest. Great value.

It's not that I can't afford it, I've got to exercise some self control lol.

 

Two trains already in the game with some minor changes ( headlights, couplers, liveries ), Also waiting for a sale.

 

I'm surprised by the amount of issues being found especially with the 171 bearing in mind they aren't new trains. As someone else pointed out it's almost as if a pre-release version has been sent out rather than the finished product.

The driver view looks a bit close to the cab window on the 171 IMO, can't see as much of the dashboard without having to move the camera . Guess I'll get used to it. Whereas 350 etc you can see pretty much everything in the same view

 

Apologies it this has already been discussed. What is the consensus regarding the updated sounds on 171/170 is there any real improvement compared to the previous Fife Circle 170?

 

Not a fan..... Cab sounds are pretty quiet. Track joint noise is next to nothing. All cab noise is lost as you pass another class 171 and other external noises are as audible in the cab as they are outside as though all the windows are open. By that I mean you hear other passing units very loudly and if you have the Pride parade ECW mastery enabled you can hear all the cheering from in the cab as much as you do when outside. All other units you cannot hear the cheering from inside the cabs.

Pretty sure the 171 has a whole new sound deck compared to the 170.....

 

Probably has as they are far worse and numerous issues compared to the original 170 sounds.

Since the timetables are split for the 377/3 and the 313, does that mean you never see either of them in the same run? I don't currently own the 313, but is there any point in buying it now if the 377/3 is running those services?

 

Has anyone seen the 150 yet? If so, which season and time?

 

Correct, the 313 timetable doesn't feature the /3 and vice versa.

 

I'm very impressed with this remaster. The route looks awesome, performance is awesome, and there are no stutters at all. But it would not be DTG if they released a route without something importing missing.



I blame the missing rails on the people demanding the remaster to be released before it was ready. /s

 

Has anyone had missing tracks, signals and buffers at eastborne? I did yesterday.

 

Yes, I have. Instead of extending the tracks they took them away.

 

Apparently not everyone got enough track to reach Eastbourne. I had no problems with it myself, it was all there

 

Eastbourne was fine for me on Xbox. Very happy with the remaster and 171 pack, having a great time. So refreshing to have zero blurry textures in a gorgeous looking route.

 

Am on series x. I went onto a service from eastborne yard to eastborne on a 377 at 4.30am, no track at all in the yard or station. I then closed the game down completely and restarted it, same service again, and there was track snd siganls back. Weird

 

Class 313 is the correct rolling stock for the 2018 timetable, class 377/3 was included with seperate timetable purely so that players without class 313 DLC still have all Seaford services.

 

Matt just hinted on his charity stream that the BML could be in line for a remaster next lets hope so

 

Wait what!? Anything other than ‘if it’s not on the roadmap..’ is interesting. What hint was given?

 

He said that it was a route that was very high on the priority list to be remastered, I imagine this is an actual list since they have now looked at adopting remasters into their plans

 

Bml is my favorite route, so am all for a remaster, with the 700 chucked in would be nice. But known them a 700 flu will be paid dlc. Lol
