I certainly agree, but it was perhaps easier for the Simrail development team since they came later. They simply did the opposite of what DTG was doing. DTG built standalone isolated stretches, in Simrail it's a network, TSW is single player only, whereas you have multiplayer in Simrail, TSW scope is the whole world, in Simrail it's just Poland, etc. I think the problem with TSW is that DTG tried to please everyone... I seem to recall seeing Belarusian routes for Trainz, and I'm sure there are also railfans in eastern Poland. So far, the Simrail team hasn't tried to cater to them. But perhaps one day it will be possible to run a Warsaw - Minsk night train while by that time Swindon may still not be in TSW...
The other caveat with doing a Simrail style approach in TSW would be having to provide an increasingly huge timetable. SimRail gets round that by only having a full, somewhat fictionalised as it repeats every hour regardless of time of day, timetable for MP. Single Player relies TSC/MSTS style on a handful of playable scenarios, albeit with the ability to sub in a different train if you wish.
The reason why Simrail/Simkol release extensions and forming a larger map because this is how simulator industry works. They constantly expend their line coverage to attract more contracts from railway operators. Simkol is the second largest railway simulator provider in Poland. The biggest one is Simfactor, now cooperate with MASZYNA (and make some Simrail/Simkol developers sad because now the freeware game they had been contributed to is now... in their competitor's hand), which covers almost entire Poland railway lines, also some foreign routes. Also you should expect more lines from Lodz voivodeship. Because LKA is buying a lot more trains, and seems pretty happy to continue cooperate with Simkol for their new trains simulators. Also you might expect a Lublin route from a simulator contract with Polregio, featuring ETCS'ed EN57AL. (PS: WTF keep modernizing ancient stock instead of buying new one. ETCS installation is very expensive. EN57 is a very outdated train, with very weak underframe, poor crash worthiness.) But Lublin is too far away from any existing lines in Simkol map. So this maybe the first time they will release a standalone route. (Or miracle happens, as their first contract with LKA doesnt require them to connect ordered routes with existing routes, but Simkol did it anyway)
Coming Thursday 26/02/2026 a new route will be released – the Łódź Junction DLC (Łódzki Węzeł Kolejowy). This adds over 15 new stations and connecting railway lines spanning over 100 km across the Łódź Voivodeship❗️ With the route, you'll receive new scenarios and new challenges, as the upcoming DLC features a wide variety of lines – from single-track local routes to mainline railways. Fans of suburban trains, long-distance fast services, and heavy freight operations will find something for themselves here. The upcoming DLC connects to the existing Warsaw-Łódź route too, which allows for a single journey of nearly 200 km! ️ The new route includes the following stations: LK1: • Piotrków Trybunalski • Baby • Rokiciny LK14: • Sieradz • Zduńska Wola • Gajewniki • Łask • Pabianice • Łódź Lublinek • Retkinia LK15: • Łódź Kaliska • Łódź Zabieniec • Zgierz LK16: • Łódź Marysin LK25: • Łódź Chojny • Łódź Kaliska and many more passenger stops. Don't miss it❗️
Had a lovely drive on multiplayer last night from Kat to War with a pendolino , great signalling by humans and bots meant I arrived at War bang on time 2h20 odd mins later, not the greatest fan of the pendo but at least it has cruise control which is handy for a quick run to the toilet. At least with Simrail every drive is different and you never know what you are going to get signalling wise which is great. Looking forward very much to the next dlc.
Good stuff. Even though the SP save is working better, I’ll still pop into MP now and again. Of course when the new stuff comes out on Thursday, the servers will be choc a bloc for a few days. I wonder if we will be able to do signalling on the single track routes?

Some of those signalboxes look interesting! On another note, does anyone know or recall how you release traction or brake lock on the steam loco? After a station overrun yesterday evening and reversing back into the platform, I once again found the situation of being unable to move. Brakes showing released, reverser back into full forward but opening the regulator simply filled the steam chest to capacity with no movement. Opened the cylinder cocks and still couldn’t move. Ditto the brake release handle. At that point I gave up and reloaded my saved game and be more careful, but this is not the first time I’ve found myself movement locked with the Ty2.
Had a quick look at the stream and yes looks interesting. Vern were the brakes overcharged? Seems to happen a lot if left in fill for too long, use F8 dev menu and see if carriages brakes still applied.
I think I might have done as I hit emergency to stop, but then odd as I reversed okay. Maybe hit emergency again. So the next question is, how do you recover the brake system…
Must admit have not driven it myself much though did have the same problem as you as I overcharged the brakes, I think it will take a few mins to get the brake pipe pressure back to 5.0 bar.
Ty2 is too old to have modern brake pipe controls/protection. You maybe overfill the brake pipe and caused carriages behind to lock. Either continue driving via, overfill all the time as normal release. Or restart the game. Simrail does not have the function to tweak each carriages brakes to deal with this problem. (Dev maybe add a button in F8 in distant future). But as for now, just avoid using overfill, or use it in a pulse (1s).
I tried doing the same thing as you twice and for me it was working just fine. Waited few seconds for brakes to release and it moved again. Maybe its a bug ? Did you try forum or Discord , to contact with devs ?
In the meantime, going to have me some fun... ...beats driving same old one handled EMU's on bus stop urban routes!
Both the route/extension and Impulse EMU are now live on Steam. If you delve around on the Steam page you should be able to pick up the new route and EMU as part of a bundle with the original Lodz route. If you already own the first route that brings the price down to £13.26 for both the items released today which is a £6.52 saving on the price of the items purchased separately. Not bad for 100km of new route and EMU - compare with DTG's usual £30 for a new route with the likelihood of a recycled train, or the £13 for the ECW pack with its two recycled trains!
So far looking very nice. I haven’t found the single track sections yet but starting a run with the new EMU was pleasantly surprised to see some mechanical semaphore signals at some locations. The section of route I’m on has quite a few curves though not much in the way of gradients though that’s a fact of life in central Poland. New EMU, well very similar to some of the newer DB EMU’s we have in TSW. Seems a tad quick on acceleration but maybe that is realistic. First time I tried driving I messed up something in the cab and got an alarm I couldn’t cancel, so had to start over. Well at least I can keep time with it, subbing in on an IC run. So all in all, not bad for just over £13 investment. Hours of enjoyment in SP alone and it will certainly be interesting to try the route in MP or take a look at some of the signalboxes.
Above red warning light when the loud beep is sounding there is a button, hold it and the brakes will be released. Als there is a nice cruise control function in the menu and on the drive handle. I have both the route and train set, together 25% off, nice deal.
Noted that. Unfortunately the same problem occurs when loading into the saved game and I was not able to clear it by using the release button. The CDU shows the wheels red and the pressure gauge sticks at 2.5 bar. I’ve made a post on the official forum in the Bug section which is still waiting mod approval at the time of posting this. So for now, I’ll stick with the Impulse in MP.
Good point. There is also an issue with the loco hauled scenarios which require you to run the loco round at Lodz. If you have started the scenario earlier with the customiser, when the timetable returns after reattaching the loco and changing cabs, Part 2 reverts to the original timetable with a departure at 1137 (in the case of IC3720), whereas it was only 0840 or thereabouts thus ending the scenario. Sounds like the devs testing and QA on the SP scenarios on a par with DTG, this time round unfortunately.
Patch update notes- STOCK Impuls II: Fixed Horn High/Low lever Impuls II: Fixed hotkey for changing light dimming Impuls II: Fixed corridor lighting switch Impuls II: Added the ability to insert Pc2 signs Impuls II: Fixed centrifugal force Fixed CD163 and Impuls II pantographs SCENERY Fixed required dlc for new scenarios DISPATCHER Fixed spawn at Baby Fixed spawn at Skierniewice Fixed telephone at Rokiciny OTHER Fixed an issue that caused incorrect, extremely high penalties for speeding violations
Oh well it’s a start. Hopefully they can move on to the issues that I raised. For the moment, Mayne they need to put a note about not starting a run which involves a run round at an earlier time.
Now it appears you can't save at all running IC 7320 in the opposite direction, before even reaching Lodz. Looks like it's proper broken and my positive view of the two add ons are diminishing fast. Played too long to refund, unfortunately.
