Bought the Class 171 pack and chose a service for the 171. FIRST thing I see is a blurry speedometer unless you zoom into it. Unfriggingbelievable. Absolute LOVE and for $16.99? DTG has done some good things lately with the remasters and stuff but this is completely unacceptable. Releasing new content with THE SAME BLURRY TEXTURES! DTG should refund anyone who has this issue immediately. This has gotten completely out of hand. And I DID NOT type absolute love but absolute LOVE and SOMEHOW the post changed the word to “love”’ Can’t hear the horn at all either. Who made this junk?
Erm think you might want to check your console for a update, and/or reboot it. Most players aren't reporting any blurred textures on the update and new pack. Might be something at your end... You should really look in the feedback forum.... https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/southern-br-class-171-377-3-feedback-thread.96893/unread
Thanks. And all updates are in. It’s the same problem on Birmingham to Crewe on the 350. Blurry speedometer. This is absolute junk that we all know will never be fixed
Fair enough. I’m on PS5 Pro and I’ve had no blurry textures whatsoever. Nor have others on other platforms. Showing some screenshots would help and validate your claim.
Indeed, since you’re the first person to say “I’ve got blurry textures” when no one else has on the ECW remaster. Some validation is in order, plus it doesn’t help the devs or anyone else without some information A.K.A screenshots.
Just calm down... No need to be so hot headed with everyone. You can't actually think everyone else is at fault here? If you give an attitude, you'll receive one. Friendly bit of advice for you... Anyway, just to clarify, I'm on the bog standard PS5 and have not once had blurred textures and I've run the route back and forth a few times. I'm not doubting what your saying, but I do find it peculiar that you seem to be experiencing this issue alone at the moment?
I thought it was refreshing to finally have a DLC with no blurry textures. At least on Xbox X. Ran 5 services so far.
It might be an issue with your own hardware rather than the game as no one else on PS5 has reported blurry textures. I had to repair my playstation recently to help with overheating and I see very little blurry texturs in comparison to before. It was an issue with most PS5s.
Hello! I can see you're very frustrated, but please do not take that frustration out on other members of the forum. Screenshots help us add information to tickets. If you can provide a screenshot, I can give this information to our devs. We haven't had any other complaints on PS5 for texture issues, so it could be something else causing it. Are you using any alternative liveries from Creator Club?
Lot of people saying they're on ps5 and not having issues, I'm not having any either. As with most games on earth, Sometimes on ps5 when you first load in, itl spawn a low LOD version of the train while it finishes loading (within a split second of loading the textures will refresh and everything is perfect) That's just regular rendering. Is this what you're referencing?? I've been running the 171 since midday yesterday and I haven't noticed a single blur, there's not much going on to cause one. Definitely sitting around 60fps 90% of the time on a PS5 base model with no blurry textures. Only time I get any frame hitches is at London road when approaching Brighton, again the game is loading things in and it just lags for a moment while it does so. That's not something id bother asking about, it's a purely mechanical issue and it's only a PS5, my similarly specced PC could hardly achieve this fidelity so it's clearly optimized enough to work. they're nowhere near as powerful as they felt when they launched, anyway. This route is running really really well and none of the already known minor bugs the update launched with have caused me any immersion breaks really. OP could have a full ssd on their ps5 but it would normally just crash typically after a few mins of gameplay. And while I'm here; Hats off on that 177 Devs, absolutely brilliant unit. This one might have the best representation of train physics and sound so far for me. The way it settles onto dips in the line and follows super elevated line around curves, the residual bounce from the airbags looks amazing but preserves the sense of weight in the unit. Etc etc etc. I can definitively say this is a good one, which continues the trend .
Harry, with all due respect and I mean that as I appreciate you addressing this, going through all that to “prove” the issue to DTG is a waste of time. Nothing will be fixed and anyone who has been with the game for any amount of time knows that. DTG will just move on to the next dlc and leave this unfixed like Birmingham Crewe which is an unplayable piece of garbage in PS5. For what it’s worth, I looked at the issue again and it appears to be linked to the angle at which the forward facing view is held. Unless the angle is JUST right, the speedometer appears blurred unless it is zoomed in. Also, the horn sounds non-existent. In regards to taking it out on other people on the forum, I didn’t. What I did do was respond to wiseass comments from people who for one reason or another feel obliged to defend this game no matter what.
Genuinely, I think the issue might be your PS5. There have been some changes introduced with ECWr that have drastically reduced players reporting blurring of in game textures. Your reluctance to provide DTG the evidence would suggest you're lying for attention. While you may have issues with TSW, you seriously need to look at your own hardware. A quick Google search will give you some quick tips to check basic over heating problems and changing the orientation of the console to see if changing that improves things. You are currently in the minority of users reporting blurred textures on the East Coast way remaster, so you need to help DTG find the causes, which I'm pretty sure will be your consoles liquid metal has dried out or isn't smoothly applied over the APU anymore. And before you call me a fanboy, do a quick search of the forums, I've been very critical of DTG in recent years.
As this post is based on the 171, and yes I’m also on PS5, I have noticed a few little issue on this dlc. I noticed that some of the coaches have no power cable links from one coach to other, seems to be the centre ones. Also when I open doors it seems that again on the centre ones most coaches the door opening indicator do not come on front and rear coaches do light up. And last one is the gap between the coach this wide?
I think given that not many users are having blurring like your describing on the route, it is more than reasonable to be asked to provide a screenshot if you have one of if you wish. This seems like a genuine issue that is not widespread so any data to solve it will be valuable
Yeah, I'm on Series S with all layers apart from the Flying Scotsman railtour switched on (I don't have the Class 33 which I believe top and tails the service alongside the scotsman) and it's perfectly fine
I'm not trying to antagonise anyone, but I don't think the OP wants to hear anything other than their own voice and is set on being confrontational. My personal word of advice to everyone (including DTG themselves actually) is not to even engage with this individual as everyone has tried helping and received nothing other than rude responses and the OP clearing doesn't want to help themselves other than moan. You can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped. There's been countless replies trying to offer assistance to the OP from players and DTG, including assuring them this may be a problem with their individual console and the only response you get is rude shooting people down. It'd probably be a wise idea for DTG to close this thread now to avoid further conflict.
Is it possible you have the setting on that precludes announcements from the cab? If so, you’ll be hearing them from the passenger saloon, muffled by the cab door.
Certainly odd then. I can’t speak for the 377/3, but the 171’s & 313 are playing them at the usual level. Probably worth checking the ‘all announcement’ & ‘cab’ volume settings. Aswell as seeing if there’s any difference in cab & in the saloons.
I am pretty positive I got all of those on, but I will check when I get home... I noticed this cos in other trains that got this feature it works fine
yep, everything is on... I mean, might be my external DAC Scout mode setting, but then, there is no issue on other trains/units... like, I can hear what they are saying, clearly, it just sounds a bit muddied
Yeah everything looks correct there. Looking at other posts this DLC has some oddly inconsistent issues, such as missing tracks, missing platform announcements & consist misalignments etc. I think this is the most inconsistently buggy DLC I’ve seen for TSW so far.
also, not sure how announcements in 171 are supposed to work, but in many cases announcements usually start by mentioning the name of the service... here the first announcement I get is the first next station and yeah then they say the name of the service
