Route East Coastway Remastered Feedback Thread

I like the remaster and new timetables a lot. Definitely a nice, short run with a bit of variety

Forgot how much fun the 313 is to drive! That's mostly what i've driven so far.

My biggest issue is station announcements trigger rarely if ever. I've heard them exactly twice (one time at Falmer and once at Brighton) across multiple runs. Hopefully that's an easy fix!

 

I'm on PC and ps5 pro there are no station announcements

 

On ps5 pro the route runs very smoothly but not at Brighton station stuttering as you arrive and a bit choppy when walking around station

 

So I redid this scenario.

When approaching all the "go via" points I get a "we are now approaching..." announcement, when I've passed it I get a "Welcome aboard this Southern service to...." Announcement.

It applied update on ps5 yet no difference visually. Just says east coast way on home page

 

Not sure if anything can be done with a signalling issue (I can’t imagine this is prototypical at all) as it’s only be introduced with the remaster.

TEB103 a four aspect signal on the approach to Eastbourne shows a green aspect, when the next signal TEB105 a 2 aspect shows a yellow aspect, and this signal is capable of showing Y/R only.

Before the remaster, TEB103 was always a double yellow if the route into Eastbourne was set right through into the platforms.

Curiously, TEB105 shows a green aspect on the HUD when it’s impossible to display that aspect!

 

I also drove several services on the 171 now with DSD switched on and had no issues.
Cannot say anything about the 377/3 though.

Edit: just tried the 377/3 on 2L99 (Brighton to Lewes). The DSD sound came on, I acknowledged it but there still was a penalty brake.

Edit 2: using the pedal (with the cursor) stops the alarm but not pressing the circe button on controller.

The wagon loading services at the aggregates terminal are not included in the new timetables as playable services, they were included in the old ones. PS5.

Edit: at least one of them spawns on top of the buffers, so it would derail right away when attempting to play it.

Edit2: it is possible to play these services when returning to free roam after taking the empties there (I did right after 6Y31). They just dont show in the table.

 

In both the 171 and the 377/3: when you turn the safety systems on and put the reverser in forward, you get a notification that an AWS penalty brake has applied and you have to wait. You can however apply power right away. PS5.

 

The silence from DTG on the problems is deafening (as usual)

 

Just had someone walk off the platform in front of my Class 313 at Lewes, Brighton direction platform.

Why can't you sort this LOVE out, DTG?

Other than that, thus far the remaster is looking quite nice.

Regarding the Class 700,

I seem to be having issues with the Class 700 on the newly remastered East Coastway. I turn the key, set the reverser, pull the throttle and nothing happens. This seems to occur for every service. However, I have noticed that the 700 works on other routes (Southeaster High Speed and ECML). I notice that when the key is turned and reverser set, there is an audible sound of the brakes releasing. This does not happen when driving on the East Coastway.

Hi! The remaster is gorgeous! Driving London commuter feels like being in a cave now with the dim inferior lighting! so GREAT JOB there! Really. I have noticed though that PIS inside the trains on the remastered route only show the destination and no scrolling this is a Southern service welcome aboard and calling at xxx stations. I do have the 171/377/3 add-on too so this might be related to the new time tables, or it can also be an issue with the remaster. Not sure which. I'm on XBOX Series S by the way.

 

New timetable. It shows new graphic, had update installed etc and just shows old timetable and graphics.

 

There is no new timetable in the remaster. Only with the 171/377 DLC.

What platform are you on? Have you tried uninstalling the DLC and installing again? Maybe renew the registry?

 

As this is a remaster, I'd like to ask that Lewes footbridge correctly represents what is actually there in real life.

 

Yes. Ps5. It applied the update. I had the old version installed etc. It updated only the route graphic on home page despite it saying it was "remastered" when downloading.

 

Spawned at 0755 into Brighton using the 313 timetable (remastered version), only for the PS5 to go nope and crash. At the time I was streaming ad Ihad just finished a scenario. Will have a nother look to see if it does it straight out of the blocks. I had been streaming on the PS5 for about 4 hours last night.

How about deleting the DLC (via 'manage content') and re-installing?

 

+1 on disappearing tracks around Eastbourne, Xbox Series X. Unsure how this one got through QA when we've all seemed to replicate it in very quick succession? Unsure if this is a remaster issue or 171 pack issue though.

The announcements at Brighton say that Thameslink don't call past London Bridge. Yet they go all the way past there to Bedford (which it says on the PIS as well).

 

Very long missing section of 3rd rail just approaching Hampden Park station from Eastbourne......

How does this get missed??? It's that long my 4 coach train lost all power!!!!!

 

377/2. Just loaded into a service and noticed that their was no aux on the 377/2. Apparently for some reason the train thinks the route is on AC when it should be DC.

 

Yep I've also just had this at Eastbourne with a 377/2...... Had to switch from AC to DC power.

 

Also just noticed when taking a photo that either the 3rd rail has been laid too low or none of the trains have their shoes down? There is always a large gap between the shoes and the 3rd rail. Can't remember ever seeing this on the original route.

 

So I'm guessing the structures weren't given reverb as part of this remaster, at least none noticeable driving from Seaford to Brighton with the cab droplights down on the 313.

Can dtg confirm there are no announcements at any stations on PC and PlayStation 5 pro been playing for a few hours now and nothing only on board announcements working.

 

I wonder if that's because the 377/2 was made specifically for an AC route?

 

I’m on PC Stream and get station announcements at numerous stations. At Brighton they are per much nonstop.

 

Same here, on PC Steam and noticed station announcements at Brighton and at least one other station. Not at all of them, though, as far as I can recall.

Enjoying the remastered route very much.

 

Problem. All ECW liveries have disappeared!.

The system/console (PS5) still has the save data or reskin numbers as shown above yet cannot access them in LD.
A lot of work gone missing.
Even when checking for them in freeroam only a few show up.

All these issues have shown up since the FREE UPDATE.I haven’t purchased the new loco/routes.

I would like to add that more and more issues are becoming a bigger concern now.
Be routes crashing or not being able to enjoy all DLCs and routes at once without major bugs preventing customers from enjoying play time or accessing DLC routes due to game crashes on loading or near the end of a route. (Unplayable).

Does DTG understand how much of an inconvenience these issues are, so when will these matters be resolved?
And will I be compensated for the inconvenience?.

It’s one thing after another, it’s totally unfair on your customers to allow so many issues or inconveniences to impact players.

Will all be fixed in TSW7. Or at least that’s what they’ll tell you.

 

Class 313 with AWS enabled, Key in neutral reverser, turning the cab light on and off with 'L' causes the AWS clear bell to sound.

 

Generally I’m really enjoying the remaster and 171 pack on PS5.

I’ve had the disappearing track at Eastbourne issue, although not all the time.
Most but not all stations missing platform announcements.

However the biggest gripe personally is the track joint/points sounds in the 171 being completely absent. Something is audible at very low speed so I suspect the sounds may be there, just turned right down. Other sounds in the 171 are ok but this is one of the most important sounds in any train so to have it missing will mean it is not finished and therefore unsatisfying to drive.
Hopefully it’s a simple case of turning up the audio, then hey presto, you’ve got a fun train to drive. The 377 is a good example of what we should hear when going over points.

Other than that, thanks to DTG for a free remaster and well done to Tyler/Rivet for breathing new life into this route. The real test is whether these issues get sorted but Tyler seems to have given Rivet some new momentum so it’s only fair to give them a chance.

 

How strange I've not heard one announcement at any stations. I know some other people on here have said they don't have any. I can't work out why some people are and some are not.

No station announcements heard here (PC). Might it depend on having the 171 & 377/3 dlc which I don't have?

 

Not sure as I've not brought the 171 yet. I'm thinking of downloading it again and see what happens. As I said find it strange other people are getting station announcements but not me

 

I know it's been mentioned, but seriously, How the heck did Tracks not spawning at Eastbourne get missed?

I thought I was doing something wrong, so went on training to see if there was anything I missed, but nope. I had the same issues on PS5.
