Just a little thread to say thank you to Matt for his incredible fundraising stream over the last few days! Not only has it been incredibly entertaining to watch, and listen to the chat with some really interesting guests, but Matt took time to answer many questions, drive on TSW constantly, and host guests at the same time! I think today's stream alone went on for about 13 hours. The stream was very entertaining to watch, and most importantly raised a nice lump sum for a good cause! Well done to all involved and credit where credit is due, Matt done superbly.
Brilliant stream this evening and the guys from Firefly Sim were very interesting, informative and entertaining to listen to. Again we'll done to Mr Matt Peddlesden for your time and dedication to raise money for such a great cause.
Only managed to pop in for half an hour or so to donate, but the banter is always good. Still waiting to see the photo of Matt's 'mop' hairdo from his youth!
A very good stream, I popped in every so often. The Q&A session with TS controllers was very interesting with a hint that there may be a tap changer controller at some point which would be great to see.
Really glad you all enjoyed the stream, and from me a huge celebration to Matt and everyone who supported the event. As a note, over the last 4 years of Matt running these streams and fundraisers, we've all helped raise over £32000 for Special Effect, which is honestly mindblowing, and such a testament to the power of this fantastic community. Well done Matt, and thank you again everyone for changing the lives of people who need it most, bringing joy and fulfilment through the power of games
I don’t suppose you have the bit with the Firefly guys on do you? YT appears to have cut yesterdays video short for replay, presumably due to it’s length Well done Matt, fantastic amount raised!
Hi JetWash. I think their Twitch channel has the entire stream. It's an additional two hours on Twitch vis-a-vis YouTube.
For anyone interested, here's a summary made by Gemini with timestamps included. Unfortunately the Day 2 stream on YouTube was cut off and the last few hours of content is not included here. https://gemini.google.com/share/f272dd958e33
A big congratulations to Matt. I've not had any time to watch the stream, but was there any interesting snippets from his responses to any particular questions raised?
So many things were answered (a lot of the questions were very specific so no one will be able to remember them all). Two off of the top of my head from my own questions, "Around the launch of TSW5 there was mention of the Bakerkoo Line receiving updates, is this still happening?" Answer was: A very well known remaster character looked into it but the light baking is so incredibly long and tedious it might have put the off. (Understandably). When the conversation about routes we'd like to see from other countries, I mentioned the Eurostar HS1 route from St Pancras to Calais... The answer was apart from the light baking being a nightmare, the actual route wouldn't offer much variety and most of the journey would be inside a tunnel limited to 100mph opposed to full line speed. The shuttle service would be the only thing that would offer real variety. (Again a fair point). The streams went on for a very long time so you'd probably be best rewatching them in real time in a similar way to how you would with a podcast and see some of the questions and answers for yourself, as there are to many to list other then the ones I asked myself. Before I forget, I forgot to mention, a thank you to both Firefly and AABS who made some really nice contributions to the stream and questions too!
Okay, so a lot of "no"s then and I imagine no questions that might make DTG look bad were answered. Thanks, I don't think listening to it will be necessary.
