Take things in a new direction as Vector Simulations’ Liberec - Stará-Paka arrives on March 10th, delivering - for the first time - Czech trains and challenges for Train Sim World 6!

This route will represent the northwestern half of a single-track line connecting the regional capital city Liberec with an Eastern Bohemian conurbation of Hradec Králové and Pardubice, featuring a total of 11 stations and 9 stops, climbing and descending over 250-300 meters across a 75 km long run. You’ll also find 8 tunnels with an overall length of 2421 meters and over 80 bridges of various sizes and lengths!

    All Clear Ahead
Get ready to explore a new country by learning the ropes! The basic principles of signalling apply but there are some unique elements to look out for to master this route, including of course, becoming familiar with all the aspects.

Check out our Czech Signalling Guide from last week to kick things off, and look forward to the manual which will also be available within the coming days. Of course, you can also see the route in action live tonight in our Liberec - Stará Paka preview stream!

Liberec - Stará Paka Preview Livestream - Live tonight at 19:00 GMT!
Join Executive Producer Matt and Community Manager Harry from Dovetail Games, along with Dominik from Vector Simulations, for the Liberec - Stará Paka preview.

Twice the Traction, Double the Diesel
    Class 843
    [IMG]

Buckle up for a gas-guzzling ride through the Jizera mountains with the unique Class 843. This single-unit railcar was designed for rural passenger services throughout Czechia and have been in operation since 1995. Being a diesel railcar, passenger capacity is capped at the number of seats it contains… or is it? The 843 does not always operate alone, and can often be seen paired up with Class 043 (or Btn) coaches to form longer trains.

The Class 843 arrives in 2 variants, featuring traditional or LED headlights, and both it and its coaches come ready for service in 2 distinct liveries; blue & white, plus red & cream.

A variety of passenger services await, including semi-fast and all-stopping patterns, some of which can take the best part of 2 hours to traverse the route! Rest easy and enjoy the journey if you wish, as the 843 comes equipped with a robust cruise control system with easy implementation to pick any pace - just keep a watch out for speed limit changes!

Know your services, they are labelled as such:
    • R (Rychlík/Fast train) - stop only at the biggest stations
    • Sp (Spěšný vlak/Local stopping train) - have a bit more stops, but don’t stop everywhere
    • Os (Osobní vlak/Stopping train) - stop everywhere
    Class 750
    [IMG]

Feast your eyes (and ears) on the iconic Class 750. Known as “Goggles” for its distinctive cyclops-like protruded cab windscreen, the Class 750 was built for the primary role of hauling freight, although passenger variants were also built. Do not adjust your screen, you are in fact seeing a total of 5x liveries depicting the loco in several notable schemes, including modern blue, classic red, and more.

With the Class 750, you’ll have much to learn as you navigate its spacious cab and squeeze through the accessible engine room. There’s no such comfort as cruise control here, operating the 750 is a classic hands-on experience.

There are several types of freight services on the route, but the most involved are the Mn trains (Manipulační vlak/Manipulation train) which will keep you at your busiest. These trains gradually run their way up and down the line over the course of the day, picking up and dropping off wagons at each principal station, industry or yard. A full shift of these movements can take the entire day to complete, and include mainline running, drop offs, pick-ups and shunting! Also available are a series of Pn and NEx type freight services which offer the chance to run longer segments of the route without interruptions, aside from weaving around passenger services of course! Pn = Průběžný náklad/General freight train & NEx = Nákladní express/Freight express train.

Freight trains are made up of the following new and repurposed rolling stock; Eas, Zaes, Roos and Da-k wagons are new, Laaers & Habbiins are modified, Sggmrss are also included.

    How the Time Tables
In all, you can look forward to 59 services for the Class 843 with a further 44 for the Class 750, based on operations around 2018. Sharing a single-track route, services meet at stations where passing loops reside. Stay on time to keep things running smoothly.

Adding a bit of familiar flavour to the route, the DB BR 642 from Maintalbahn makes an appearance on a handful of services between Turnov and Železný Brod, as well as AI at Liberec! German motive power is certainly no stranger to Czech rails, and in this case, several ex-DB 642s which still retained their red livery for some time regularly ran along the route in 2018.

    Situations and Scenarios
No less than 9 scenarios await to put your newfound skills to the test, from battling unrelenting summers with overheat-prone traction and challenging troubleshooting aboard the Class 843, to complex shunting and storm aftermaths with the Class 750.

Liberek - Stará Paka Route Showcase
If you want an extra sneak peak of the rolling stock, the scenery and a couple of interesting locations before the Preview Livestream tonight, you can take a look at the newly released route showcase!

    Freedom of Travel
Use the power of Free Roam and Livery Designer to recreate your own inspired European journeys. Czech Railways are not the only operator of the Class 750, with examples found in Italy, Slovakia and Poland. Other trains in TSW such as the DB BR 628 are also appropriate, with variants having operated in much the same style as the 642s do today. Perhaps you really want to break the rules and tackle the route with steam, despite its British or blue origins…

    T-Minus 10… well, 7
The Liberec - Stará-Paka route will release on March 10th for PC (Steam, Epic Games) and Gen 9 Console platforms (Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5) for £32.99 / €39.99 / $44.99.

In the meantime, you can check out some info and facts of the line for yourself on the VlakRegion website.

£33 for this wow thought would have been £25 seeing as its a single line route.

Sounds like a very comprehensive experience with a mixture of passenger, freight and pick-up/drop-off services.

I will probably purchase this dlc at some point, but not at a price of $45. That's just too expensive, especially with all the other routes and trains dropping like flies right now.

if you think pricing should be entirely down to mileage then maybe you’re not familiar enough with the pricing structure of tsw

What’s the justification of the price being more than usual?

Looks very good, and is very tempting. But not at that price. :o
I'll stick to it and will wait for a discount, and for the first impressions to dribble in.

This is the same price as Zwolle - Groningen last year. New rolling stock, new signaling and safety systems, new country etc. Similar reasons as to why Zwolle was much the same.

I think i will wait until i have seen the preview and see what others say it performs like on xbox. I have feeling its gonna be not that great . But time will tell i hope its good. Then I might consider buying even tho its a bit on the pricy side.

We have regional prices, so it will probably be cheaper. And what's $45 these days? Just a one-time grocery trip to the supermarket.

Man that Soviet-esque looking 750 looks goooood.

Live stream & other gameplay is going to be pretty dependant for me here, £33 is more than I expected to be honest, and whilst it does look really good, the Dutch route was good quality too, however it lacked much reason to go back & replay it often.

Not at all saying it’s not worth the asking price, it’s more about what I’ll get out of it & there are cheaper routes I’ve got more out of than expensive ones. For me this price does also bring more light onto the lack of licensing, something I’d overlooked until it dropped as one of the most expensive packs you can buy.

In any case, I look forward to seeing gameplay.

Also if anyone can answer, as far as I can tell, the passenger services are end to end runs, so are we to expect loco run arounds/coach shunting at either end of the route?

YES PLEASE. This is exactly what we've been asking for.
Now to see if they deliver on the promise that DTG hasn't.

Shap is longer, but could have far less depth to be fair. 75km is not a "short" route, and from the description (no one knows exactly until it releases), it could have a lot more stock and stuff to do. If not for layering from other pre-existing UK stock, there'd only be one loco for WCMLOS, not two, and not in several liveries.
If the freight works out to be actual shunting and "in depth" as promised (again PROMISED), then that'll be something nearly unique in DTG since DTG seems to have more or less given up on complete freight runs for the past 5 years.

Now will I get it at full cost?
    Maybe.
    If it has good reviews.
Been burned a few times by promises that didn't turn out.
However, it's not an unfair price if it delivers what's promised.
Certainly I can see it having MORE value to me than Shap if it pans out.
    We'll see when it releases.

The two things holding it back are a) lack of an existing ecosystem that the UK or Germany have for layers and b) it's an unknown company until they prove themselves. The actual route itself LOOKS decent. If it were what is promised I think the price isn't amazing but it's fair.

There is a unit which has a passenger wagon attached to it so I assume it has to do a turn round move at the end point

Yes sorry just to be clear I do mean with a coach attached. Just wondering how it’s done in reality, weather the 843 self shunts or a second unit gets involved.

Are you seriously going to claim it's a unique, new feature to copy paste a Class 47 on a route?
Compared with building 2 custom new trains in multiple liveries?
C'mon you know better than that.
New custom locos that aren't copy-pastes like Shap are running for $16.99 apiece as DLC.
It'd be like adding the Class 220 in with the Riviera Line release. What do those cost bundled?
If you don't want to buy it, then that's fine.
    It's just not outrageously priced.
It's fair for what it is compared to other TSW DLC.

Just hoping the preview stream will be a bit more bearable than last two times. Stick to the topic. Get the facts right. Not too much irrelevant nonsense. I’m watching to get a good preview of the product and whether it’s worth my money. If I want a Big Show, I’ll watch Michael McIntyre on Saturday, ta

I’ve not paid more than £30 for a DLC to date and I’m yet to be convinced that this will be the first to break that rule

Wow, very impressed with the variety of the roling stock. Two new trains, all those different colour schemes, 4(!) new freight waggons (and two more...). Looking forward to see more in the stream and will definately buy this route as soon as it comes out...

Its like with all passion projects (and by the looks of it I am assuming this will be one of those), you just know it will be good!

Was expecting £33 as that has been the going rate for a route with two new traction types for some time. Though unlike the German or UK routes they can't drop in much of the way in layers to sweeten the deal.

However I do think there is a strong case at these pricing levels to bring back the 10% off pre release purchase discount, which would drop it in around the slightly more friendly £30 mark.

That discount is dead & buried. They were basically giving away every 10th copy & likely saw better income without it. The people that buy at launch likely aren’t bothered by £2/3.

    Personally if I wasn’t going to buy at £33, I wouldn’t at £30 either.

Build is always the most up to date 'retail' build as opposed to a dev build. So what you see is what you'll most likely see on launch providing there isn't a pre-launch update.

I know Matt P isn’t an advocate of this request because it ‘breaks immersion’ but I do think it would be a nice feature if there was an option of changing the language on driver info screens to English or from English to a players local language!

Oh I hear where you're coming from but that over £30 is still a psychological break point, to some extent. However you do have to wonder at the economics of DTG's operation when SimRail can afford to sell a 100km route extension and a new train via a bundle for just over £13 which also included a 10% discount off what will be the full selling price. And yes, what would have been £9.89 instead of £10.99 for each item does make a Day One purchase more amenable and then the bundle sweetener on top clinched it.

Anyhow all that said, it does look as if this will be worth the money but there will come a point at which players may decide they have had enough of paying a surcharge to subsidise the expensive offices in Chatham... :)

For me $40 is a red line and one which I won't cross for a single track route. 45 miles with just a few possible meets, though having a freight component is a plus. I have a feeling this dlc will go on sale fairly soon and with all the other routes coming up, especially Crewe to Preston and NY to Stamford, I need to be selective.
So it’s a pass for me for the moment.

Isn't simrail kinda double dipping since they make it for the professional simulator? Also even if you put the two DLCs together, it is still 25€ for a train and a route with pretty lackluster scenery (hopefully there are fixes coming, Lodz looks more like a park than a huge city). Here you get a route and two trains. If we add an additional train to it like the impuls it still comes up to like 37€ for it, not even counting the new four freight wagons included in the TSW route.

Sorry, I’m a bit tired of hearing about the differences between SimRail and TSW. It’s an apples‑to‑oranges comparison, and I don’t like that.

Nothing justifies the argument about why one should be cheaper than the other, and the whole discussion about pricing is incredibly unreasonable. SimRail is a completely different studio with its own way of working, so the two have nothing in common. You wouldn’t go to a Renault dealership and complain that their cars are too expensive because BMW sells cheaper ones… It’s simply rude, but online that kind of behaviour has somehow become normal. All I can really say is: if you prefer SimRail so much, then just go play SimRail and stop complaining. I don't mind!!!!

Um, why are you responding like this to me? :D I didn't bring up Simrail. I love both games and play them about equally actually.

Sorry, but this obviously applies to everyone who keeps making these comparisons here or talking about pricing between both games. Sorry if it came across as directed at you in particular. ;)

Watch the stream and looks awsome but I can see consoles struggling with this route. I hope im wrong I really want this route now.
