East Coast Way Remaster Discussion Thread.

Do you know if the 377/4 (and by extension 377/3) PIS is being corrected, or is it staying as it was half a decade ago?

 

One bug I came across is in the 313. When I press L on my keyboard is clears the AWS so when I spam L I get a long bell ringing lol.

 

The only compliant after this remaster is the remote hills (and unfortunately the 2D trees on them). Obviously I blame no one for this (it's from a TSW2020 era route anyway), but I now think those are among the most beautiful aspects around this route in real life, after my visit to the route last Saturday.


Also we need two extra bushes at Lewes...

 

Regency javelin railtour, just loaded passengers etc at Brighton, started off after the loading success message, and now it tells me to unlock the doors ?

Havent seen this so far on the PS5.
Although I am going to try and find some spare time this afternoon to have a look as I have had about one run doing a scenario, then after that it crashed. So Will try and give it a good run on the PS5. Job Hunting this morning.

 

For me, it started out fine, then it started to flicker when I zoomed forward, but it sorted itself out. Then it went nuts and was flickering and track and train disappearing before it then righted itself.

When I started part 2 it did the exact same thing in the same spot as I was making my way to Brighton.

I wil have a look this afternoon. I am going for a walk, as its currently a lovely day down here on the Southcoast, so gonna clear the cobwebs out between my ears. Then come back and give this and a few other services a run on the PS5 version. I will report any probelms straight to Dovetail for these if I get any that is. Can I just ask for your PS5 specs as well?

Not sure about the spec, sorry not technically minded lol. It's just a normal PS5 though, no modifications.

The service was ran in May, Custom weather, minimal clouds and a bit of wind.

This is a real gem to come out of the pack. Why on earth does the game treat this as a signal at danger? Found out the hard way when I drove this service myself, where I was (for a brief period) quite impressed that I would be ‘calling on’ to another train in the platform, even if there was no approach release on the signal for this. You can imagine I was quite miffed then when I was sent kicking to the menu screen, told I had passed a signal at danger!

Really fundamental that the first principles of signalling are preserved in a remaster, this is just such a daft and unusual thing to have gone wrong. I think TSW as a whole has a lot to perfect when it comes to signalling, and I think this should be a focus going forward, as I’d love to see a realistic implementation of ETCS L2 in the near future.

Also on signalling, there are discrepancies between the HUD and what’s actually going on, both at the aforementioned signal protecting Brighton, and its counterpart at Eastbourne. Both of these show as ‘green’ on the HUD on approach, when they are of course only capable of showing a single yellow. There are also numerous signals and even banner repeaters that show as semi-automatic, eit

Great that the route had a remaster, even if not a completely polished one, however I can’t help but feel a little bit disappointed in the DLC, especially as somewhat of a local!

I was playing the GWE remaster, doing a passenger ride sitting in a seat, go to external view and return into the cabin and you are stuck in the middle of the train, stuck in the walls unable to move etc. Done a passenger in East Coast remaster and same thing happened, like what the hell?

 

It's a weird issue that I encountered also on DLG, likely some core issue. Pressing "1" can resolve this and send you back to the proper place.

 

DTG Liam is there any chance of this being looked at? The signal should be held at danger until on approach (owing to the low line speed of the diverging junction).

If there's one single item that kills immersion for me, its incorrect signalling. Everything else is flash in the pan, you barely see or notice it for more than a few seconds, but improper signalling gets you every single time you use the route.

I really am enjoying the remaster, by the way. It was a route I always got on well with, and am finding a lot of joy in it once again - so a big thank you from me.

 

This Turbostar rip down the East Coastway is quickly becoming one of the best runs in the game!

Agreed. The sounds are improved, I agree they do seem to be missing some of the low down "grunt" you hear but they are not by any means poor.

It will be good when they update the 377 sounds. I have driven the WCML 377 instead, which was very enjoyable after I worked out I had to set it to DC.

 

A few more screenshots, just to show off how fantastic the remaster is. The lighting really is incredible now.







Combined with the live weather mod, it really does make a world of difference and it was nice to do a few runs lately not on a completely cloudy day!
