I must admit it didn't seem so pronounced going over points so I wondered at first. I noticed it when they were on the move.

What's really exciting about TSW is having trains with active suspension coupled to other trains that don't have this enhancement.
It's the most infuriating thing of all.
The philosophy behind all this, according to some smart-alecks, is that the reason some wagons or cars lack active suspension is so that from the cab of the locomotive, while you're driving, you won't see the wagons attached to the rear.
So, could you explain to me why the freight cars of the Semmeringh Bahn or Maintalbahn have this feature?
And above all, the product, for example on Steam, will be described as having this feature installed, when in reality it will only be implemented partially.

    And it costs 40.00 Euros.

    Misleading advertising.

I mean, thats ok, I guess :) ... I am kinda hoping this does so well we get maybe some mainline content or sth where we can see the system in full implementation :)

But it's unlikely to be quick. The overhead contact network, for example, would have to be drawn from scratch; it's different from the German version.

Why is the lack of suspension on freight wagons such an issue? It‘s not like you‘re driving them

People will always find something to moan about Iol.

Day 1 purchase for me also, I was impressed by the attention to detail.

Is the James Bond sticker officially part of the livery on this loco or did someone just decide to put it there?

This is the kind of feedback that Dominik was asking for at the end of the stream.

If you tell them that it feels like the train does not bounce enough when going over points they can probably make some adjustments.

anyway, during the stream they mentioned that the actual really long freight jobs are split into several parts, like you take some wagons, drop em somewhere else, there you do some shunting, take new cargo etc until you get to the final destination, often waiting for permission to continue in between... like, actual freight work finally :D

since the livery designer doesnt have free drawing or snapping functions, you have to make these shapes from basic stuff and tons of other actions and aligning which is all a pain to do :D

Unfortunately due to ignorance some people expect everything to bounce around like a Pacer on steroids. It was more subtle than some but it clearly has suspension physics, plus the devs confirmed it.

also, that particular loco never travels like super fast, so those bounces wont be that profound, I guess? :)

This can be made that's a DLC for the root at the same time the alternative skin version of it is actually a German 650

Well, it shouldn't be so pronounced, that's the point of having suspension on the train. It shouldn't dip much over junctions. You can see the trains rocking from side to side, but shouldn't see them dipping so much over joints.
We have used suspension physics both for axle-bogie and bogie-body, so it behaves a bit differently from other vehicles, which utilise only one of those links.
Class 750 has quite stiff suspension, but air suspension on class 843 makes it behave like a ship on rails.

I'm on a self-imposed new routes ban because of the Trophies thing. But I might buy this route to support the developer who seem to have done a cracking job.

Look, that’s great news! I actually think all DTG trains have ridiculous suspension. It’s like a bouncy ball going up and down when you go over a set of points. I was pleasantly surprised during the stream by the insane level of quality that’s been put into this route. Really every detail has been thought of.

How many people are on your team, if I may ask? Huge compliments to you all for this route. I can’t wait to try it myself.

Maybe next time, remember to complete the suspension work on the remaining carriages.
    €40.00 isn't exactly peanuts...

Doesn’t matter if you’re not riding on them. If suspension features are supposed to be a TSW 6 standard. Why not have the feature anyways? There are many players who are detail oriented and care about this even if you don’t. Especially when the route is being sold at a premium price.

We get it, you already said it like 9 times that you are not buying it.
Dominik explained it thoroughly on the stream that main reason why freight wagons don't have it is because it significantly affects performance while being basically invisible. William explained in other thread that it's also not even very realistically behaving on freight wagons.
If it's reason for you not to buy it, that's fine, but no need to make a dozen of aggressive posts about it.

This addon comes with 843 in multiple variants, 043 in multiple repaints, 750 in multiple variants, Eas, Zaes, Roos, Da-k, new variants of Laaers and Habbiins, as well as previously used Sggmrss (which was already a czech wagon on german routes). Both traction vehicles are prepared on almost expert level with accessible and working high quality machine room on 750, accessible cabinets on 843 and advanced systems and functioning diagnostic screen on the motor car. All-new scenery assets made from ground up including 20 stations and stops, new signalling system, new track equipment and even completely new vegetation optimised for performance so that you can drive through actual forests.

And it is offered for just €4 more than Dresden-Leipzig, which features no new rolling stock, vast majority of tracks you already paid for before and to this day even such basic things like signals don't work.

Well I think it's just unnecessary and the price is totally justified with or without this suspension. There isn't any situation where you'd even see suspension aside from looking directly at bogies.

Excellent stuff. I get the point people are making about suspension but as I think someone already stated, not every train bounces around like the Class 142 Pacer. There has also been a tendency with suspension to focus on the “nodding” vertical movement, rather than the more common lateral sway particularly on uneven track.

Anyhow, really looking forward to seeing what you guys have created here. Just hope there is a nice noisy 749 or a little 810 in the offing as a follow up DLC… :)

So the philosophy is: I add something and I take something else away.

Mentioned in the other thread but worth repeating here. After watching more of the stream, I presume there is some proximity mechanism built in to stop NPC's from using the foot crossing in between platforms when a train gets close?

Otherwise this will be another route where we are constantly having "one unders".

Reminds me of the 100km/h Fiats Panda right in front of me on level crossing in Simrail :D but then again, knowing the track record (pun intended) of Polish drivers this might actually be prototypical

And of course he had to ruin one of the few pendos

Many years ago I briefly owned a Fiat Punto. I doubted its crash worthiness versus a crisp packet never mind a train! Not for nothing known as a Turin Tin Can!
