The 700 is the same as the 377/2 when used on ECW Remastered and spawns in AC mode so you have to manually change it to DC power. With the 700 that means you just change the mode switch from auto to DC and the Power Supply switch to On. With the 377/2 from WCMLS you do similar and press the DC mode button on the upper left panel from memory.
1G06 the 0745 from Eastbourne to Brighton, has a "Go via London Road" waypoint. Approaching it, you'll get an announcement that the train is approaching Brighton. A few seconds later you'll get an announcement "This is London Road" followed by "This is the Southern service to Brighton, the next stop is Brighton." Despite the service not being scheduled to stop at London Road.
Also happens all the way through the bridge strike scenario. Numerous train announcements when passing through stations as though you have stopped at them.
There are announcements on The PC and PS5 (soz dont have a PS5 pro). At Brighton they apparently do not announce inbound trains, But on the route Station announcements are usually made about 5 minutes boefroe the train departs or arrives. You do get to hear some announcements. I have heard them. But they are faint especially if you have the on board announcements going off off at the same time. The announcements on ECW will be looked at as well apparently. Hentis
As much as I love this remaster having played it now for many hours, the thing that really lets this down very much is the ECW version 377/4 (as well as the 'brand-new' 377/3 being exactly the same) featuring poorer sounds and unrealistic PIS. There's also a couple other frustrations which I'll list in detail for feedback once I have more time.
so 2018 is the one that the remaster adds and 377/3 timetable is the one you get with the 171 / 377/3 pack?
anyway, two little things I noticed just now that I'm doing 313 service to Seaford: 1) if you hit L key aka Cab lights, it clears AWS light 2) it has DSD (no Vigilance switch tho), so it doesnt do the vigilance beep? I mean, even on longer stretches where you dont move either throttle or brake, no beeps... is this intended? edit: regarding no.2, I have read in other threads that you can turn on DSD, it wont have audio, it wont do any penalty thingies... and that by just sitting into driver's seat, it is taken care of? I mean, I can hear metal clink sound when I sit down, is that the sound of pressing the pedal?
The 313 was never fitted with the Vigilance device, it was added by mistake, even without the audio. What the button does though is activate the DSD device so the driver has to help physically pressing it down.
so the sound you hear when sitting down in 313 is the pedal being pressed, kinda? edit: so what does the DSD do in this case in-game? like, if I stand up while in motion it is going to beep? or is it just cosmetic here
sorry for more posts, but I keep posting as I encounter stuff - I just noticed a weird thing about 313 throttle delivery... as you keep going up from Off through notches to notch 4, everything is normal... but then as you go down, it kinda stays like in full power until you hit Off, which cuts the power... and then if you go up again, it takes a bit to kick in... is this how it is supposed to behave?
Didn't know where to post this as there is no 313 thread. I love 313 but I find tricky to actually hold speed. Im either slowing real quick or going to fast . Anyone got any tips would be appreciated. When this first come out im sure it was easier to maintain speed. Might just be tho lol. Thanks
you see cos when I drive any other train, lets say 377, I go up notches, then hold 4 till I reach my target speed, and then go down to either cruising or notch 1 and 2 to keep the speed... having to go to Off and then back up is like... is this some unique quirk of the 313? or, ehm, care to elaborate a bit? cos I am having a hard time understanding why sth would work like this (I believe some old tube stock worked like if you wanted to change the throttle, you had to zero it first and then slam it back to desired position)
The 377 has a completely different traction system which behaves as you describe. The 313 has resistance controlled DC motors as did the tube stock you mention. The resistors are switched in and out by a camshaft. Probably better described in the manual for the TSC AP Class 313: APC313_Manual.pdf. All post-war BR DC EMUs up to and including the 455s, before they were fitted with a new traction system, worked in the same way.
now this is what I'm talking about when I am looking for a clear, information-rich, to-the-point answer... so if I understand it correctly, it really behaves kinda like the tube stock (or at least how it should work cos the in-game tube stock has this botched) so... basically you dont accelerate the way you usually do in other, maybe newer stock, but you select the type/kind of acceleration you need at the moment... like if you have a slow section, you hit notch 1... with a bit faster section where you dont need a whole lot of acceleration, you hit notch 2... if you hit a section where you can accelerate properly, you hit notch 3 and then eventually 4 and then, to regulate your speed, you hit Off and go back to whatever notch you need to hold speed correct? edit: "At any time, it is possible to halt the progression listed above by selecting a lower power handle position (except 0). For example, if you wish not to take all of the resistances out in the ‘Series’ notch, you can hold your current level of acceleration by placing the power handle back into the ‘Shunt’ notch. Finally, you can only decrease power by returning the power handle to 0, or OFF, and then re-applying the power to your desired notch." How can you "halt the progression" if selecting a lower position doesnt decrease power... or am I confusing sth here?
Hey folks - can anyone with missing tracks let me know what services you've seen this one and where? I have Eastborne as a location, but I'm missing some details on platform (PC/XB/PS) and if there are any other locations this is happening.
Hi Harry, I noticed it on the 1G06 Eastbourne to Brighton service on PS5, As well as another 171 service from Eastbourne to Brighton (Sorry don't recall the service number). The Lovers Walk to Brighton service I noticed it on was 5G32. All issues are on PS5
Yes, basically. In most circumstances unless the line speed was low the usual routine was to go into notch 1 to get the train moving and then straight to notch 4 and let the control system do its thing. There's something wrong with the way the 313's notch 4 is configured in TSW though, the power comes in with a jerk much below about 30 mph and you get wheel slip. Selecting a lower position stops the camshaft stepping up. 'Halting Progression' works in TSC, not tried it in TSW though. The technique was used in conditions of low adhesion to prevent excess wheel slip but you wouldn't want to run to long with resistances in circuit as eventually you'd have them burn out.
ok so it is basically modelled like... lets hope players wont think into it too much so lets do it approximately (so it is done better than the Tube stock but still not correctly I guess)... like, you should notice how each notch behaves... you kinda notice if you gradually get up notch by notch, but if you go a notch down, it has zero effect in-game so I guess I will do 313 services on days when my brain doesnt insist on overthinking too much lol
Still get a random TPWS activation when leaving platform 5 at Lewes in the direction of Brighton. 10mph limit. Still get activated even below 10mph.
I got missing tracks on 5G01 part 2 (Eastbourne yard to Eastbourne) accessed via journey mode. The tracks were missing from about 20 yards in front of where that service starts right into Eastbourne station. Part 1 had worked fine. I reloaded the service and got the same problem, but solved it by restarting the game and then going back to the same service. The tracks appeared fine that time. I’m on PC.
A very nice remaster indeed! Two things I noticed on my first run (old timetable, Service 2G50 with the ECW Class 377/4, May, partly cloudy weather, late afternoon): The onboard announcements are missing the train operator (Southern in this case). There‘s just a long pause whenever it should be mentioned (e.g. “This is the [awkward silence] service to Ore.”). There’s an appearance issue with one of the new textures/surfaces. It is some sort of grey gravel/asphalt and used prominently in many places, like between the tracks on the approach to Brighton station, and between Falmer station and the football stadium. It appears unrealistically dark from a distance and then suddenly turns normal (grey) when you move the camera closer. It’s a very sharp transition with lots of jagged texture edges.
Notice Hove (West Coastway Line) & Preston Park (Brighton Mainline) been added on in game route map. Different, suppose other people would think the opposite in regards that branch further along.
For me all that does is irritate me, it's giving us stations we don't have access to and can't be seen by players as they are too far.
Since I still can't use the 313 (when I switched over to TSW6, the 313 for some reason wouldn't install properly at all despite trying multiple times), I haven't been able to play those services. They were enjoyable way back when, so they're probably fine now. Still, I paid full price for that pack and I'm dumbfounded why it just won't work? The only thing I haven't tried is installing the base game (I got it as the UK starter pack), loading it up, backing out and THEN installing the 313 plus ECW.
Platform information boards at Falmer do not function. Edit: Bishopstone also has non functional platform boards.
For all those complaining about the 171/377 I don’t know whether to be impressed or disappointed you’ve not had it refunded. They’ll not be updating it anytime soon. They’ll certainly not going to rush any updates out if they keep your money despite not delivering.
Updates are few and far apart these days its like we have your money let's move onto something else now.
So true. The more they bring out the complicated it gets when issues arise. Some get fixed/others don’t. Which means why buy extra DLC if there is a strong chance of the system crashing. IE now. The route crashes at random, and missing work I’ve spent hours on creating. Thus being affected by this new remastered version. Ask questions and get no answers. It’s poor quality service from beginning to end. Not to mention cost or lack of quality in product and customer services. It’s now at a point where a majority of products are affecting mass customers one way or another. And I guess I could be sympathetic about all this but why if business is business. Provide a quality product and service to customers. If not then as a DTG customer have the right to voice my opinions openly when any consumer/customer rights could be at risk being ignored/broken. For if not then what you say is correct, a basic truth behind the pomp of new releases. Nothing but problems on top of problems. There has to be a point when people ask is this the level of quality or service I deserve from a company. Be new content or free remastered content, as you can see it’s not only me that sees the issues be little or small, both impact a player/a customer full stop. What happened to the saying if you can’t do something right from the go, don’t do it at all. Keep doing something wrong regardless of free content etc is what most will remember. Leaving a reputation behind. One of nothing they do is right. (Cowboys) Do a Job, get it wrong, then go into hiding. (No answer/ no fix). ✌.
You see I’ve often wondered about claiming money back, yet under the PSN terms of sale once a DLC has been downloaded can’t be refunded. If PSN or any other game services work like will look into extreme cases in order to make a valid refund claim I’m not sure. So going of the basic T&C at point of sale suggest I’d have a hard time getting any refund, especially since most of my owned content is from TSW2020/ TSW2 Days. If 48hrs is a know cut of then that too would be hard for some customers to fully comprehend the game before making any decision on if it’s faulty or not in that particular time frame. Then some customers might hold off when DTG announce their findings and what could be in the next batch or update. It’s easy for that 48hrs to fly by before finding or making a decision based on how one DLC performs but could affect other TSW content unbeknownst to the player. Or is this now a common aspect of DLC as in that players must do testing first. With so many variables in a person life this isn’t really viable, not only that it would also suggest if a player feels they need to do any form of testing right away means there is no faith or trust in a brand/product. If so DTG is losing customer trust without knowing, silently eroding customer confidence in future purchases. I did some research into how the games industry works in some basic legal terms. The areas I focused on was how to define what’s faulty or a bug in common legislation in reference to games developers responsibility. How I read it was that for a game to be deemed faulty was how much a developer could fix a problem. Again it’s a common aspect of programming so a small level of error is acceptable for market, how many get fixed is down to the developer. And it’s up to the consumer to determine what’s a reputable company and game. So as a basic rule I class anything below 15 quid as a risk. Why because most customers don’t care about losing money. It’s a pun or just poor customer understanding before spending on what is evidently a bad product. This is all pointing towards the gaming industry operates within weak system or no real legal framework with the gaming industry. How far a game developer can go before it borders on other legal systems such as protection for consumers using any legal consumer rights. But enough of all that. What I’d like to say from a consumer perspective is I do enjoy what TSW can be. So what if I don’t want money back, just a product I purchased because TSW is or seems to be the only market leader in train simulation (For console user at this point). Add the back catalogue of passed purchases, the cost is another factor for staying. Money has been spent on products, some work not a problem, but there’s still the potential of issues or worry. Ie will this route crash, how can anyone enjoy or relax to that. Obviously it’s too late to claim money back so the only alternative is for products to perform in satisfactory condition. And that’s not happening. What options are left. Spent hundreds of pounds since TSW2020, and what do I get for it. Constant issues be new products or issues with free updates. And for anyone in the same boat wanting a refund has no chance. Like Einstein once said “All I want is peace” That’s all I want to, so I too can focus on work without the hassle. It’s not a lot to ask for is it. Personally it’s never about the money either, it’s how much a person is willing to be treated, a DTG customer. ✌.
Not necessarily this route but has anyone found that pulling down cab blinds etc or using the horn, while driving, you knock the reverser out of position? I keep unintentionally applying the brakes this way and it's annoying
Fair question ain’t it?. Would the answer be. A, Bug. B. Lazy, rushed oversight. C. Don’t know, it’s will magically disappear when TSW7 comes out. But seriously though this is poor. And like you ask, how can something like this be missed. It’s a shame because the work done is fantastic and yet there is issues appearing in every aspect of a product or update release. I think TSW4 is the only version I can truly trust. Since then it’s getting worse with no signs of improvement. Something is wrong somewhere for a mistake to happen more than once, not a professional look and a real shame. ✌.
With Steam it’s a time limit on how long you play. Something like 2 hours. But that time is against TSW not the actual add-on bought so you literally have maybe one or two runs to decide and after that you’re stuck with it.
Reason for refund: Not fit for purpose See how that goes for you. It’s what I did on Xbox X. Also added that such poor quality output brings Microsoft Gaming into disrepute with me. honestly, that’s how fed up I am by the shoddy way DTG and its third party developers treat the players.
Anyone seen anything from DTG acknowledging the problem with missing station announcements for some, possibly most, users?
I’ve looked at but not bought this. Regarding refunds.. all you expect is it to work.. and for issues to be fixed. That’s what you’re paying for. How do products with so many faults get past testing? When you press a button where something is supposed to happen that affects the operation of a train, then you’ve every right to expect that to happen. Ie.. start engine.. you expect the engine to start. (This would be at the end of a correctly followed cold start procedure or the only button required as a ‘soft’ start.) The cost of it is irrelevant. As I said previously, if you bought a car that only started occasionally, you’d be back to where you bought it expecting either a fix or your money back.
I've been banging on about no station announcements since release. I'm on PC and ps5 pro and there is nothing dead quite. And yet other people say there are announcements but very quite
Look no further than the current issue of concern over the Czech route. Probably being tested by outsourced contractors in countries where people wandering on the track is a daily occurrence and didn’t think to flag it. As opposed to testing done by real or ex railway people who would have an eye for this sort of thing.
I experienced my first walking dead person a couple of days ago. No splat. No claret. Thankfully there was no company statement to placate accident chasers, ‘Our driver did nothing wrong’. On a serious note it’s not something you’d ever want to experience IRL and it really shouldn’t happen in a game like this. It should be fixed.
