Was a reason ever given as to why the LIRR trains never got the suspension improvements? It is a route where working suspension would be very effective. If I recall correctly, at the time, it was stated LIRR would get it. Also what is the sense in the training centre class 323 having suspension but the Cross City one not getting it? Another route where working suspension would be effective. It seems strange that the 170 has it in the new timetable but the main train on the route doesn't. Also why did the Rosenheim 111 not get it yet the 185 did?
The 314 on Cathcart is another. Imagine going over all that pointwork at Glasgow Central throat with suspension rather than the magic carpet you get now. I know the suspension set up isn't perfect but for me it's better than not having it and is possibly the most immersive development of TSW so far.
I think all trains should have the suspension it makes actually feel like you are driving train rather then just floating along the tracks.
Because everything is done haphazardly. Now, even for new upcoming add-ons, active suspension is now at the developer's discretion and no longer a fixed feature, as previously stated by DTG itself. Buyers are kindly requested to carefully read the product's specifications before purchasing. For example, the upcoming BR 145 will not have this described feature.
Whist I can understand not adding new core features into older content, what is the point of DTG advertising core features for a new iteration of TSW if said core feature isn't going to be added to all new releases like the 145?
I'd imagine porting the suspension model from the 313 to the 314 is doable, as for LIRR I have no idea why that wasn't done yet unless they're saving it until Stamford comes out so they can do the M3, M7, M8 and M9 all at once.
That would be nice if it happens. Agreed re the 313 to the 314. Still don't understand why CCL 323 hasn't had suspension, surely it is the same as the training centre one.
