Although a stretch but in addition to the narrow-gauge railway, then potentially as DLC the Arlesdale and Culdee Fell railways.
theyve collaborated with the Tallylyn railway to scan the map, a Tallylyn railway dlc for TSW and recolour the engines for Wonders Of Sodor would be a good way for DTG to recycle assets and make bigger profits
That would be a very smart way to double dip, they could finish the lower detail loco models and pump out the WoS release quicker, using its simplified controls, to start bringing in money from it, while then having another team put in more development time on realistic physics and detailing for a TSW Tallylyn release. Definitely would make for a financially sound business plan.
I believe you misunderstood the previous post - DTG collaborated with them in order to get the WoS Sodor map. Because they could not use real world topography for the height maps as they would for most TSW routes, due to it being fictional, DTG instead ensured its accuracy by visiting them and making a 3D scan of the original three dimensional Sodor map displayed on the wall of the recreation of Awdry's study at their museum.
Someone was already working on the Tallylyn railway on the public editor they'd kept a great record of it. Definitely worth a look on the editor forums under TSW
Henry ought to be an easy DLC, and Edward makes sense to bring services on his branchline. I fully expect both of them to be early DLCs given recognition of the characters. I'd expect there are already plans to eventually deliver the rest of the main eight characters.
A stub of a narrow gauge line from Crovans gate is included and if you follow it to the end there’s a book there too
I wonder considering we're going for a mix of Railway Series and TV Series Sodor, if the Skarloey Slate Quarry will be around or if it will be closed off with a reference to the Ministry of Defence. Probably the former.
Nice nod to continuity but given how much classic stuff is in the game I'd rather it still be open. Adds more variety and useful for plot points like Peter Sam's funnel incident. Fingers crossed, anyway, but I'd not be against Blue Mountain Quarry also featuring if they wanted to do both.
Another thing, I wonder if any of the assets will be replaced in the future. The platforms on the narrow gauge side of Crovan's Gate are too high, Duncan's passengers would have to crawl into the carriages.
I've noted the same. Along with track placement against the platform on the narrow gauge side is too far out. The handles for changing the points are non functional and the track placement into the narrow gauge sheds is off centre and squed to one side. When I noticed all this it dashed my hopes of the narrow gauge line being added as alot of existing placeholders will heve to be rebuilt or replaced.
