why have recent Train Sim World 6 add-ons (examples: WCML Birmingham - Crewe, Stuttgart - Helibronn, Avanti Class 805 and more) been gen 9 console exclusive? when the whole Train Sim World 6 (including the core routes and deluxe locos) is on gen 8 consoles????

 

why hasn't there been any more London underground lines in the TSW franchise for a long time???

and why are train sim world DLCs so overpriced???, like seriously back in TSW5 I got the Zwolle - Groningen Route and WCML Preston - Carisle Route both for £32.99 and now the BR 145 loco add-on is £29.99!!!!

Now with remasters also on the plate, how does DTG manage Route DLCs, Loco DLCs, Core Game Updates, etc. along with remasters? Will that have any hinderance amongst one another? Can resources/ tools, etc. be shared across in order to push out more high quality DLCs/ Remasters more effectively?

And would you'll be pushing out remasters for other old routes eventually? Is there a plan or a target for how many remasters vis- a- vis DLCs you'll would be pushing out per year?

With the community demonstrating that route merges are possible, what are the chances of some of the more frequently requested merges/extensions being progressed?

When are the numerous passenger issues going to be sorted and why have specific questions about passengers walking in front of trains on the new Czech route been ignored, despite specific pings to Matt and Harry?

What is really being done to address the ever increasing mountain of tech debt and content issues? Does anyone from DTG other than the odd CM go through the Feedback and Troubleshooting forums in detail including historical issues never fixed (like the Class 380 fierce brakes as one example).

Why are you sitting on 3P patches and fixes for months giving the false impression the external developer is at fault?

Where are we with improvements to the Save Game? The SimRail Alpha save is now in a better state than TSW!

Agree and reaffirm the question above about pricing. We are now seeing AAA prices in particular for routes which are not always that good. What is being done to manage costs without compromising quality any further? Also, why are there no longer any pre release purchase incentives - again SimRail had an excellent deal with 10% off on the Lodz Jn and Impuls 2 EMU for the initial release period and even more savings via a bundle.

Is TSW7 a reality this year or will the annual update take a different format?

When is the PIS patch (see issue) coming? How does this happen in the first place?

 

Will there be any improvements to the passenger system? Is it not possible to program it so that the train fully empties at terminating stations and then starts to fill up at the start of a service?

 

More and more simulation games now support DLSS, and since NVIDIA open-sourced the Streamline SDK last year, DLSS 3/4 support has become achievable through it (for instance, Wuthering Waves, based on UE4.26, implemented DLSS 4 via Streamline). I also reviewed earlier forum posts by others, including Matt's responses, but after all these years there has been no progress whatsoever. I really want to know what technical difficulties are currently blocking DLSS support for TSW?

Also, the in-game Scenario Editor and Livery Editor haven't seen major updates for a long time. When can we expect further improvements, such as allowing SVG images to be imported from external sources? And could the path controls in the Scenario Editor be made less restrictive?

 

How is this strike force from the last roadmap shaping up?

 

1. For the NY-Stamford route, will we see LIRR and NJT layers. Perhaps runs from Penn Station to Sunnyside yard for NJT and runs from LIRR for Penn Station to Woodside? Will Metro North M7A and M3A also layer in, and if so, where will their services start and end for the Harlem and Hudson line sections of the route?

2. For the NY-Stamford route, can we eventually expect a surprise of the diesel equipment (Shoreliner coaches and P32AC-DM & or SC42-DM). Hopefully this will allow for a Harlem line remaster to eventually arrive

3. ETA on MBTA F40PH-3C very bright headlight fix for the Boston to Worcester route. It's hard to see what is ahead of the train, especially during nighttime foggy conditions even if I bring the headlights down to dim. A modder released a mod to fix this issue but will DTG officially fix this so everyone can enjoy

4. Will announcements be improved for the Morristown route?

5. Possibilities/future for Northeast USA routes in the future, along with freight routes?

 

Suspension physics have significantly enhanced the immersion of newer routes. Trains on older routes lacking suspension physics feel disjointed, as if they’re firmly attached to the tracks. Suspension physics have become as crucial to me as TOD4 lightning. Just as I avoid routes without TOD4, I’ve also stopped playing routes without suspension physics. It’s unfortunate, as most routes that have TOD4 but no suspension physics don’t warrant a remaster. Could you please implement suspension physics on all routes that received a TOD4 treatment? I wanna see more trains do the bouncy bouncy!

 

Will we see upcoming fixes/patches to the recent remasters such as GWE and ECW following the lengthy amount of feedback given by the community in the forum feedback threads and fixing various issues/bugs?

 

When will the E94 DLC patch release? It's been 9 months now since it was submitted by TSG. You can't tell me it's faster to concieve, carry and birth a human being than to do QA on a small patch that was promised to be released half a year ago. I also don't believe there's much to test with it since it only affects one DLC and one timetable. It substitutes nowhere, there's no risk of "cross-contermination", it can't be that big of an issue to hand it to someone who's got two days of time tops to assess the quality and with a heavily decreased update cycle it can't be that no slots are available, since there must be even more slots available to push updates when they're less frequent like they're nowadays.

 

I would like to hear about the progress of the Medway line. For now I’m standing back on the Czech DLC waiting for the British ones. Later on, on a sale, I’ll buy Stara Paka.

 

When will we finally get the E94 DLC patch, which DTG received from TSG about 9 months ago?

When will DTG finally start fixing or updating the passengers? It can't be right that you drive into the depot with a fully loaded train.
And it's also unacceptable that passengers jump in front of the train. DTG seems to have no idea what damage this can cause.

When will it finally be possible to choose in the Formation Editor whether the carriages are loaded or unloaded?

When will there be a small update for the PIS defect that DTG caused on all routes and trains with an update?
A modder managed to build a temporary mod that solves the problem in just a few days.

 

Why do you release add-ons that don't have the features that should be required from TSW4 onwards?
DB BR 145 and some of the rolling stock on the Czech Republic line are not equipped with active suspension.
What is this?
A downgrade?

 

Why hasn't Class 390 had any announcements yet?

Could it be because of the launch of Trent Valley, to take advantage of the opportunity and make the necessary adjustments all at once?

 

The most annoying thing is that the same German content is filled with minor bugs that they are in no hurry to fix.
1. BR 193 Vectron DB - incorrect point calculation for safety systems. Requires ATB to be enabled on German routes and PZB on Dutch routes. This results in 35 points and an inability to complete the service for a platinum medal. It doesn't interfere with playing on it in any way, but the bug has been around for a year now and it's annoying.
2. BR194. The scoring in services is broken. It shows 0 points everywhere. It's still playable, but another minor bug is annoying.
3. Some services on BR294 on the Dresden-Leipzig route end in a SPAD at the start. Yes, this can be circumvented using the free room mode, but why it can't be fixed remains a mystery.
4. Everything is broken in the Dresden Leipzig journey mode in the BR363 chapter. Yes, it seems like it can be completed through the timetable mode. But back to the previous question: is it really that hard to fix?
I listed the first things that came to mind.
Can we expect any comments on these already "elderly" problems?

Will the Creator Club ever receive improvements one day?

For example: an improved search and tagging system in the CC, choose which liveries you want to display or not on a route and the percentage to display, a new copy-paste system in creation livery which allows you to copy a created logo, for example, and paste it onto another livery (to avoid having to redo it) , or even be able to publish logos on CC

 

Are there any imminent fixes to the (very broken) core PIS system? PIS is not working on playable and AI trains

 

Are Japanese passengers coming with Tadami? The recent roadmap screenshots still show the standard westerners on platforms.

 

Not much information on the roadmap regarding patches and updates. There was mention that they coming but not anytime soon.

 

- What's the timeline for finally getting blurry textures (plus video memory errors) sorted to a reasonable standard?
- When will the 805 timetable for WCML South be fixed as many services unplayable due to video memory errors? Additionally, the Stuttgart route also suffers from video memory errors, when is this going to be looked at?
- Are any more route remasters on the cards? Without doubt, both German and American routes really need them...
- What's the current number of third-party devs now part of TSW?

No real news to it, but it was mentioned.

 

So, what actually happened with the early release of the SEHS improvements? Did JD press the wrong button again?

 

How does the lack of optimisation in regards to memory usage on consoles and blurry textures affect patches to just released or upcoming content?

Usually we got a "first patch" that devs talk about in showcase/preview livestreams one or two weeks after the release of the DLC in question.

Now it seems nothing is being released since it's not optimised to the new standards which aren't even finalised but an ongoing endeavour by 3P teams such as FireFly, who are doing a maginifcent job by the way.

Examples:
So Stuttgart is said to get some updates, but I don't believe Stuttgart has been optimised for consoles yet.

Tomorrow Liberec - Stara Paka will release. It looks breathtaking. But is it optimised already? When will the first patch be released for that?

Same with the BR 145 Expert on friday. I know the loco has been built differently than the 101 Expert and uses less space.
But is it optimised to non-finalised standards so we won't have to wait another year just to get a fixed horn audio for example?

So my biggest question would be:
How much is this whole optimisation process setting back quality of life/day one patches for TSW6 DLC? Until TSW7?

I've already allocated my monthly steam wallet for the DLC i want to get. But from reading this roadmap I get the feeling that I'd buy two DLC this week which, as said by the devs on livestreams need and will get some fixes in their first update, but won't get said updates and have to live with (slightly) imperfect products until god knows when. The E94 was a TSW5 DLC. It got a minor patch during that iteration with the promise of a bigger one that actually fixes issues mentioned in the respective feedback thread to be released with the first 3P update batch of TSW6. To my knowledge such labelled batch never existed, we're still waiting and I'm getting the feeling that the E94 DLC isn't optimised either, so it may be released with TSW7. Or at least promised again to be released first thing after the new iteration of the game releases.

By the way I've spent a total of an hour or so in TSW over the last weekend, but 10+ hours in SimRail. Those could've been spent in TSW. But the state of the game, even on PC right now, with PIS core errors etc. and lack of updates discourage me from starting up my actual favourite game TSW at the moment. I am still looking forward to new TSW content, especially the continental european DLC, but I'm discouraged to buy UK and North American content, with the exception of Medway Line since that one's gotta be the first actually optimised route from the start, which I actually appreciate and sincerely enjoy since I can broaden my horizon and travel the world in pandemic mode, so to speak, but I'm not willing to ballast myself and my hard drive with "nice to have" content that won't get the usual quality of life fixes in a timely manner. From a higher initial count of future "day one" items on the roadmap, I've reduced my actual day one purchase intentions to just the continental european content.

I want to buy more and can afford to, but I'm getting turned off more and more.

That shouldn't be the case Dovetail, it really shouldn't be.

All that being said:
Maybe we could have an insight into the QA process. Maybe a segment "A day in the life of a quality assessor at Dovetail Games" or something along the line?

To keep things constructive afterall, is there something we, the community, can do to help out with that? Do you need more beta testers, volunteers with localisation and so on? People from all over the world who love and play this game would be happy to lend a hand if it meant an end to the current state of the game for everybody.

Когда When will the various branch lines on the routes be used more fully? Let me give you an example: Stuttgart-Heilbronn. There are a bunch of branch lines to the steel mill, the power plant, and other businesses. They're simulated, accessible, but not used. There are exactly 0 services going there or back. And so it is on many routes. Is it company policy that we don't require shunting and short trips? Players aren't interested?

 

Will Firefly’s 375 improvements (sparks, new sounds, new GSMR) be back ported onto the 377 and 387?

 

Why do patches keep being released prematurely, but actual patches from third parties are sat on for ages.
The premature SEHS patch or the patch about 390 announcements (that since got cancelled...?)

But then stuff like the 158 timetable on FCL we had to wait months for.

 

Can other third parties use the expert coupling feature from the BR 145 if they want, or is it limited to TSG?

Will the ICE from Nürnberg - Ingolstadt get guard mode?

 

Is there any way DTG is looking at improving the QA testing processes as new development and content is great. But it seems from the outside that there is a massive backlog in new content and fixes held up for QA as we've heard things are being submitted a long time ago.

Will the BR 423 that's to be included with the Stuttgart update have working windshield wipers?
I seem to recall not properly working wipers on the S-Bahn Frankfurt version which was used for a fantastic community mod that brought the PC players a Stuttgart version already.

 

With Medway line, you noted some improvements are trialled on that route. What things are you thinking of bringing over from their route optimisation.

Unsure how the route hopping to 1986 will do, perhaps its a time warp. Noting All Aboard Studio working with Just Trains on route hopping to Crewe to Preston, plus others such as Cross City at Lichfield Trent Valley, Milton Keynes & Euston, for a seamingless route.

Didn't mention Crewe to Liverpool though.

While I love the poster collecting, they are now more posters for German and UK routes in the game that they take up three rows in the mastery achievements screen. Problem is you can't scroll on the UI at the moment and soon they will take up 4 rows.

Any plans on updating the UI for the mastery achievements poster screens?
