I keep an eye on both daily, and I've noticed since before the holidays that the posts just aren't as prominent here as they are on Discord. I think it's just the instant messaging properties of Discord versus Forums, though. Either way, all the socials saw a decrease in traffic during the holidays (keep in mind the forums I include in "social Media")

I also will say, we aren't doing a roadmap until February, so we don't have a lot to post as staff. Most folks, including our 3rd party teams, are just getting back in from the holidays. (Today is technically a holiday in the US, too).

This is exactly why I’m switching over to Run 8. U.S content has been dead for a while now.

Nope, it was someone else who put out that one (don't remember who now), and Vern just picked up on it.

I don't think TSW will end anytime soon. We should definitely have alot of announcements and updates in February regarding TSW6. I really want to hear what the status is on performance improvements. I also am wondering what is the future looking like for northeast US content after we get NY-Stamford, or actually, US content in general

Honestly, I don't remember either. I just found it funny, but it wasn't Vern, he was just the most vocal.

Completely understand and we’re all on the same page and want the game to improve and bugs to be fixed.

Also thank you for the civil back and forth. I get worried around here sometimes because I’ve seen other threads go completely downhill with name calling and other childish things. I don’t get it since we’re all adults and clearly have a passion for train simming and even with frustrations about things not being fixed, we all just want it to be the best game possible.

So this has restored my hope that maybe we can have civil conversations about our silly little hobby after all! :)

All water under the bridge… Glad you are alive and kicking and hope you are getting over your nasty bout of pneumonia.

I like to say the glass is double in height than it needs to be for it to count as full ;)

You're good! I'm doing a ton better, just playing a lot of catch-up.

I had Run 8 years ago, then left it for some flight simming for almost 2 decades. Recently, I purchased TSW 6, ran that for a couple of months, then spent almost $200 on Run 8 and some DLC, to see if it had improved over what it had been decades ago. I learned to run the trains properly in Run 8, got a few routes, ran the routes and after awhile, got bored with 25 year old scenery. Tried doing some industries and found I had zero interest in shuffling around freight cars. Now I am back on TSW6, purchased many routes, and love it. Haven't touched Run 8 in months.

Main problem with Run 8, aside from the dated appearance, for me remains their bonkers e-commerce system buying one item at at time (which incurs bank charges from outside the USA as they don’t support PayPal or WorldPay), no player account to keep track of your purchases. Oh plus the lack of security certification on many of their files so Windows throws a wobbly when you try and download and install, also all the older stuff is still in V2 format so after installing you need to run the original V3 installer then the updater to get it to take. I never got round to buying the last SoCal extension either.

Don’t misunderstand, I love Run 8 and it’s a credit to what a small team can produce but like you I haven’t touched it in months. I even at one stage downloaded the Industry files from the Depot along with one of the “Very Populated SoCal” sessions but realised it could take years to sort out all that traffic.
