Time to experience the highest depth of simulation that Train Sim World can offer, with the Expert DB BR 145, now released on Xbox Series S/X, PS5, Steam and Epic Games! Expert DB BR 145 Summary Developed by the TSG team, with a home route of Bahnstrecke Leipzig - Dresden, the Expert BR 145 has implemented a number of 'Expert' features that go into a complex level of detail not seen in other locomotives and trains in Train Sim World. These features are focussed on providing an intimately complex experience for the most hardened TSW players and can be disabled in the Main Menu (Expert Mode -> Off) for a more typical level of interaction in the cab. They include: Fully modelled and interactive Machine Room Full Bremsgerüst Interactive Fuses Fault Simulation GSM-R simulation, down to individual cell towers But that's not all! With the BR 145, TSG will also be keeping your busy outside the locomotive with Expert Coupling! Climb between the loco and wagons, pick up the chain and hook it up yourself - don’t forget to connect the brake pipes! Thermal simulation also affects the exterior; you may have to unfreeze the brakes in the cold by 'hammering' them or stop the locomotive and fix overheating. These elements are visual and can be seen in effect. External fuses are also now simulated. It will be possible to encounter stuck brakes, which will begin to overheat. There is also a chance that you will pass a hot axle detector and the responsible signaller will call you to advise you of this. Be careful! Certain wagons do not respond well to quickly applying and releasing brakes, which might trigger these issues. For accurate freight train simulation, TSG have implemented an automatic Bremszettel in the cab, with all the needed information on length/wagon weight to calculate the PZB data more easily. This means that you don’t need to calculate or obtain the information beforehand. Via the table (shown above) you can find your train's maximum speed, brake percentage required and even the different brake modes for each wagon type. The 'Einstelltabelle' on the cab's back wall will help you enter the correct values. This is especially helpful if you encounter any broken wagons. When spawning consists in timetable mode with Expert Mode enabled in the Settings, you will now have a chance for broken wagons to spawn and for varied brake performance throughout the train. During development, audio was recorded from a real BR 145 locomotive and the respective freight wagons. In this Add-on, the BR 145 features not only the standard Deutsche Bahn livery, but RBH blue as well - a new freight brand for Train Sim World. The 'NV' variant of DB BR 145 is also included representing their limited use as passenger locomotives and this variant includes a highly detailed FT95 PIS System plus changes to the cab and machine room. Rolling Stock: New T3000e container flats Brand new T3000e container flats are also included in this Add-on, alongside Expert-upgraded versions of existing and commonplace wagons; the Zacns, Habbiins and Sggmrss 90. Fault Finding Like the Expert DB BR 101, the fault-finding aspect to this release is fully simulated. This is different to the Train Sim World 6 core feature of 'Train Faults' and presents instead a number of complex faults to be diagnosed and remedied using the interactive in-cab screens and fuses / breakers. This includes various faults, from harmless to serious, and for the first time these pages have been translated to English for ease of use. A series of Scenarios and Tutorials will be able to guide the player through the fault-finding process. Expert DB BR 145 Manual To get you started with learning the new Expert-level detailsbefore embarking on services, the TSG team have created the Expert DB BR 145 Manual, readable online or to download as a PDF, as an in-depth exploration of the loco and all the included features. Be sure to also check out our Bahnstrecke Leipzig - Dresden Gameplay Guide to discover key details for the core German route in Train Sim World 6 that the Expert DB BR 145 will support. Expert DB BR 145 Gameplay A total of 5 Tutorials and 4 Scenarios are included on an advanced level, with the Scenarios requiring the Bahnstrecke Leipzig - Dresden route Add-on from Train Sim World 6. The Tutorials are detailed, with some unique interactive elements and guide players of all abilities through the complex sequence of events required to operate the Expert level locomotive. The locomotive will substitute into any appropriate freight service on route across the Train Sim World catalogue, similar to other freight locomotives in the game. Players will also be able to utilise the locomotive on any route Add-on in Free Roam. Additional Improvements to the Expert 101 Alongside the release of the Expert 145, we've also shared supporting updates for the Expert DB BR 101, and Bahnstrecke Leipzig - Dresden. A summary of changes can be noted below for reference, and you may see updates to these Add-ons if you have them installed. Functionality & Simulation Fixed BrakeCutout forcing the vehicle to cutout the brake rather than random as with PbZ. Made the distributor release valve open with the above mentioned brake cutout to release all brakes on affected coaches. Wiper should now be more in sync with the window effect. Fixed mismatch between MFA and MFD variant of the BR 101 in terms of current speed. The MFD loco now displays the same speed reading as the analog indicator and the HUD speedometer. Changed target/current effort and target speed parameters on the MFD to avoid magnetic overshoots Ensured multitraction between paired 101s works as expected and that the locos do not only detect each other in a ‘battery off’ state Reworked ZDE scroll wheel modulo logic to fix issue where core rotational lever would sometimes yield unexpected output (prevents BRH or VMZ from sometimes skipping a step and LED disagreeing with white text). Changed direct brake cutout logic to fix an issue where ‘dead in train’ locos were not releasing brake cylinders Passenger Coaches Fixed AI coach door logic to ensure AI trains do not get stuck in changing door state Gameplay Fixed an issue with the 101 Expert Tutorial preventing the player completing the scenario Join us in the Community! How did Steam manage to get this DLC out in the morning (UK time) but all other DLC has been released at 6pm local time? DTG Harry
This was done since it's a Friday release, something we usually tend to avoid. To maximise our support time before the weekend we decided on a 10 am UTC release on Steam. However, that comes with the risk of Valve not being available in case of an emergency. So today was more of an exception to the rule, rather than a wider change.
No realistic suspension. This feature isn't mentioned in the add-on specifications. Thanks for your honesty (AND I'M NOT BEING IRONY). I hope it will be enabled later and I will purchase this locomotive. Greetings, especially to my "friend" Capricorn and those of his race.
What a great loco! Even drove the 145 NV on HRR and it had announcements like "Nächste Station Essen HBF Duisburg HBF." Unfortunately, some announcements are still missing, so I hope we'll get them! But by far, this is one of the best DLCs next to Expert 101!
@dtg_jan You’ve already explained above why the DLC was released on Steam at 10:00 am today. But why would it be a problem to set the release time for all future DLCs to 10:00 am, especially on Steam? Because I reckon a lot of users would be pleased if we could get the DLCs on Steam at 10:00 am as well.
I answered your question in the reply you quoted. Valve is located in Seattle, on the US West Coast. The eight hour time difference means that they would not be available to give us any immediate support in case of an unforeseen emergency. While we have a direct connection to Valve's support, they still need to be in the office to help us. Today's earlier release was a compromise to ensure we can monitor feedback, something we would have very little time for at 6 pm UTC. We understand the desire to access new content as soon as possible, but from our own experience, we would rather not risk having to wait eight hours before Valve is available to support. Today was such a risk. Thankfully, the release went smoothly, but if it hadn't, timings would've been extremely awkward. This was the best compromise for this specific situation. At the moment we have no plans to change our normal release schedule.
Just opened the game and am getting an auto download. I expect these are the long-awaited TSG patches for the Expert 110 and the E 94?
@solicitr Today’s update was for the Dresden–Leipzig route. The other updates were released on 10 March 2026, when the BR 101 Expert and the Gameplay Pack were updated.
Both in real life and in the game it is primarily a freight loco from what I've gathered. On another note, has anyone else had trouble with the AI taking over their trains? It happened to me both when I changed cab and right after I finished the last coupling before starting the next service.
Hey, Have there been changes to the Leipzig-Dresden timetable other than the IC consists? And as the 145 can be selected for other consists too, does this also apply for the new freight waggons? Do they substitute into existing consists? Love the idea of the Bremszettel and the ongoing support for the Expert locos. Looking forward to getting this one too - hopefully with the sorting of the blur on the horizon soon.
So I was to purchase this . 1 is more complicated then the 101. 2 does give the 101 expert its own timetable on leipzig dresden route or any others. Thanks.
The E94 update is said to be released next week with the core update batch according to DTGJan. Until that one's released, don't expect any changes to anything other than the Expert 101 and Dresden - Leipzig.
In reality, it doesn't make much of a difference. Many people are at work at this time anyway and can't access the new DLC. The only advantage is that if you leave your computer on, you can purchase the DLC through the mobile app. And set it to download so that when you get home you can use it right away.
The price is.....I dont know, its too high IMO! However, is it possible to use it as sub on other routes 146 services?
Yes, but I believe that is unintentional. It can be used on these routes for passenger transport. MainSpessart Bahn Rhein Ruhr Osten Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr München-Augsburg And Köln-Aachen (Original Timetable) This is every Route where the Original BR 146 from Main Spessart Bahn activates a Layer so I assume you need this Route to play this Services
