    Hello folks,

This is the official master feedback thread for the Expert BR 145 Loco AddOn.

This thread will stay locked until the AddOn releases at 10 am UTC.

Please keep all discussions only related to feedback, and provide the game platform you are using in any comments for feedback. Thank you!

This is an expert-level locomotive, so operating it correctly requires following specific procedures. In some cases, what might appear to be a bug can actually be expected behaviour from the fault simulation system or a step that was missed during setup.

TSG have provided a detailed manual that explains how to set up the train and how to diagnose and resolve common faults. Taking a moment to check the manual before posting here can help clarify whether something is working as intended and ensure any reports here are as accurate as possible.
Be sure to also check out our Bahnstrecke Leipzig - Dresden Gameplay Guide to discover key details for the core German route in Train Sim World 6 that the Expert DB BR 145 will support.

When providing feedback, please always add the following details if possible:
    • Platform (i.e.: PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One)
    • Service/Scenario played when the issue occurred.
    • Repeatability. How often does this issue occur?
    • Images/Videos of the issue occurring.
As always, thank you for your feedback.

    All the best,
    Jan

I'm already fumbling with it, and so far I can only quote Darth Vader:
    Impressive. Most impressive.

Looks like a very well made loco, and the level of simulation puts the Expert 101 to shame :D

So far the only issue I found is a typo: The handwritten line at the bottom of the Bremszettel says Fahrplangeschwidigkeit instead of Fahrplangeschwindigkeit ;)

    And one nitpick:
Shouldn't the papers been fixated by some of these three black clamps, so they won't move around when driving?

The tutorials are really well done. Absolutely amazed by the locomotive. Having the option to have the left screen translated to english is also a great addition.

I vaguely remember reading something about this already being addressed; if not, I'd like to mention it again. When you fly the Camera around the Train, you can't hear the Sifa.

Otherwise, a great DLC. Xbox Series X

Alr fixed. I did a small oopsy woopsy and forgot to pop one of the the internal soundmixes when switching to external cam which muted alerts.

Channel limit sadly. Thank gen8 hardware limitations that this game is set to 32 concurrent sounds max.

When i'm preparing service for Expert. Simply Deliverd and get to the ZDE data i'm confused.
You have to use 120 for VMZ

    Glad you are enjoying it!
You are correct about the clamps, this is actually how I set it up in the beginning but it was tricky to make all the buttons accessible (for example on the top margin of the Wagenliste is a button to flip the page if the formation is longer than what can fit on a single page) and since the Bremszettel is smaller than the Wagenliste it looked a bit weird. I may have given up too quickly, we'll see :)

That is a bug with the scenario. The train was changed mid way through development and we missed updating all the instructions (there are basically 2 separate sets of instructions/objectives - the text in the top corner and the actual hitbox circles). This will be fixed in the upcoming patch :)

EDIT: If you want to use the real data you can trust the Bremszettel sheet, follow the instructions first then input the correct data after. The value for "BRA" should be 4. The value for BRH can be obtained by taking the value in row 5, column 6 and then finding the row on the conversion table behind the drivers seat and inputting that (080). The ZL will be the total train length rounded up to nearest 10 meters (470 m i.e. 47). Lastly the VMZ is 100.

How did you test this DLC before release? Half of the services start with a SPAD, making them unplayable. In the Expert timetable, the 101 gets stuck again and doesn’t close the doors, so a lot of services can’t be completed. Overall, it would be very good and I would like it, but with half or more than half of the services not being playable to the end, that’s a problem. The fact that the MFA is translated into English is a huge positive. The sounds are good, and the model is also perfect. The brake system and coupling mechanism are also very well designed. For now, I don’t recommend it to anyone, only after the bugs have been fixed.

You're right, the way it is now is a good compromise :)
Those two sheets in themselves are quite literally a game changer, I love them

Which services exactly did you try? I tried 3 so far, and all of them worked just fine.

One of them was 43821, where the 101 broke down and blocked the entire route. The other was S1, but I don’t know exactly which one; however, from what I’ve seen, everyone seems to have this problem.
Another thing I noticed is that in external view, the Sifa has no sound, and the PZB doesn’t either.
Also, I tried it with the Bnrdzf cab car, but it doesn’t see to work. I tried it in both modes, so I’m not sure whether it is actually compatible with it in real life. If I drive without AFB and start with 100% throttle, the loco stops applying traction at 80 km/h. Why does this happen? Does anyone know?

So er... how do we use this loco? The first three services I've tried on Dresden - Leipzig start with a SPAD.

Is this traction lock behaviour correct? Feels not normal to me, even goes down to 0 bar. For other traction issues the MFD also usally gives a warning/info, but not for this case.

Wow.....definitely the best loco we have in the game! Sounds are superb, gameplay is excellent, however it's not perfect. After driving for about 20 minutes on an S1 service, the sounds for brake levers etc just don't make any sound, really annoying!
Also wish the laeers got updated too to expert fidelity, as they make up around half the services that require coupling, but said coupling is not 100% expert because they weren't updated. Maybe for the next Expert freight package!

But a solid 9.5/10, huge props to TSG for this masterpiece and will be playing it alot! :D

You should be careful when applying power right after releasing the electric brake. Instead you should use the direct brake to hold your train at a stop, so right after you release that brake and apply power, the traction motors actually respond.
This is how I drive, however can be corrected if I'm wrong.

The “Expert” BR 101 dlc may have sold well, especially on discount, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the best purchase for many, especially considering it is the big 2026 and it still has “no services”…

the fact DTG and/or TSG thought was a good idea to release the “Expert” BR 145 at the same price, only on one route with a dead mainline with almost no ai traffic, is wild to me.

I don’t know if they realize that the example from the “expert” 101 is terrible. I am enjoying my “expert” 101 like many, but it’s still not worth the price off a full route and I wouldn’t rebuy it if not 40% discounted or more. So I’m definitely not buying this castrated 145 pack at the current state if not discounted, at least, 50-60%…

Pls stop pretending to get offended for nothing, you should know that the value proposition of the product is terrible…

And, please, next time you showcase a loco on a stream, pick timetables by loco and not by route, so people can immediately see on which routes the loco is playable on, thank you!

wanted to get it this month, but then we got a shipment full of great books (I work at a bookstore, so I am literally among the first ones to see what we got) and most of my free money went down the drain :D (Berserk Deluxe 1, 2 WH40 omnibuses, brand new Brandon Sanderson novel :D ) ... so, I will get it, eventually :D ... just to support this kind of content, even though I am not much into freight

Do you remember which services caused the SPAD? We have a big patch to the timetable in the works (releasing with the post release patch) that has fixed several AI SPAD issues that were unfortunately discovered after the final pre-release deadline, but if you can tell me the numbers I can double check that I didn't miss anything :)

Could you clarify what you mean by the doors getting stuck on the BR 101?
    1. Does this affect other (AI) trains with the BR 101 or only your player train?
    2. If it was a player train, do you have the Virtual Conductor feature enabled (if so that will close the doors automatically but leave one door open for the conductor to check that the train is safe to depart, this is intended and the conductor will close the door as the green circle Zp9 indicator becomes visible.

The Wittenberger (483.0) cab car was working with the BR 145 Expert during development, I'm not sure if a recent change to the 483.0 broke the compatibility with the BR 145 Expert or if it was a change with the BR 145 Expert (though it works with the Dosto cab cars so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work with the Wittenberger). It is on my list to investigate and fix so hopefully that should be in the first patch :)

As for the AFB stopping traction at km/h: is the "VSoll" bug moving to higher speeds than 80 km/h when you move the lever? If not, that might mean that you input VMZ = 80 km/h in the ZDE or that the timetable service limits the speed to 80 km/h (only applicable when Expert Mode is disabled and you can always change the train data to increase the VMZ if this is the case).

Same question as for Bence: do you remember which services this happened on?

Yes that is prototypical. The BR 145 locks traction until the brake cylinder pressure drops below ~ 0.2 bar (from the indirect/train brake). You can still apply traction with the direct brake applied, but you need to wait for the train brake to fully release on the locomotive before traction is available. Also do note that going from electric braking straight to traction may cause the ASG to malfunction (you need to wait until the electric brake effort goes to zero before applying throttle). This "bug" is prototypical but can be solved by simple performing the double throttle acknowledgement (going to 0 then "Min" then back to 0 twice). Note that the driver assist message has a bug currently where it will stay even when the issue is resolved, so ignore that for now. It has been fixed and will be in the first patch.

We are aware of the issue with lever sounds stopping after playing for an extended time, this is likely a sound channel limitation (TSW only supports 32 active sound channels or independent unique sounds simultaneously) but we might have found a fix for this already. Stay tuned :)

Yes I wish we had an Expert Laaers as well but we had to limit the number of wagons that were "Expertified". If players want I can change the "loco change" / coupling services to replace the Laaers with different types of Expert wagons? Laaers will still be present on other services regardless.

Not sure what you mean by anyone pretending to be offended? I sure haven't done that :)
As for your question: the BR 145 substitutes all freight services where standard BR 185's can substitute in the game. There is a list of the exact number of routes this applies in the manual (as well as in the BR 145 Q/A thread), I don't have the full list at the moment but essentially it's all German routes with electrification that aren't set in the late 90s or 2000s (i.e. not Linke Rheinstrecke or Stuttgart-Heilbronn).

I'm happy with the realistic freight schedule (I hope!) that we have now, but maybe update the Laaers for another Expert freight package. :)
However I do want regional stuff to be tackled next, to make nearly every type of service "Expert".

So I was to purchase this .
1 is more complicated then the 101.

2 does give the 101 expert its own timetable on leipzig dresden route or any others.

    Thanks.

    1. It's a mixed bag. It is more complex in the sense that the coupling now is more realistic (requiring connecting hoses and opening valves) as well as if you drive with Expert Mode enabled there are freight wagon specific faults like Distributor valves becoming stuck either due to "poor" driving technique or randomly (random fault like the locomotive has) which can lead to brake pads overheating and requiring you to stop the train and cut out the brake on the affected wagons. But these features are mostly optional and if you drive without Expert Mode enabled they won't happen. However, we have more training modules this time, as well as scenarios that go through and explain every feature.

On the plus side the "Bremszettel" (brake sheet) and "Wagenliste" (wagon list) features makes calculating the train data a lot quicker than on the BR 101 Expert.

    2. The DLC comes with an Expert timetable on Leipzig-Dresden. This timetable uses the BR 101 Expert (including the cab car) for the IC layers :)
Also the S-bahn services allow substituting the BR143/146.2 for the BR145 (NV variant).

I'm afraid I didn't make a note this morning, but I just tried:
    EZ 45300 at 1259

    ...and got an immediate SPAD.

As a separate question - am I right in assuming that where the 145 subs in on other routes without a dedicated expert timetable, we should just be following the "taking over" checklist (V3)?

Just did the Nahverkehrs Scenario and for Platin you need 24,3k Points but you only get around 15k without speeding or anything. Nothing major just wanted to mention it. Anyone else had the problem?

    Wonderful addon!

only small issues i noticed for now:
    - after a while the 'SIFA' voice was getting muffled
    - the soft buttons don't light up in the dark (might be prototypical)
    upload_2026-3-14_17-7-47.png
    - service 60255 frankfurt fulda had immediate spad, disabling class 363 solves it

AI train, and it’s the same issue that was in theTSW 6 preview live stream, I think. Matt said it happened because there used to be a bug with the door locking, but it was fixed on the original timetable, and now it has appeared again in the Expert timetable. You can see on yt:
https://www.youtube.com/live/PCn8eSpxVNE?si=NM50J-ab4YppupFN&t=7674 It was the second 43821 timetable service, and the 101 bugged at Dresden-Neustadt.
Without AFB, everything that needs to be set is configured correctly, and as soon as I reach 80 km/h, the train cuts off traction. Here is my video about it:

    Expert Mode enabled or disabled?
I see. I would be very surprised if it was a genuine door lock logic (it would break the timetable simulation) but there is an issue with certain IC services arriving from Leipzig where they get blocked by a RB service that reserves the tracks crossing the path of the IC services, all the way before arriving Dresden Friedrichstadt. I have fixed (I think) all of these issues for the upcoming patch :)
In any case I will test the service you mentioned just to confirm it's not a door lock issue.

When the E Brake gets decoupled from the pneumatic brake, you can't couple them back again. It is quite frustrating, as the train won't brake well and pulling both levers separately takes precious time when approaching a stop

Forgot to answer this earlier. Yes that's correct about V3. Thank you for reporting the SPAD issue, I will get that fixed :)

I have fixed that bug earlier today so it will be in the upcoming patch :)
What I found when debugging the issue is that it primarily happens if you "spam" (quickly tap) the train brake lever into the "Quick Release" range. The other trigger condition (though correctible) is if you double tap the train brake button very quickly. Try to avoid this until the fix is released and hopefully you won't encounter the issue.

cwf.green Thank you for your insight. I really, really love the loco so far. I did tap the brake when that happened. I am glad that it is being patched. You made a great loco and I really appreciate the level of detail it provides. As a real train driver, this is as close to reality as a Loco Sim got so far. Thank you very much

DGS 42314. The service ends on tracks without overhead contact lines. It's a minor problem, as there's no continuation anyway, but why not arrange for the arrival to be on an adjacent track with overhead power?

Unfortunately that's my mistake. I wasn't aware that these tracks don't have electrification IRL (and it didn't show up as errors during the timetable simulation). I have moved the trains that used this track (and track 6) so it should be correct in the upcoming patch :)

At the start of 47302 (once you couple up to the wagons), there is missing catenery at Friedrichstadt, and it looks really bad....if that can be fixed or have the service moved so it becomes "playable" (in my books), it'd be much appreciated.

First of all, thanks for the work you've done.

But i think i have encountered a bug, or i have done something very wrong.

I drove the DGS (88894) 06:47 service on Frankfurt-Fulda (BR 101 Expert) on PC.
I stopped at Fulda Track 258, and upon departing I got an emergency brake due to an unacknowledged LZB transmission failure.
When I tried to move again, the brakes won't get released, even when I overloaded them to nearly 6 Bar. The direct brake also didn't fully disengage. As I quick released the brakes, the pressure went up to 7.3 Bar and then the direct brake discharged to 0 Bar. Then the train was able to move. But only as long, as i hold the brake in quick release. As i moved the brake lever back to the release position, the train started to brake again.

I've tried to reproduce this and think i found the cause:
I restarted the scenario, overcharged the brakes to 5.3 Bar and the train was moving without any braking noises. I then quick released the brakes for a few seconds, the HL pressure went up to 7.0 Bar, moved the brake lever back to release, the HL pressure went back to 5.6 Bar and the waggons started to brake.

Is this a bug, or did i mishandle the brakes?

The last 3 services I did on Köln-Aachen have all started with a fault as the train spawns. Easy enough to reset on the screen, but I don't know why it always starts with a fault.

It's a mishandling of the brakes.
You literally killed the distributor valves.

Do you remember what the faults were?
