American safety systems seem very random to me. Also, the speed indicated on the HUD is in very rare cases matching the restrictions on the safety systems. So it's always beeping the last bit of hope out of me...
If anybody knows a good tutorial how to learn driving without frustration on the tracks, I would really appreciate it.

 

Will you add the M8 trainset as a AI layer in the Harlem Line?

 

Because I like a more relaxed playstyle, and I don't like to be forced into a playstyle I don't like. It's fine safety systems are there, as long as they're optional.

PZB/LZB is optional. And to be fair, I never really got the hang of PZB. I'm glad I can turn it off. Also systems like Sifa, just annoying. Glad I can turn that off as well. I'd be curious to know how many people play without safety systems enabled. I don't know if DTG has any statistics on that.

Let people enjoy the game the way they like. As long as you're having fun, there's no wrong way to play the game.

For the M8, I understood, but what for the Amtrak equipment on the route?

Just done short job on original harlem line did that get an update cause it looks better then it did and the train was bouncy.

They said it’s due to needing to fix/update M8s braking. If they ran the livestream with the issue, everyone would come in here and complain that it’s not accurate and trash it. So they postpone for a few days until it’s fixed and people will come in here and trash it.

Shouldn't even set dates for livestreams and should wait to put them on the calendar until it’s guaranteed it’s ready to show because otherwise people are going to complain.

 

The problem is they’re setting dates for previews before they even have a verified working build to show. Wouldn’t be so bad if previews were just previews but we know by that point they’re wanting to release it.

This release is going to end up yet another victim of rushed releases for March.

 

Yes there would be much complaining on here if it had gone ahead and wasn't ready. So they cancel it because it's not ready and guess what happens. I can't take some of these posters seriously to be honest.

 

The M8 has the same regenerative braking system as the LIRR M7, so shouldn't be a major problem to fix. At least it was spotted before release. I expect it will be a fairly short delay.

 

the whole point is: if it wasn't properly ready, why did they set a date for the stream?

Maybe they were expecting it to be or maybe something happened at the last minute.

If they hadn't cancelled you would have got more complaints.

 

I wonder when the preview stream will be set for? on my end it currently shows 71 minutes, at 3:00pm EST according to YouTube

 

I’m sorry but it’s hilarious the number of people who seem to think that “guaranteed to have no issues at all” preview builds exists lol!

 

Exactly why I rarely play the reworked LIRR, the requirements are insidious for what is supposed to be a game - you get zero reaction time and immediately hit with a penalty brake application, unless you run in the speed band below the current warning level and lose time. UK and Germany I generally do turn them on, unless you can't detach from the vigilance/alerter which in the case of the Czech route apparently goes off at silly intervals. They could have modified it for gameplay purposes.

Anyhow the news that the stream and potentially release has been put back doesn't fill me with confidence. What sort of QA/testing is this stuff getting before being declared ready for release? Sounds like another botched/rushed product incoming, to me. And yes they definitely seem to be pushing hard to get as much content out as they can before the end of the financial year. Well I think the Czech route and Medway Valley will do to be going on with then sit back and wait for the JT route, TSG steam route and Transport Fever 3 to appear...

Something to bear in mind is that the license for MTA routes is obviously pretty strict and the safety system ( which, remember, includes the braking ) has to be spot on.

As I posted above, the M8 brakes physics are the same as the M7, so it's probably just a tweak. I'm not overly concerned and still looking forward to Stamford.

I do agree that DTG is stretching our budgets at the moment and, if the Medway, the 90, Stamford and something else comes along in short order, I'll have to sneak out to Walmart to top up my Steam wallet at some point.

Some of this stuff might have to wait for a sale.

 

No chance of that happening. People like to jump to the conclusions which suits them, whether the conclusions are based in fact is immaterial.

 

And people will still rush to buy it people never learn

 

Let me guess, when the automatic brake is applied on slippery tracks, the emergency braking comes from nowhere? And because of slipping the train becomes uncontrollable?
It's strange that this didn't prevent the LIRR M7 from being released.
What I wanted to say is: test a similar scenario on M8 and fix this bug on M7!

Well yes. We in North America are not exactly overwhelmed with route releases compared to UK/European players. Morristown is a distant 6 months ago.

Plus, given the provenances of the timetable and the signalling, the route looks very good.

We'll need to see the preview of course, but yes, American players are hungry for something new. We don't know when our next meal will be coming.

I've learned my lesson.
The Czech Republic route and the DB 145 (for which I had already loaded my Steam account) have serious fundamental flaws.
So I happily left them where they are.
Everything has a limit.

 

If it's by Adamovic, looking forward to it. As a former Trainz player, I have high hopes that whatever he decides to port from his catalogue from RRMods will do great, as long as if the physics and simulation alongside his locomotives are accurate (keep in mind Trainz does NOT have the greatest in-game physics whatsoever).

If it's by High Iron Simulations however...I think I'd rather starve.

This!! I get tired of some of the lame excuses fans come up with for this game sometimes.

 

If JT cancelled a stream because of an issue people would be rushing to pat them on the back. DTG do it and it's awful and if they had gone ahead and there would have been issues, it would have been awful.

 

In fairness, JT would probably not declare something gold for publication with a glaring issue still outstanding (although, that said, the still as yet unfixed offset Class 86 bogies and wheels says, hi!).

 

Yeah not sure it’s relevant, fair or even honest to say if JT did it then there would be no push back, particularly as JT don’t rush to release everything & DTG is currently falling over itself to get as much DLC out in March, as possible.

We’ve got what, 3(+?) releases from the last few weeks that either have features missing or are in need of updates & still the conveyer belt is in overtime.

Frankly I’d be praising DTG if they came out & said no DLC will release for a couple of months while they catch up with updates. Instead it’s the opposite where various updates that should have been out by now have been pushed back & instead it’s go go go on new content.

 

Have we actually had any updates and patches this year that wasn't for new content.

 

Not to mention the Thomas diversion which I think comes out today. Oh look, there’s a coincidence, stream for the new US TSW route suddenly gets moved from the day their new IP/cash cow is due to launch. Colour me cynical/grab my tinfoil hat!

One fewer bug to worry about at launch, in that case. I think we can all appreciate delays when it's something like this.

 

Please, show us on stream how the M8's auto-braking works in slippery conditions(like snow).

 

Please bring back the GP40-2 and the SW1000R as DLC's for this route

 

they could have just give us more information about the route itself, maybe a video or article would be better, while we wait for them to really announce when the livestream is going to happen.

 

they should look at the whole route as well, to see if there are any more bug that they need to fix before showing us the full package.

 

I really hope that won't be the case, or else it will be another huge let down for all of us especially the american fan who were really looking foward to this route including myself.
