I feel like there is alot missing from these update notes. So few patches as to what I thought there would be. Nevertheless still grateful we got something.
I would have thought the PIS bug would be top of the list. It is immersion breaking. I hope we aren't going to have to wait another month.
I honestly can't believe they haven't included a fix for the PIS issue. It's very visible and affecting many routes / locos. A Modder fixed it in a couple of days, why not an official fix?
Also the major announced Stuttgart - Heilbronn changes, that would mostly help console players with layering is missing in action too. So console guys got shafted double with this update, no blur improvements, and not even the announced changes from the roadmap stream. But we got the TSG updates out of QA jail after a year so its something.
Thought the ATS MAC signalling and track fix would be out by now, apparently ATS have sent this to DTG a while ago?
Don't hold out much hope for the PIS being fixed quickly, it took them from TSW5 in May last year until December with TSW6 to fix the objectives list not working when you would take over a new service in timetable mode
Yes, typical DTG. The modders has to fix DTG bugs for them. Have they even acknowledged the PIS bug or are they sticking their head in the sand as usual.
Bro I cannot even. They touched the Acela Express again and still the speed control is broken on console (applies full throttle regardless). That bug is documented a gazillion times in the forum and nobody seems to give a toss.
Didn't fix the scoring issues added to the DB BR 193 when it was updated for the Netherlands safety systems either.
Looks like most of the focus has been on releasing wonders of sodor rather than fixing alot of the issues disappointing set of patch notes
Adding mastery and collectibles for a route not even out yet, doesn’t really fit the category of bugfixes and QOL improvements. Where is a fix for the GWE Remastered save game issue (hard lock up during loading or two minutes into resuming the run)? Where are the more restrained brakes for the Class 380? Where are the fixes for the save game in general? Where are the fixes to stop us hitting passengers with our trains on numerous routes? Sorry to say, but this barely seems worthy of being regarded as a significant core update. A few tweaks plucked from the low hanging fruit but that’s about it.
The fact that this wasn't priority really frustrates me it's really immersion killing in my opinion, since that last update too the class 66 services are now missing from a lot of my dlc for some reason I ask in discord and got referred to console FAQ when I clearly mentioned Xbox for Pc.
Why all these questions? As annoying as it is, if it’s not in the changelog, then it’s simply not included. You can keep asking endlessly, but not everything can be fixed, so I’m afraid some things will never be resolved. DTG has been honest there will be fewer patches from their side for now, and you can also see in the changelog that almost everything is coming from third‑party development.
@fakenham It could still be months before we get this update from DTG. We received the BR 194 & E94 Railtour Pack update today, which was submitted to DTG around 9 to 10 months ago. So I wouldn’t expect it to arrive any time soon.
Why not? This is one of the most lightweight updates we have had. And why is your comment aimed at me when others have also been asking similar. I will be getting most paranoid in a minute!
I hate to be ungrateful about the things we are getting but this update barely fixes anything significant at all... Still no fix for the immersion killing PIS problem as mentioned by many many others, still no fix for the uncompletable journey mode for the core add-ons Leipzig-Dresden and BR 294, still some random American freight wagons that pop up in the main menu's profile section... and so on.
@jesper2805 And is that why it’s acceptable that DTG will never fix some of these bugs? Because we’re just the gullible buyers who buy TSW, so we can expect DTG to sort out their bugs. And just because DTG have said they won’t be able to fix that many bugs in the near future, are we supposed to just accept that as well? For example, DTG messed up the PIS issue with one of their updates, and now we’re supposed to wait x months again for them to fix it?
There were some fixes to the Dresden Leipzig route, which did not get any patchnotes. Many things I did not like on that route is fixed now, have you tried the Journey? Maybe it is fixed too.
They have clearly communicated that things will be quieter regarding patches for a while because of the issues with the consoles. This will remain the case for the time being. They need additional staff to properly solve the problem there. It seems like a sensible decision to me they really need to put more work into it.
Sorry, I’m not claiming anywhere that it’s acceptable, right? If it came across that way, then no it definitely isn’t!
Yeah I tried and unfortunately it's still not working. What fixes did you come across? I get that, but this can't be used as an excuse for accidentally breaking such a main feature in the game and not fixing it right away with the first next update.
Let’s be clear: I understand your frustration, but to reflect for a moment—the PIS bug, for example, isn’t a game‑breaker. It’s at most annoying for the immersive experience, but the game itself still functions properly. If you look honestly at the issues on the consoles, I think it’s a fair decision to address those first. Those are actual crashes and game‑breaking problems. Again, it’s not acceptable, but in my view this is a choice between two bad options, and they only have limited staff available. Something else worth mentioning is that the console issues are limiting TSW’s development. They can’t add anything new or make real improvements right now, so in the long run this decision is a win‑win for the whole game and all players. Look at the passenger issues those aren’t being addressed at the moment because everything is dictated by the console problems. Again, it’s annoying, but I think it’s a step in the right direction.
I’m also chiming in, wondering why the PIS issue has not been fixed yet. It should be priority number one considering it affects countless trains on all kinds of routes. It’s also apparently super easy to fix, judging by the community-made patch mod that was made super quickly. I’m still hopeful it will be resolved very soon. After all, the two new routes with approaching preview streams both use the modern PIS system, and they would surely never send preview copies out to ambassadors or even release them with such a grave issue. A simple status update from DTG with an estimated timeframe would go a long way!
I just expressed my annoyance on discord and was told that it was only reported recently and I shouldn't expect a fix so soon. It's not even a bug, it was a mistake rolling out incorrect versions. It may be cosmetic but it affects so much within the game, it should, in my opinion be higher priority. It's pretty bad when a modder can fix it before DTG. I will anyway continue to use the mod and be thankful for it. But I still want to make my opinion clear to DTG that I shouldn't have to. My hope is that, as it was caused by the rollback of the incorrect partial rollout of SEH improvements for the Medway Valley Route, then when this route is released, it will fix it
Signal near Neucoswig is fixed (was not before the last week) and I think that it is fixed the signalling on the LZB section when you drive a train without LZB, but I need to do more testing for this one.
if is been broken that badly that it’s not a quick fix then the previous update which broke it needs rolling back and QA held to task over why it passed QA and was released in the first place. Unless of course DTG knew the update was going to break PIS and didn’t give a hoot
The reason I mentioned the DRS 20s is because we were informed by Skyhook and DTG that updates had been sorted and would be out shortly after Christmas. We're still waiting.
This issue was already reported on 27 February, right here on the forum. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/pis-displays-not-working.96910/ It just goes to show once again how important the forum is to DTG – namely, not at all. They’re hearing about it for the first time today on Discord, and we’re supposed to take that seriously. If DTG were to look more closely at the feedback threads, and also at the threads posted under TSW Troubleshooting and Discussion of Issues, then DTG would have known about this PIS bug since 27 February. Didn’t Jan write yesterday that DTG want to treat releases and updates equally? And that even with updates, DTG want to take the time to ensure everything is documented just as it is with a new release. Sorry guys, I feel like DTG are taking the mickey out of me more and more every day.
the problem is that it costs money (and not a small amount), so the point is, paying what we pay for unfinished and broken dlcs with promises of fixes that take months to arrive (if they ever arrive) is very wrong imo
And Jan wrote this yesterday: ""Jan: Yes, our entire marketing, retail and support team is going to be busy supporting a major release, and we would like to give the same attention to a patch release."" So if you treat the updates you release with the same level of attention as a new release, why didn’t you realise that your update had broken the entire PIS system? And given that we pay a hefty price for every DLC, one would expect DTG to fix these bugs. And DTG has no right to make us wait several months for certain updates.
You personally? I'm irritated by the PIS not being fixed yet, it may not be game breaking but it's immersion breaking and should be a priority. However, I am sure there are reasons as I don't for a moment believe that DTG are happy with It not working and I'm not going to get worked up over it. Life is too short. Maybe the forums are becoming less important to DTG but look over a few threads from the last week or two and you will see why.
No, see that excuse was only valid yesterday when they were trying to gaslight us that they never said the update was scheduled for the 17th and it was then shown that they absolutely did say that after all. Now, as for today, they can't give the update release full attention because, um.....wait, it's because....wait, um
@theorganist I meant all the TSW 6 users! Sorry that the online translator has phrased it incorrectly in places.
The fact that they couldn't even fix the PIS bug they themselves created in a previously borked update speaks volumes IMO
Yet it is so....... after a year and a half they found out that a 4K texture is 16x larger than a 1K and they will implement it for another year and a half, if they succeed at all
