I notice if you already have the S1 route from JT you get a discount on the S3 and it combines in to one big route

This is the same developer who created U-Bahn Frankfurt. I believe he once stated on the German forums that he intends to recreate the entire network, just as he did with Frankfurt. Therefore, he is likely to add the U2 and U4 lines at a later stage.

They are called U3 and U1. Yes, anyone who has the U1 will get a discount whether they purchase the U3 from JT or from Steam. Yes, it is going to be released on Steam.

Wait up! Am I reading this right?
I already bought U1 and drove every scenario over a year ago, costing me £32 approx. (Already quite expensive)
Now they've added a relatively short extension U3 and are now charging £35 for U1 and U3 together.
No option to buy just U3.

OK, they are giving me £13 discount but that's still... uhm.. £22 just for the relatively short extension!
Surely (going by the new price) the extension should only be an extra £3 ?

I don't want U1 all over again. It's like getting new tyres for your car and having to pay for a whole new car just to get the tyres!

The extensively upgraded U1 line is now accompanied by the full U3 route. These two complete lines of Hamburg's U-Bahn include 70 stations and add up to a length of around 76 km.

For those of you who have the Steam version of the U1 route, JT have said that they have sent the U3 and updated U1 route to DTG to be put on Steam.

Info says... The U1 has been upgraded, with a fully revised Messberg Station and its length updated. The rail network near Berne has been updated, along with guard rails where required around the network. Traffic lights have been added and all the stations have been revised in accordance to the new S-Bahn route map, along with minor but important details such as an authentic font for the DFI departure boards.

These sort of updates (aka fixes) on any DLC should be free for people who bought the original version - similar to other relatively frequent JT updates to their own in-house DLC. No way will I be paying for the same route again just to get corrections that should have been there in the first place. Even if we considered the fixes to U1 as free in the new (or re-released) DLC, then the relatively small U3 extension on its own is not worth £35. Even with the £13 discount I end up with the U1 and U3 once each having paid a total of £55.

Will you are getting a discount? What more do you want? Why not complain on JT's FB page or write to their support and complain? I have the U1 route and will be buying the U3 route with the updated U1 route at a discount when it becomes available on Steam.

You don't buy U1 again - this extension merges U1 and U3 in to one big map.
But for its smaller size I think the fact you are already have most of the Stock with the U1 you should not have to buy them again.

Its the same principle as done with many other route extensions in the past. DLC - Price X. DLC-Extension - Price Y. In summary all players who bought the first DLC had more to pay even with a discount then those who came later in and payed one price for both which was less than: "(X+Y)-discount". And it was similar again with those routes who vanished over times because licensing issues and then got released as one single complete route.
So everyone who doesnt like this indeed not nice and fair reality can do three things 1) not buying, 2) buying instantly, 3) buying at some point in the future when the whole thing get a very good sale
