Just wanted to say that Update is a lifechanging experience on NJ Routes! Never understood why cab speed behaved how it did, but it was clearly not working properly... with the fix description I kind of understand...
Do you mean the loco rear cab like alp46 or the cab car? I’m trying to understand what this fix accomplished. Thanks
I think it removed some of the unexpected and clearly incorrect speed drops, but maybe it was just one place that signalling was different on this service. I know there was often a series of wild speed changes and drops for just a few seconds or rising speed just to drop again after a few seconds and stuff like that. Especially around Newark Penn (direction NY). Will check if that has changed on my return trip ;-)
If that's true, it's great to know, because I have avoided driving NYT like the plague because of the borked signaling
Has MAC been fixed with the Voyager? I’m getting pretty sick and tired of spawning Willy nilly at some random station and not in my train…
I’ve had Discord installed for more than a decade, but I can never really bring myself to use it consistently. The wholly uninviting UI design with random hidden channels and complex menus makes it sooooo hard to follow a conversation. Sure, I can pop in and chat, but when I’m gone for a few days (or even hours/minutes), it’s completely impossible to figure out what happened in the meantime. Discord seems to be designed for spontaneous conversations and quick/short messages… meanwhile, I enjoy writing fewer, but more detailed comments, and the fact that my writings here on the forums don’t immediately perish and can easily be found by other users with similar interests for years to come motivates me. On the forums, I can follow threads I like and receive notifications. I can also search for messages with useful filters, which means I can easily find comments I vaguely remember from three years ago. All of this makes it easy to become part of the conversation again after not being there for a while (which was the case for me in autumn and winter). On a different note: I really hope people stop these hostile takeovers of threads just to share 100% negativity. We’ve all got our personal opinions on certain third party developers, but if people keep sharing the same empty paroles on all kinds of threads, it just makes it harder for DTG staff to spot actual valid questions and issues. I think these forums have a rock-solid place alongside Discord as long as we focus on the strengths of this platform — high-quality, calm, factual and objective discussion.
Maybe for you, but for some this game is a religious scripture that players worship daily… If my game refuses to work as it’s intended to I bust out a 100 hail Mary’s in hope of a resolution. Normally DTG come up trumps though with their fixes, although you might be waiting a while
So I did my return trip Trenton to New York: I've noted all the signalling and ATC/ACSES stuff I've met on the ride. Thought I'll open that in a new thread because it goes off topic here.. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/is-atc-acses-really-bugged-or-maybe-not-that-bad.97253/
To clarify my above message: I assumed the 20mph speed around Newark Penn could be because the train reads the signal information for the opposite direction, that would explain why it behaves like approaching a signal at danger...
