I've noticed several times that the controls will freeze up on the map screen. Can't scroll, can't zoom, can't click on stuff. Usually Escape works to get out of the map screen, but even that can take a few seconds lag. Then, if that stops working sometimes clicking "9" again works...until it doesn't. When both stop working, swapping out of windows (alt-tab) and back can make those start working. However, once the scroll/zoom/etc buttons stop... they just stay "broken" not registering. Except "Toggle Legend" always still works for some reason. It's happened with a number of locomotives, and most often on the east side of the map closer to Vicarstown. Haven't had it happen by Knapford or the docks or anything but that could be coincidence. Almost always in Free Roam too. Only had it happen one time I think in an actual timetable.
Same happened to me on shunting challenge Ffarquhar quarry. Bit annoying cause I was nearly at the end.
I've got this on PS5 also. It's happening more since the recent patch. It always timetable when it happens me and usually the mid point of Thomas branch line.
I just encountered the same bug today in Free Roam on my PC. Made a path to Crosby Platform 2 in James but the switches didn't change and sent me down the through line instead, tried to reset the path behind James but mini map controls stop working and I ended up SPAD and game ended.
This is one of only two real serious bugs I've noticed in the game so far. This and the "can't interact with controls" popping up occasionally. The "simple" controls still usually work so that's not a game killer exactly...but this one might be in some ways worse in free roam because you can't DO anything in free roam without setting destinations to unlock signals. It basically makes free roam unplayable (and a small number of timetable runs)
