I would love to suggest the Eurostar route from London to Paris for Train Sim World. This would be an exciting high-speed international route that connects two major world cities and gives players something very different from the usual commuter or regional experience. A Eurostar route could offer: London St Pancras International to Paris Gare du Nord High-speed running on HS1 The experience of traveling through the Channel Tunnel A modern international train experience with Eurostar equipment A route that feels iconic, recognizable, and premium What would make this route especially interesting is that it is not just another rail line. It represents a major international service between the UK and France, and it would bring a sense of scale and importance to the game. The combination of high-speed gameplay, famous stations, and cross-border rail operations would make it stand out. I think this route could appeal to both existing Train Sim World players and new players who are interested in famous European rail services. It would also be a great showcase route because London to Paris is one of the most recognizable train journeys in the world. If possible, I would love to see Eurostar considered for a future Train Sim World release. (THE ACTUAL FULL ROUTE) This is the route/map
Take it with a grain of salt, I've heard that obtaining the license for Eurostar is quite a bit of a pain. No doubt they haven't considered it before. Other than that, realistically speaking, at best you'd be going from London to Calais or lille. Going from London to Paris definitely isn't going to happen.
Well at least it’s worth just still having hope besides automatically being doubtful. That’s just one of my suggestions.
I don't dare imagine the work it would be to create just the stretch from Gare du Nord to the start of the LGV... Plus it would be totaly void of local traffic...
Sadly I’m one of those who finds the prospect of a high speed dash to Paris, a great deal of it in tunnels, not that exciting. And apart from Eurostar licensing, not sure if the Chunnel operators will be open to their infrastructure being represented in the game, for security concerns.
Realistically they would actually do it as something like this what's the proper licensing Ashford to Paris
that stretch would probably be very demanding to build for something that doesn’t have much local traffic. But Eurostar still has strong value because it’s such an iconic service. Even if a full end-to-end version isn’t realistic right now, there could still be ways to represent it through a reduced section, select scenarios, or a more focused international route pack.
That’s understandable, and I get why a mostly high speed run with long tunnel sections wouldn’t appeal to everyone. I think the attraction is less about constant scenery and more about the experience of operating such an iconic international service. Although, licensing could be a serious obstacle, especially if infrastructure and security sensitivities around the Channel Tunnel make access difficult. Furthermore, I still think Eurostar has enough identity and recognition that, if the full London–Paris run is too complicated, a partial route or inspired alternative could still be worth exploring.
Ashford to Paris would still deliver the core Eurostar experience, and it would likely be easier from both a development and licensing standpoint than including the full London section. It keeps the international identity of the route without taking on quite as much complexity all at once. But, it still doesn’t hurt to have some hope, right? Lol
Just so we're clear... there's only one tunnel along the way (it's certainly not the least known...). Apart from that, it's true that landscapes in Artois and Picardy are dreary... but it would also make modeling the route easier. That said, the fact that it's such a long distance means we're not likely to see that in the game anytime soon...
I see your point, but we do have about 3 long routes in the game I believe. So something’s are very possible. I guess it’s about the time, and patience, most importantly the budget, and licensing.
I could do without branding if that's what's preventing it. As for security concerns, a "long tube" (instead of a detailed tunnel with access, equipments, etc) would do the trick I guess (?). And if we want to avoid having to represent the very dense Parisian suburbs, we can take Marne-la-Vallée as the terminus instead of Paris-Nord. (And that way, all that will be left to do afterwards is extend it southwards to join the existing end at... Avignon !!!)
Of course, if we do get the Channel Tunnel and Eurostar, we also need the Le'Shuttle and other Chunnel freight services.
