Been greatly enjoying the new NEC Stamford route, so i decided to try the updated ACS-64 and SD40-2 on some other routes to see how that went. ACS-64 Usable on timetables for: NY-Trenton Boston-Providence Boston-Worcester (yard moves only) Morrisville (yard moves only) No issues to report other than the Cab Signal Aspect text is VERY hard to read (even at night but especially during the day). Suspension upgrades are very noticeable on Providence especially once you hit 100mph. Train announcements (sort of) work too. "This is _____, please remember your belongings", seem to not work for the first stop but work for subsequent stops. (E.g. Back Bay no, Route 128 and Providence yes; Newark no, but Newark Airport, Metropark, and Trenton yes). I've only tested this southbound on both routes so maybe it's not consistent. "This is the train to _____, the next stop is _______", doesn't play at all as far as i can tell. SD40-2 Unfortunately not drivable on Sand Patch, or Worcester timetables, but is spawnable in Free Roam. Would be great if the announcements for Trenton and Boston could be perfected (maybe added to Acela too?) and the SD40-2 drivable where appropriate- adds quite a bit of new life to some older routes.
Amtrak conductors usually don’t announce the train destination unless it’s at one of the main stations (Washington, Philly, NYC Penn, Boston). Some do, but on the in-between stops it’s usually next stop in “x minutes”. Good to see this research though so thanks for the info. Also I know you meant Morristown, but when I saw Morrisville I got excited and thought they extended Trenton to include the NJT yard!
So I had tested this and came up with the same as you did and asked DTG about this. Here's what the devs responded "We'd love to implement all the station names for every route content can be layered into, but it's just too a big a task. The two that worked were just because it coincidently has all the announcement fragments implemented that are needed. When an announcement trigger is attempted, it checks if it has all the necessary sounds to satisfy it. So if it needs to announce for an upcoming station and the sound isn't there, it just wont fire anything. It it has everything it needs, it will"
The New York Stamford ACS also shows “150” as the top speed between Hamilton and Jersey Ave on New York - Trenton. Acceleration curve also feels more powerful for some reason. (Could be placebo).
