Hey JetWash Fawx - I'm having issues with the Class 465 having rainy windows, which don't clear. I've disabled all other SEHS mods as per instructions but I can't seem to get clear windows once the route loads in. Any ideas?
Anyone on a base ps5. I can deal with the sound issue the 375 has. How's the textures? Do they blur at all?
It'll be another mod, ensure every mod is disabled and try again. I just loaded in on retail with no mods at all and it appears as it should.
That's more than a little mean spirited. Yes Firefly has produced an excellent route. But you probably don't know what contributions Rivet have made to some of the many routes you've been enjoying.
Looks excellent, can't wait. I'm guessing LMs signal mod isn't needed for signals (OK to leave it in the DLC folder, won't interfere?)
Think I've found the culprit mod! Looks to be Aran & Laika's Better PIS mod for the Class 465. Looks like there are a few, back to trouble shooting it.
Must check my mods but think the only one I have is the better lighting for Riviera which I doubt will affect this.
Nah. Rivet have had long enough to improve. They choose to release sub par add ons. DTG are constrained by Focus (although not a proper excuse but a reason). Rivet never fix issues either. The Scotrail 170 has a very annoying reverb issue. Something they didn't bother to fix when they sold tne WMR/XC 170 and the 171.
100% agree about Rivet. They may have done better with the Riviera Line but their overall output remains below par and there is the legacy of unfixed content in their wake.
Rivet has learned it from the best in not fixing: DTG. But Riviera line is also done by Rivet and they also helped with Cathcart Circle and Glossop line (scenery). I also can enjoy Bernina line, so they can made enjoyable products, but quality control can be an issue, just like DTG products.
I think they’re essentially still DTG Scotland in many ways. Certainly heavily involved in many DTG routes.
Make sure you remove any mods for the PIS for any of the SEHS stock, plus the OrangePIS mod as well. That should fix it.
They're good at train modelling. Scenery and sounds are always awful. It's why they're only allowed to help make routes now lol
Sounds are often bad indeed, however the scenery on Riviera, Glossop and Bernina line are not bad. It's not the best you will see, but at least comparable with DTG products. They also did make nice buildings/stations.
Are there any known bad mods with this route? I'm running a couple of German mods, as well as LM's Brighter Signal Visuals and a couple of Updated Signals mods. I've tried three runs and had three crashes so far. PC/Steam - barely ever get a crash normally.
DTG worked heavily on the Riviera scenery and Glossop. I'll give you Bernina, it's a nice route. The only 2 solid routes Rivet done are that and Island Line 2022
It's not the most exciting route I've ever played, but I don't know the area (I live on the WCML North) so could just be me. Great build quality, great lighting, great route in general.... but I'm probably going to be bored with it fairly quickly.
I was driving the Class 66 (The one that starts at 07:09), and at about 2 miles before the speed limit drop to 40, (Just after the start of the session) the game crashed. I did have a number of mods running, so I disabled everything and tried again. Unfortunately it crashed again. The only thing I have modded is the ini file by Train Sim Society.
The route only dropped 8 hours ago. I don't think Sony and Microsoft let developers spam updates like on PC.
I've found the issues. JetWash Lighting and TOD mod for trains - Fixed with renaming the TSC update file to a .PAK file. Laika Orange PIS Aran & Laika's Class 465 Better PIS
No mods here and thus far no issues. In fact, kept my settings at 4K and even on the first run the old potato PC churning out 25 - 30 FPS with little to no stuttering and no sound squelching. So, tiptop job as regards the optimisation.
I wasn't running that so that's not the case. In fact, I've removed ALL mods and I'm still getting crashing. Shame.
One thing I picked up on Firefly saying on stream is they like to do the scenic routes. Which I do actually really appreciate especially when you can do scenery to this level and hit the performance out of the park! I have to say I was really hoping it'd go well for Firefly as they've all been forum members in our shoes pointing out what we point out in feedback. I'm happy for the whole team to get such a great reception! And it really does show again what can be done with time, care and a passion for what you're doing. Which is something I think a lot could learn from
Skyhook should take notes. Details around stations are important. 3 years and they still haven't added the ugly blue skyscraper next to Leicester Station lol
Did you backup your original .ini file before installing mods? Either swap that back in, or reinstall TSW6 and use the fresh .ini file .... and back it up this time!
I've got three issues here. 01) The blurry windows 02) game keeps crashing after about 5 mins 03) really awful track ballast pop-in Ive disabled all mods via the menu but sadly no luck. The crash to desktop are: Fatal error! Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x000000000000010d kernel32 ntdll I'm hoping the track ballast pop ins can get adjusted in a patch or maybe a mod. Other than the above im gutted so far because for the few mins i've got to play it, it is without a doubt utterly stunning. I hadnt even left the station when i was already taking pictures as its just utterly incredible. Its the new standard. Any help is super appreciated.
I'm not faffing around adding, removing, or modifying files that work without issue on every other route. I could barely reach 5 minutes of gameplay without a crash on 5 attempts, so my refund request is now in.
What exactly did you install to get a kernel level error? "I couldn't be bothered to make a backup of my original .ini file. So give me a refund."
Getting the same kernel error when launching the game. Very odd EDIT: Reset my ini file and it seems to be ok now
Disgusting attitude. Are you one of the devs of this DLC, or just a community member pretending to sit high and mighty? First of all, which ini file? Second, why am I restoring something - does this route DLC modify my settings in some way without telling us? In a way that I should have somehow known to back up one of many ini files related to the game? I was getting the same kernel crashes as several other people are now mentioning. I am dissatisfied with the product, and so have exercised my right to a refund.
The update file on TSC isn't downloading as a PAK file, it's a text file, adding .pak to the end of the file fixed it.
Slightly off topic but still on the Medway Valley Line. Its a shame that after all this time and with this awesome DLC they still have not fixed the Passenger Information System on some of the other DLC units running on this line. Can anyone give an idea when this might be sorted?
This line and its rolling stock are wonderful. A huge thank you to the creators involved. A quick question for the staff: the scenarios and tutorials aren't in French. Are you planning a patch? Thanks again. Denis..... France
If you buy a gaming PC, install mods, but don't even know what an .ini file is, I think you need to take a step back and rethink things before blaming everybody else when it all goes wrong.
I know what an ini file is, you condescending arse. Amazing what 18 years as a sysadmin can teach you. I asked you which one in particular (because there's a few involved in the running of TSW and UE) you thought I should be restoring, and why.
If you’re using mods then you exercise your right to protest. It’s not the devs responsibility to know what mods you have installed for TSW. Considering people from the same dev team created these mods you can expect a fix very soon. Just be patient.
Just FYI that kernal level crash you've had is you've got a bad windows file sitting there. The game just happens to be running at the time it decided to leave the chat. I'd imagine you could possibly be in the Windows Insider Programme running the Canary build.....
Just to interject: 1 - probably engine.ini 2 - It could be the game update causing these crashes, not MVL (this was just pointed out on the long loading times thread).
Thank you for not reading my posts, displaying the same level of reading comprehension as randomshunter. All mods were removed and I still got the crashes. I asked randomshunter which INI file I'm supposed to be restoring from backup, and why this DLC would have modified an INI in the first place.
