We really need to see console footage on at least launch day. Whilst the ambassadors all show off the route on their powerful PCs, console players go in blind. I know The British Ace usually uploads Series X footage on launch evening, but that's late to the party for those who want it earlier. Wait or risk paying £30 for a mess. (Xbox isn't bad for refunds, Sony do not like to unless it's fraud or risks damaging reputation). Surely, someone at dovetail has a PS5 or Series X they can use to record a busy service and lump it on YouTube at 10am launch day?
If it helps, I haven't had any major issues with the route besides the missing sounds, no blurry textures or poor frame rate, a pretty good release
Yeah +1 to the above, I waited for the various threads to fill up a little before plunging (there are a couple of people who always buy it first thing & are usually straight to the forum to log the blurry complaint - pretty handy for me, some self reflection for them may be in order ). As for going forward, I absolutely agree DTG needs to do better at showing console users what they’re getting. The media that goes into the store pages are blatantly not from consoles (some excellent consumer respect there), the console builds are often the most buggy (even before the big issue we’re all looking for) & the console store refund policies are outright anti-consumer. Unfortunately though I suspect all the above is exactly why DTG won’t show us console footage before you personally can actually buy it & they already took a step in the opposite direction by taking away ambassador access to console preview builds. Obviously we can always play the wait and see game, but ultimately for a non-biased look at the content, someone has to take the plunge.
+1 to that. It’s a great route, really sets the foundation on what the team have built for future projects (me’s hoping they have another southeastern route planned in the future ). Apart from the running sounds and in-cab announcements (I like them louder than normal). All boxes are ticked for me. You’ll be very happy with your purchase.
We are hoping that a fix for the running sounds is in the offing (don't quote me on that) and we set the announcements up so that you can control the cab and cabin announcement volumes separately via their individual sliders in the audio menu. I didn't know it existed either!
