I didn't say it was on the same level did I? I said it enhances it, and for me it does. I like knowing that I can open doors.
"Looks like a lot of memory was used." no, there wasn't a lot of memory used for it, barely any infact. We also didn't reject anything over the toilet.

At the end of the day, we wanted to include it, so we did. I don't see how us including that can detract from someones experience? If you don't like it, you don't have to open the door. Some people don't leave the drivers seat, doesn't mean we aren't going to include walkable bridges and sittable benches, or manual crossing gates.

 

There's nothing wrong with adding some Easter Eggs, I've added a few to routes including one which was more a tribute to a good friend.

Are they needed?

Not really but also it helps make development feel less monotonous even if it's only you the dev who will appreciate it.

 

The way I see it is this;

1) It’s been a running joke on TSW since day 1
2) We could add it without issue so we did
3) It did not impact anything else at all
4) The train is getting close to study level now. As with study level aircraft in flight sim, these areas are accessible.

I really don’t see the problem and I’m all in favour of it. Should the opportunity come up to do anything similar in the future then we’ll likely take it.

Most people here are just grumpy and angry 24/7 so it spills into the posts.

Stuff like this cracks me up because as you said, it’s completely optional to use. Nobody is forcing people to use the virtual crapper.

It’s like the meme where they say one person says “I like pancakes” and someone responds “oh so you hate waffles?” If you don’t care about it, just don’t use it then.

 

The thing that tickles me most about the 375 toilet, is it actually has authentic flush sounds to go with it from an actual 375... So not only do you have a fully functional and detailed toilet with authentic sounds, but you also have a 375 with equally authentic sounds to match! No detail was missed we can say for sure. A double whammy for authentic sounds!

In general usually the toilets on trains wouldn't interest me in the slightest, but with the way it's been done it actually does make the 375 feel special and authentic. In a really weird way its made the 375 feel more alive and fully accessible! Started off as a joke on stream (which I genuinely laughed out loud at, but equally impressed!) to actually bringing something to the unit and making it feel like a real life train from a passenger perspective.

Don't know why people are in such a tizzy about a loo. Just like... ignore it if it bothers you so much

 

It’s become clear to me personally over the last week or so that there are those who knowingly or unknowingly choose to be miserable, seek the bad in things and twist things in a way that gives them reason to moan. Very interesting.

 

Toilets are great and if they are in real life no reason why they shouldn’t be in the game.

I mean, early game Fallout 4 before you can set up your purified water network, you restore health by drinking out of the toilet bowl. Same going back aways to Duke Nukem, ISTR you could top your health up that way too. Plus as already covered, they could add gameplay elements in terms of fault finding and conductor/passenger interaction. So I for one think every piece of passenger rolling stock going forward, should have this feature as standard.
