Fair about not posting on April Fools, but today is Wednesday. It could've been posted on Monday or Tuesday. Heck, even Friday like they used to be
Based on some of the responses to previous similar threads, I would argue this happens every day it gets posted.
I will say the roadmap will be posted next week. We had a bunch of meetings on Monday and Tuesday. I'm actually not sure about the Railfan schedule, as we didn't have much to post, and we were waiting on updates.
Now I have a vision of someone at DTG running round like Basil Fawlty in the “Rat” episode, spluttering about, “Deal with the sackings later…”
- Delay live streams - Postpone DLC routes and loco previews until after the DLC releases, so people can't see how broken it is before buying. - Spam endless DLC before the financial year ends, to keep the shareholders and investors happy. - Go radio silent when everything goes wrong, because it always does.... Everybody will have forgotten the disasters by Monday. Did I miss anything?
- Postponing them because they've discovered issues is positive - No one is forcing you to buy DLC from them. Also, DTG have only made 1 add on recently (with a 147 also coming soon) - They have actually been more active than ever lately with their updates on the Class 90 and MVL and also today's update of Stuttgart Heilbronn. there is no need to exaggerate issues that don't really exist.
This is the reason why DTG will never improve or respect their user base. The white knight brigade running defence, lapping-up whatever slop gets shoved their way.
Yeah, exactly – DTG have worked really hard. What are you dreaming about at night? Have a look at today’s update for Stuttgart; not even 50% of the bugs have been fixed, but then again, it is a DTG DLC. Just as the BR 147 is a DTG DLC, and we’ve already seen in the preview streams just how poor DTG’s work is. And how many old updates that DTG or third-party providers might have released are DTG actually giving us? Because there are still a great many updates missing, even for older routes, but we all know that nothing more is coming from DTG on that front.
nope I haven't bought anything new from them since before Christmas. All I'm saying is is that they are doing a decent enough job.
The problem is “decent enough job” isn’t cutting it for some people, myself included. Bugs that have existed since last year are still present. Two examples that are really annoying me are the 802 on Riviera (crackling audio popping on PS5) and the 220 Voyager on MAC, which spawns you half a mile away at another station. Why not fix those bugs first before newer ones? Now we have the Class 90 issues which will take up more of ATS & DTG time. You can see why people are frustrated.
"the next stop is" announcements from ALP-45DP that disappeared with the 13th november patch and never returned
Bugs that have existed since long before last year are also still present! I try to keep a list as proof (link in my signature, please contribute) but it's woefully incomplete.
I ask this as someone who both enjoys the game and wants to see bug fixes and improvements. And I’m sure knowing this forum it will be taken the wrong way. But for those that are fed up with the lack of fixes you’d like to see: At what point do you consider it a sunk cost and just stop playing the game? I’m genuinely asking because I see a lot of people fiercely complaining about the lack of updates, fixes, and overall customer service being provided (and rightfully so), but many of these people continue to buy the new DLC when its released and spend more money on it. So at what point do those people just say they’ve had enough and move on to playing other sims? And to show I’m not asking this to say these people are in the wrong necessarily, I’m a big sports gamer and I used to play Madden and FIFA/EAFC every year no matter what. Then it got to a point where the releases were just not good and gameplay was terrible, the fixes never covered what I was looking for gameplay wise, yet I kept buying and complaining. I realized instead of not being happy with what I was getting and had paid for, I just needed to stop buying the new game every year and spending money on it at all. Also mind you Madden (and to an extent FIFA) is the only game of its kind on the market for football as it’s an NFL exclusive so I didn’t have other options. This year was the first year I bought Madden in over 5 years (it helps I got to play it as a free trial). During those 5 years, I didn’t miss it that much and it was significantly better playing better games I liked and not worrying about how much I couldn’t stand Madden or FIFA or EA. So I understand the frustration, but I don’t understand why people don’t just say I’ve had enough and move on to a different or better game/sim that works better for them.
