First of all, thanks DTG Alex for addressing my question regarding this issue on the latest roadmap stream! You told me to gather instances and locations where this happens, so I decided to make a thread for it :)

Can everybody please post here any routes and locations, where people tend to walk across the train tracks?
Of course that doesn't include places where people are supposed to do that, like the level crossings in stations on routes like Mittenwaldbahn.

I'll start with those I definitely remember myself:

    Linke Rheinstrecke
At Mainz main station, people sometimes cross tracks 1 and 2, ironically just above the passenger tunnel (maybe the pathfinding of the stairs is an issue here?).

    Frankfurt-Fulda
At Offenbach main station, mainly across tracks 2 and 3, again roughly where the passenger tunnel is.
Between Offenbach Ost and Offenbach main station.

    S-Bahn Frankfurt
At Frankfurt-Sindlingen station. Also, there's a level crossing just southwest of Sindlingen, where cars pass even when it's closed.
At Frankfurt Airport regional station, mostly on the northern track for trains arriving from Frankfurt. People disembarking from these trains also tend to jump on the roof lamps (athletic but a bit crazy).

    Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn
At Ludwigshafen Mitte, near the passenger tunnel.
Come to think of it, many of the issues seem to be related to the passenger tunnels, maybe the NPCs can't find or access the tunnel or stairs, so they skip that and head for their next destination directly, no matter how potentially unhealthy that may be.

    Stuttgart-Heilbronn
At Nordheim station. Also there's another level crossing where cars pass when closed, just north of said station.

    S-Bahn Vorarlberg
    At Bregenz-Riedenburg station.
    At Lauterach station.
I think this happens on more stations along that route, but these two I remember definitely.

I can add to that several stations on the Goblin/Suffragette Line.
    Harrow and Wealdstone on WCMLS.
Various stations on Morristown where passengers walk under the train to board.

Though I do find it slightly perplexing that DTG have to ask us to give examples as, 1. There have been numerous reports via Feedback and Troubleshooting threads and 2. Do they not actually see this themselves when playing/testing routes?

I found that to be quite alarming too, when watching the stream yesterday. This issue has been brought up and discussed numerous times, and it happens frequently across many routes. Granted, it doesn't happen every time, but it's present enough that it all but must have been noticed by someone in testing.
Either the infamous blurry texture issue really does keep most of the team's workforce busy, or testing is not as thorough as it should be. Or worse, the motivation to deliver a solid product is lacking.

Well, since there are many locations where the chance to encounter this is high, I'll play along ;)
As long as I can contribute to finally getting this sorted out...

Without sounding like a jerk every route has this problem. But mainly the newer routes.

The way that passengers walk around in this game is so clunky honestly, like they tend to frequently bump in with each other so I wouldnt be surprised if there was a chance that some might accidentally get shoved on the tracks.
Let alone the times that they just appear on the tracks that way.

Where ive seen it happen was Dresden Riesa.

Yeah, thats the overarching issue. Passengers feel very much like automatons right now. On the platforms and especially in trains.
I made a whole thread about this ages ago, but not much has changed so far. Admittedly it's not a priority issue and presumably very complex, but I'd like to see improvements someday :)

I don't think I have often seen pedestrians on the tracks, I more often see them clip into the platforms with just their head and shoulders sticking out.

I suppose it speaks more to me playing a lot of US routes, but I definitely notice more often the cars driving through my train at crossings.

I think, I've seen this happen in an increasing amount over the time on many routes. I'll try to take note when and where specifically but imo feels more like a general problem. Lately I also keep seeing passengers being halfway stuck inside platforms. Like they stand on "ground level" of the track, so only their upper body sticks out of the platform level. Sometimes also cars don't stop at the crossings - but that's more rare.
Would be a nice feature, if passengers too close to the track would react to the horn / whistle and move away from it.

Somehow, and i dont want to be too mean to DTG... but the way that fixes have been going with this game, I feel like if this was implemented they'd end up walking into the tracks rather than away from it.

Indeed, it seems like some sort of error has silently crept in at some point. I haven't encountered this issue on pre-TSW3 routes, Linke Rheinstrecke seems to be the oldest of those I use. Nowadays, most recently released routes seem to have it to some degree.

I already thought the same, perhaps TSG's cow logic from Mittenwaldbahn could be of use here. But I agree with -_-LivvuAurora-_- too:
Yep, exactly my thoughts. TSW QA seems to be in a sorry state these days, or completely dedicated to the blurry textures thing... :|

Of course, that's true. But the problem isn't that obvious. If you listen to Vern's description of Liberec Stara Paka, passengers are running everywhere, constantly getting run over by the player's trains. I only launch this route in Turnov. And only when the train starts moving. You gave examples, but I don't remember anything like that in those places. Perhaps I didn't look closely enough.

My comment wasn't aiming at QA in regard to this particular problem, but rather QA in general.

My mistake, sorry... in my original post, I forgot to mention that this issue doesn't happen constantly, it's very sporadic. For example, I've been doing services on Linke Rheinstrecke literally since it came out, but only noticed the issue at Mainz around the time the E94 pack came out, and encountered it 2 more out of ~30 times in that spot since then.
Additionally, I couldn't tell if the issue happens more often at the start or end of a service, i.e. if you spawn at Mainz right away, or if you're about to finish your service at Mainz after a 1,5 hours run.

I agree that such sporadic issues are the most difficult to track and fix :|

Just as we talked about it. XD

    Stuttgart-Heilbronn
I think it's Nordheim? - About 5,8 km before Heilbronn (New 2018 timetable)

Yeah, it's not ideal, the rolling bag on the ballast.
